Pakistan in semis at Asian Junior Squash championship

Pakistan confirmed its spot in the Asian Junior Team Squash Championships 2019 semi-finals by defeating hosts Thailand on Friday.

The side cemented its place in the last four by winning the Pool A draw 3-0.

Pakistan took the lead when Abbas Zeb overpowered Abbas Abdullah 11-0, 11-0 and 11-2.

The side showed its dominant form once again when Muhammad Farhan Hashmi clinched a 11-2, 11-2 and 11-0 victory over Waritpol Klinsoontorn in the second event.

Muhammad Hamza Khan completed the 3-0 clean sweep over the hosts as he won 11-1, 11-3 and 11-0 win over Vasispol Thonguthaisri.

Pakistan will play Hong Kong in the semi-final.

The side defeated South Korea and arch-rivals India on Thursday.

Well done... to junior lads. We need to adopt US style of sports where sportsmen first compete at highschool level, then the best athletes get scholarships in universities to study while representing the university, from there they get noticed and make it to state/national teams. This ensures a constant stream of new, fresh talent. This is the easiest and fastest way of improving sports in the country. Most reputable universities already have well developed sports facilities which can be leveraged to produce sportsmen of tomorrow.

Being a keen follower of squash it’s quite redressing to see a couple young Pakistani squash players topping the charts at junior level. I hope they make it big and we see one of them in top10

Pakistan beat India 2-0 forgot to mention that as well. The tournament was hosted in Thailand.

In the tournament opener Pakistan started their campgain by beating Chinese Taipei and Sri Lanka

Than they beat Korea 3-0 and played India as well beating them 2-1

Where they played Hong Kong in semis finals and beat them

And finally playing India again but this time in finals which lead to Pakistan winning the championship
