I hate to make this thread but feel like it is much needed given the fanfare of recent management changes and the debacle of our batting so far in this test.

The reality is that changing the Chief Selector, Chairman and even WK are just cosmetic changes. It will NOT make one iota of difference to the fortunes of our Test team..

Our players simply lack the patience and skill required to succeed in Test cricket so sooner the fans accept this reality the better for our own sake! No amount of change at the PCB will change this fact!

Shahid Afridi can’t go against strong mafia in PCB. Lobbyist won’t allow him to make drastic changes in the team.

“Drastic changes” won’t make an iota of difference to fortunes of our test team..

Bring in Umar Akmal and Haider Ali on these pitches in Asia they will play some entertaining cricket slow batsmen trying to be aggressive just looks silly.

A number of batsmen and bowlers selected can be analysed and aren’t good enough long term for tests it’s hard to believe some of the selections in recent times these are people well paid to do these jobs doing these selections someone who has little knowledge could do better.

Umar Almal is an unfit 33 year old who hasn’t played Tests in more than a decade. He will certainly not change the fortunes of our Test team

He’s 32 and in good form in the one day competition it’s not about changing the fortunes of the team overnight it’s about changing the mentality the personnel needs to be there for an aggressive approach slow batsmen cant do that..

I’m currently scenario, both will fail in Test cricket. They don’t have the temperament for Test Cricket.

TEST TEAM: Try this for next Series
1. Mohammad Huraira
2. Kamran Ghulam
3. Usman Salahuddin
4. Babar Azam
5. Saud Shakeel

Any new management needs to be given some time to deliver results.

That’s your opinion in Asia aggressive batsmen can definitely succeed not every innings but the impact is more than any slow batsman those two are the best options for Pakistan currently.

In his prime Umar was the best test batsman his competition was Azhar Shafiq Haris Sohail Fawad and Shoaib Malik I have no doubt he could have done better.

They are being to play in a way which they are not used to.

Too much pressure probably from media and admins.

We are not that bad. Just too much pressure outside off the field. The constant chopping and changing does not help. Also, we have a new management yet we only play a pacer and a half. What in the World are they doing? You need a minimum of 3 pace options in any format

The poor bowling is making this team look worse.....batting has its flaws but it can still do a manageable task in Asian conditions but if your bowlers concede 500 at 6 rpo, it's impossible to win.

Not sure who is proclaiming them to be a good Test team in the first place :))

The bowling attack has a combined total of 50 or so wickets lol

We are a decent enough team. Just need to kick a few passengers from the team. These players need to go back to domestics
Salman Agha
Abdullah Shafiq
Muhammad Rizwan
Abdullah Shafiq's obvious replacement should be Abid Ali because he is an attacking opener naturally and he was never dropped from the team on the basis of performance. He just had an illness. Now he should be rightly brought back to the team. Rizwan needs to work on his technique and then make a comeback. Moreover, Agha salman is just not good enough and should be replaced by Kamran Ghulam. Make these changes and most of our batting issues should be solved. If Shan, also, fails in 2ns innings he should go to england and live rest of his life there. He is good only for county cricket.

Pacers are below average and apart from Babar there are no other world class batters.

One of the worst squads I have seen. Its truly appaling. Easily 7th ranked team if not worse.

Batting is good when the pitches are favourable and the opposition is NOT England or South Africa!

Not true - England went from losing 9/10 tests to immediately winning 9/10 tests with similar players.

Leadership and management makes a huge difference.

This is not to say Pakistan is as good as England, but remember small changes can make a big difference.

No sane person has claimed otherwise.

Pakistan lacks players who can take team over the line to win or often even save tests at home. Main problem is pace unit being very new and not good enough.

pakistan is an average test side, the big 3 are significantly better, and the minnows are somewhat poorer. whether its possible to bridge the gap to the big 3 is difficult to say.
