Pakistan cricket's demise on the horizon?

This is not true ... Pakistan got flogged mercilessly by Sehwag/Dravid/Tendulkar/VVS and lost by an innings twice with a bowling attack that the current team would die for ... lol
Not the test pitches, domestic pitches has been very bad since 2004 in Pakistan where bowlers did not have to work for wickets.

The demise of first class and test match cricket has happened. There is no going back. It's the type of format that needs momentum behind it. If you let the momentum and interest die, you will never pick it back up.

The lack of a decent infrastructure and first class pathway stifles progress and the inexorable decline of Pakistan cricket will continue.

Compare the careers of Saim Ayub and Yashawi Jaiswal — both are 22yrs old.

Jaiswal has played 24 first class games and played his first Test four years after his debut in first class cricket.
Saim has played 15 first class games and played his first Test (against Australia !!) one year after his first class debut.

England, Australia and India will leave the likes of Pakistan behind in the dust given their investment in infrastructure and professionalism. Talent is simply not enough.

Fear factor is gone from Pakistan. Look at the remarks about Pakistan from others in recent times

Sikandar Raza -

"At what time did you start to believe that this match could come to your side?" the reporter asked Sikandar. To which he said, "Before the first ball was bowled"

Hardik Pandya -

"Timid Babar and Rizwan did not take any chances"

Ali Khan

" we decided to pick one side to defeat and it was Pakistan. "

Neutral umpires hardly affected the home records of India and Australia for instance. In PAK's case, the impact was almost immediate. They lost a series the very next year to humble Sri Lanka of all teams. And then just kept losing.

Pakistan have struggled to produce a single decent ODI spinner since Ajmal. Every other team has produced at least one.

These changes affected all teams but only PAK looked completely toothless after each change.

It was actually Pakistan, especially Imran khan, that championed for neutral umpires and actually made it a reality.

Dramatic headline again, it will never be a demise like Hockey due to insane amount of viewers but definitely mediocrity is rising.

Majority of the players look unfit, Naseem almost seemed liked someone with a belly, no inspirational leader completely in sync with what average Pakistani thinks about sports.

Naseem is not unfit. He is fit. That pic circulating is him breathing hard, gasping for air.

I don't think there are massively unfit players in the Test side. It's a skills/talent/endurance issue.

You can't come back after a year and look to bowl 20 -30 overs in an innings with consistent speed and accuracy.

Shaheen has the opposite issue in terms of playing all kinds of useless leagues and all formats when he should be taking time off and working on his bowling.

They are just not capable of executing the level of skill required for that long.

The other 2 bowlers don't have the ceiling of these 2 bowlers and while they were more accurate , they won't get much better no matter what.

My bad on Naseem, clearly can’t bowl proper lines then.

Subcontinental fans are very fickle. Can't blame them cause they have a tough life and turn to sport (and movies) for an escape from reality.

Another three years of such performances and even the nerds on this forum will disappear, let alone the average person in the stands.
