We may be critical about Safraraz Ahmed, but one thing he will not do is let any game go without an effort - maybe a verbal effort but he will let the opposition know we are here

This does not seem to be the case in Sharjah atleast

Looks like Pakistan players just happy to be there for themselves, and seem to be treating this as a big training camp!

No effort, no enthusiasm - just every man for himself!

We can still win this series under Sarfaraz with our main players back. Australian bowling is weak and we should capitalize on that.

Sarfraz is a fighter and his colleagues like Asad Shafiq has said said that Sarfraz plays every game with the same passion be it club cricket or international cricket.

Right now honestly it looks like I am watching a friendly match.

Atleast with Sarfraz you hear him from behind the stumps to get get a feeling that there is an international match going on where players are representing their country.

Australia is 460/2 in this ODI series so far.

One of the worst bowling effort by Pakistan team in a long time in LOIs.

I have seen Pakistan cricket for the best part of two decades and never have I seen a Pakistan team which is more listless than this and I've seen us play Zimbabwe D where Imam was stat padding like no tomorrow.

Bizarre batting, absolutely disgusting decision making, and total mockery of international cricket by this team. If you are trying new things, why wouldn't u try bowling first and then chasing the target? If you are trying new things, why wouldn't you try to score at a faster run-rate.

Please cancel the remaining three matches of this series. Let the Australian cricketers go play where they really want to play or play and play an under-19 team instead so at least the young players can learn something.

Couldnt agree more.

1-No bowling plan imparted by the coach. He is literally sitting there yawning the whole time. That guy is a hack. I cant remember a single bowler who improved under Azhar Mehmood.
2- Batting Coach is focusing on his fitness while there a match going on, instead of thinking what could have gone better.

It all stems from the meek uninspiring Malik. He’s leading this side as if he’s been forced to lead them. The man has been an abysmal captain recently whichever team he’s captained.

Yes they are waiting for Sarfraz to come back so they can magically win again.

Problem is we have a minnow mentality of setting a 280 score and saying how wonderful it is.

And Shoaib Malik's statement at end of the game proved it!

Honestly, I can't remember the last time a Pakistan bowling attack lacked such penetrativeness.

Players are not risking injury...so careful whil bowling batting. Do not want to be injured and mess up Worldcup spot.

Defeat is not worrying to me, i know this is an experimental series, margin of defeat and lack of penetration with the ball is.

That statement was more pathetic than the performances of late - I can't believe the captain of an international side could come out with such idiocy in one sentence - I wonder if he proceeded to wipe his dirty boots on the national flag as well, as it amounts to as much?????!!!!

I don't understand why Malik is made captain. When you are going to test your bench strength, why make a guy captain who has been around for 20 years and is on his last legs.

Totally agree on Sarfraz point, this team needs him desperately. He pushes the team like no one else, and gets the best out of them

I have a feeling that his English is weaker than he thinks - maybe wanted to something else.

that doesn't make sense - none of the bowlers on tour are in a position to take it easy and get ready for the WC, their not guaranteed spots.

The top bowlers (Hassan, Shadab, Shaheen) are already rested, everyone else is fighting for spots. Why wouldn't they give their best.
Same goes for the batsmen

Very oxymoronic point

Really? What do you think he was trying to say that would make sense in the context?

Pakistani attitude v Cut throat winning attitude

Yesterdays loss to Aussies is one of the biggest debacles I have seen in recent memory. How we compleyely choked
A winning position from there takes alot of skill@@@

Now I think Abid Ali is a good batsman and should be in the squad regardless. However he seemed more interested in proving a point rather than team winning. I wasnt happy with his excessive celebrations after the 50 but once he hit his ton it was understandable enough and I have no problem with this but when you get so pumped up it breaks your focus and hence why alot of our players end up getting out after this. Or they incorrectly think the job is done and hit out in a wild manner like Abid granted it's probably a fitness issue also...

The thing that wound me up the most and what I detest is when he came back to dressing room it was like he was a victorious Roman general returning to the capital for a parade all hi fiving and shaking everyone's hand like the match is over!@ everyone was acting like the match was over so even when imad came out to bat he was so casual in his attitude as was saad Ali!!@

If I was manager I would not allow any kind of big celebration till the match is over under any circumstances and if you reach a personal milestone and we lose then as far as I am concerned it's almost irrelevant! Dont get me wrong a tap of appreciation on the shoulder to let him know good job but after that go sit down and wait till we win or if we win
Even after match abid was giving interview about proving his worth etc....that is wrong mentality. On the other hand
Finch and maxwell post match interviews give you the right idea and thinking required to be consistent match winners!!

One can never relax in sports till you have won. Just thr other day Switzerland were beating Denmark 3 -0 in the 82nd minute but Denmark came bail to draw the match as Switzerland switched off and took it easy! One has to carry on till the match is over and only then celebrate @@

I was following the match on CI in the library as I was doing coursework and when Rizwan and Abid Ali were together I thought there was no way even Pakistan could screw that game up. Lost for words. Disgraceful
