Fair play. Perhaps he needs to be rested from Pak and reinvent his game in the long run.

When he kicks on after a slow start then it works well, but when he doesn't, like what happened today when he scored 30 off 27 balls that puts his team under a lot of pressure if they are chasing a large total.

An opening stand today against LQ of 48 after 6.3 overs wasn't good enough.

Said it before and will say it again… against top sides, this approach will lose you more games than it’ll win.

Rizwan is not a suitable T20 opener for Pak

Babar and Rizwan can’t open in future T20s. Either bring in Fakher or M. Harris to open with one of them but these two as a pair is a big no no.

They had no momentum in the powerplay in both matches!

They are always behind the required rate or what is usually par on these roads!

It will work now and then but most of the time it won't.

Any time you are chasing a big total this tactic will fail unless the likes of Rizwan can score at a strike rate of close to 200 later in the innings or an out of world knock is played by a batter in the middle or lower order.

It's also a tactic that puts a lot of pressure on players even of the calibre of Miller, Roussow etc.

Such is the wicked mantra of desi culture. The Arabs know their ways.

Emphasis should be on Babar place not Rizwan.

Rizwan still the cleanest keeper in Pakistan and has better hitting ability early on compared to Babar.

However, Rizwan mindset needs to move away from anchoring in T20 and taking more risk.

Babar needs to sacrifice his comfy opening spot, but hey the word sacrifice is not in his dictionary.

He is slow but has been performing unlike Babar Bili, we need to bring Fakhar to open with Rizwan. Babar needs to sit down and should focus on ODI and test cricket.

He is either plain dumb (good possibility) or he is purposely deflecting it. The deflection tactic is an art he must have learned having been empowered by Misbah and Ramiz Raja
