Pakistan cricketer Haider Ali arrested In UK over Rape Allegations, Later released on Bail [Updated@ Post#15]

UK police return Haider Ali’s phone amid criminal investigation

The United Kingdom’s Greater Manchester Police returned Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali’s phone on Friday amid the ongoing investigation, ARY News reported, citing sources.

Sources privy to matter said that the Pakistani cricketer was kept in custody and investigated for three days after he was accused of rape during Pakistan Shaheens’ tour to England.

According to sources, the right-handed batter chose to remain silent during the investigation and responded with “No comment” to queries of the Greater Manchester Police officials.

The sources went on to reveal that the UK officials have returned him his phone, suggesting that the authorities have not find any evidence against him from the device.

Pretty poor statements. As someone who's previous career was law (in the UK) the police and CPS aren't really particular about innocence, everything is dictated by stats. If they feel they can manipulate someone in an interview and later use it they will and have done many times I know off as I have advised people about this in their personal situations many times. Which is why anyone with common sense is advised to say no comment in an interview.

Furthermore in the UK the usual time between bail and charge is 1.5 years give or take, during which time if you have kids under 18 you can't stay with them, you're suspended and your life is a ruin....without even being charged, never mind guilty. So many organisations I know off work with such people who's lives have been ruined or their families as their loved one commited suicide....before even being charged.

So stop with the nonsensical posts and let someone have their day in court.

Thanks.

Bless you bro for sharing this. There is not enough awareness of what goes during the police interviews. It's a horrible ordeal for those who are completely innocent.

The worst thing about it is are the bail conditions, where the accused is unable to go back to his own home (even if he is the sole property owner/tenant).

The justice system is flawed and has destroyed many innocent lives.

You are more optimistic than I am but I recall we all had optimism during the Spot Fixing Scandal in 2010 and the Spot Fixing Scandal in 2017 during PSL…

Like I said there is no smoke without fire and these big allegations against a foreign international cricketer…

If there's anything I've learned from Better Call Saul (TV Show) is that you keep your mouth shut. You have a right to attorney.

You're making moronic comparisons.

The spot fixing scandal had videos and pictures and then the actual act being carried out infront of the world.

It's quite terrible. I think both of us admit rape is terrible and lot of men get away with it but the justice system is not perfect. Even someone arrested, then bail leaves them forever ruined. They can't afford hotels (with no money as suspended from jobs) as can't live with family if kids, can't work either. Their entire financial future, their family's savings and in turn their family...everything goes up in smokes.

And this is before a charge. Never mind being actually charged. People like msb314 were pulling this smoke without fire nonsense before every major trial eg Mendy but an arrest means nothing, never mind HE IS NOT EVEN CHARGED.

He may be guilty but innocent before guilty is a core tenant of justice system. For a reason.

And this is happening to an individual who is relatively on higher scale of economy, status and power in society.

I can't imagine what happens to the life of a more ordinary individual. As not every accused is guilty of crimes in any society.

No you did not, that’s why you were demanding “justice” for him in 2021.

You have a great talent for always finding yourself in situations where you end up supporting fixers and criminals. Probably the only talent you have.
😂
You know what they say

Apparently there was a girl 'chasing' him, and he didn't respond and to teach him a lesson, she field complain.

oh not surprise the usual suspects are defending another one.

Point is, even if it was consensual, as a representative of Pakistan, getting involved in such acts looks bad.

There is no smoke without fire. Only thing that is going be looked into whether it was consensual or not.

I love how darwins natural selection gets applied here

🤣🤣🤣🤣. This made me laugh lol.

Anyway if you wish to know my take, I overall agree, Whatever the situation, sports Celebrities getting involved in such cases 90% of the time entails their career is over unless their happen to be the top 1-2 football stars or top 1-5 wwe stars(not a sport, entertainment but very popular) where axing them is not an option and you can pull strings to get them back in.

Haider Ali isn't relevant and hence no one will logically advocate for him. His career is more or less over.

They've returned his cellphone.

I think he is safe.

But this is just dumb.
The returning of phone doesn’t mean anything. They download all the data to scrutinise at a later date. Once downloaded there is no reason to hang on to it and it’s returned.

No UK police arrests anyone without evidence if the girl was chasing, let alone a high profile person. Its a waste of time for everyone.

They need some evidence at least before getting the warrant for arrest.

I lived in UK for 3 years as well. The UK police never arrested anyone for such things.

For things like chasing they will just break it up and be on their merry way. Chasing which doesnt include intent to harm doesnt warrant a case in UK.

they are taken into custody the moment an allegation like this comes up just so they also don’t escape the city or country during that time frame

Please show me where I claimed the individual, who has accused Haider Ali of rape - is lying.

It's funny that you're talking about lying when you're the one here who is actually being dishonest.

@Sachin fan - I'm still waiting for your response. If you going to make claims please substantiate it with something credible rather than running away like a coward.

If he is a sexual deviant and a threat….he shouldn’t be allowed to have his phone

Police won’t just give you your phone back if they recon the guy is risky.

He was arrested pending investigation. The same happened with footballer Yves Bissouma, where he was arrested but later his record was cleared.

As regards any charges being brought forward, it’s incredibly difficult to levy criminal rape charges on anyone, where you have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, 99% certainty, where DNA evidence would be present at the least.

So, I’m not so sure that he’s in trouble, but let’s see.

Ultimately, based on instincts alone, I think he hasn’t done this and I pray I’m right.

Even if there is 1% truth in it, that is gonna create a huge ripple effect on Pakistan cricket. I really hope that this is all just a misunderstanding.

Lol what, how difficult is it to buy a new phone,?

What threat is his owning a phone now?

Which means they had enough evidence/smoking gun to arrest him.

Enough evidence to arrest and enough to convict in a court without reasonable doubt are two different things.
.

But as you rightfully said, it's very very difficult for conviction in sexual assault cases and most victims don't get justice.

Why do they even get into such stuff.. PCT is an easy place (comparatively) to make your spot, just focus a little fgs.

He might be innocent but he is dumb for sure.
This is the only obvious fact about a lot of Pakistani cricketers.

He may well be innocent and may have been "trapped". I will never call a man "guilty" until it's proven .

But it's difficult to avoid the conclusion that PAK cricketers are disproportionately dumber than their counterparts from other countries.

It's probably why most of them will never realise their raw potential either.

He is tainted goods now.

He will find it difficult to walk away from this.
