Here are some things that the anti PCB brigade will put a blind eye over:

1. The PCB hired EY to do a valuation assessment of the current franchises and the PSL brand in order to present the valuation for the current owners to buy at a 25% on top rate…first right of buy goes to the current owners and if they refuse, the franchise goes into auction.

-EY have been trying to get in touch with Ali Tareen/Multan Sultans to get accounts and Data relevant to their assessment so that they can finish their process.

+Multan Sultans/Ali Tareen has not responded to any of EY’s calls or emails. They even tried different numbers to call from to see if Tareen and Co. Respond….all efforts unsuccessful.

-whilst knowing that EY are on the case of all Franchises, Ali Tareen instead has been going on all of these talk shows, Twitter, podcasts etc. and has been making all sorts of disrespectful comments towards the PCB/PSL committee.

Insiders believe that Ali Tareen is doing his best to devalue the league+Franchises as much as he can so that the EY valuation is far less than what it should be, and therefore he has a complete free shot at purchasing a below value Multan Franchise. Plain and simple!

The PCB can see through this charade and have therefore simply decided to part ways with Tareen. They will put the Sultan’s franchise up for sale at the market value determined by EY using whatever data they have through the PSL committee and other franchises.

What are Sultans hiding in their accounts?!! Why are they not sharing them???
It is not sultans actually... Tareen group has many other connections here... Sultans is nothing in front of that.

Preparations underway for PSL franchise team renewals for another 10 years.

An important meeting held at PCB headquarters under the chairmanship of PSL CEO Salman Naseer.

Middle Eastern Chartered firm EY MENA presented parts of the valuation report on PSL.

EY MENA was represented by Mohsin Iqbal (partner) and his team.

The renewal of franchise agreements will be based on the revised fair market value of the teams.

The projected market value for two new franchise teams was also deliberated upon.

EY MENA will finalise and submit the fair market values of the franchises within a few days.

Existing franchise teams who are in compliance of the terms of their franchise agreement will be offered the right to renew for a period of 10 years.

PCB is now considering doing away with payments of Franchise Fees and Salaries in USD and switching to PKR. Pakistani Franchise owners will definitely be happy with this, not sure about the foreign players and staff.

AI translation of the Urdu release on Twitter

“Only eligible teams from the current ones will be able to participate in the new bidding”

This part basically means Tareens will not be included

Well I think one thing is for sure. The PCB don’t look like a modern professional outfit that can resolve disputes the proper way and Ali Tareen is an investor that just can’t work with the current lot. It’s just got to be a parting of ways plain and simple but the PCB needs to get its act together

So it sounds like the lease system will remain.

Honestly, it blows my mind that this system exists and will continue to exist. Why would any owner invest money into the team if you are just going to be a care taker at the end of the day and PCB can take it away from you if they don't like you or what you have to say. I don't think PSL will ever see true growth until this leasing system is removed.

Why would foreign players and staff feel otherwise?

They will get paid each year whatever amount is setup for that year's PSL

Tareen continues

That’s not important. It’s not about individual investors or the administrators. That’s exactly the blame game that should be avoided. Conflict like this in public undermines PSL as a whole. If you say Tareen wishes to undermine the PCB then they are giving him exactly what he wants. In actual fact the PCB should have systems in place that increase brand value and minimise conflict.

Salman Naseer latest interview regarding the PSL. He is being interviewed by the General Manager Hijab Zahid i.e. his subordinate. Why not bring in a tough neutral sports reporter who will ask independent questions to do the interview?
Still Salman answered well.

Given the circumstances and what Pakistan Cricket and the country has went through this past decade. I think Salman has done a decent job with PSL.
