Pakistan has messed up this series purely on the basis of inability to handle pressure

There was no excuse to lose the first test match and now being on the verge of losing this third test match. I don't believe someone else on the bench is really the answer to the team's woes. He have plenty of batsmen in the squad who just don't really put their hand up in those real pressure situations where the team needs them to stand up to be counted, too many soft players and ofcourse the batting line up is very one dimensional with too many slow accumulators. Fakhar Zaman at the top was a good addition, Sarfraz likes to stay busy but goes missing too often.

Need to have a good balance of different players.

Is it pressure or just poor quality batsmen? I have said for some time that the only batsman in Pakistan's side who is technically competent in all areas is Babar Azam, and he scored in the second innings. Not that he is great either, but at least he doesn't have glaring weaknesses which can be exploited. The rest are all relying on the bowler to pitch in their sweet spot otherwise they are struggling.

For the third test, yes. NZ batted quite well in the second innings when under pressure. However, there's no credit to give for the 2nd test, which would've been the series, that was in our pockets until ... ..

Kiwis definitely played well, but you expect a so called" top team" to be able to chase 175 from 130/3, and you expect them to bat out 75 overs for the draw. We simply cannot play under pressure.

Pakistan has been winning and winning Test series after series in New zealand 1973,78,93,94,95,04,11.

They have won after 49 years. That too by a fluke in the first test.

Kiwis definitely played well, but you expect a so called" top team" to be able to chase 175 from 130/3, and you expect them to bat out 75 overs for the draw. We simply cannot play under pressure.

Pakistan isn't a top team though, they have good bowlers, but their batting is very brittle when up against any quality bowling side. You will see this again when they go to South Africa.

Lots of teams collapse out here - its how Pak have been successful, even with the batting power of Younis/Misbah, plenty of collapses triggering wins for us.

Now the boot is on the other foot, albeit the margins are quite small - we need a stellar batsman to emerge.

Biggest concern is that while - Hassan, Faheem, Shaheen (our bowlers) show signs of improvement, plenty of our batters (whatever their level) do not look any better.

Having said that, its still early days at test level for Fakhar, Haris and Babar - they could in years to come give our bowlers enough to work with.

NZ does really well squeezing out singles, bowling with their field settings. Does'nt mean it was incredible opposition to face. If Yasir Shah had just one of the 2 catches he dropped of Williamson situation would be different.

The only pressure Pakistan team has is their own batting lineups ability. I think now the world knows, that we can't play short ball [Imam], our batsmen can't survive seam and edge to the slips es p. Azam and Shafiq. We can be 55 for 5 on a batting wicket. And yet no need to worry about as the chief selector will select all these batsmen back again.
