Honestly people will praise our performance, but let's be real we just got Lucky with Dahani hitting those sixes, otherwise this was a cake walk.

We need a real coach who can come up with some real thinking and strategies. India came with a plan today to bounce us out.

Where is our thinking. You had a left handed Fakhr Zaman standing at second slip. Illogical.

Too many small things. Bowling to a field, all these matter and a good coach would bring this thinking to a team.

It is incredible that we will go two world cups with literally what best can be described as a male shift coach.

The game has moved on and we are not moving with it

What is Ramiz doing seriously.

In today's age, people visualize crunch situations and practice it over and over again. Their setting, their placement. I can't imagine Saqi bringing any of this to our game.

Good thing we have you to tell us Saqi can't do any of this. I'm guessing you're taking the time to post on PP while being inside the dressing room and knowing exactly what is going on.

I guess the reverse question needs to be asked as well. What is the coach doing whenever Pakistan win? Is it luck? You can’t win every match, and in any sports teams change course and cannot execute their game plan to perfection no matter how well planned out it is.

Well atleast there are serious issues that are visible if we look back at it..... These beardwalas are still playing hacks in the middle order instead of proper batsmen..

In LOIs the tail starts from no.4 for Pakistan, well this is been happening so far since 2019...

Khusdil, Asif , Danish , Ifthikhar are the middle order bats they have been cycling through...

Abdullah Sfafique is a proper bat and he can be cultivated for this role. He can bat at quick clip as evident in PSL, but labeled “test specialist” for whatever reason.
Other half decent options who have a technique is Shan Masood.
I’d take Haider over Khusdil/Asif. Only one of Asif and Khusdil plz

Everyone can guess what to expect from a Pak team, they will do the simple basic planning before the game, and wont make an out of the box decision during the game like How India batted smartly at the end there by not taking risk and waiting till the last over to finish the game

Pak wins matches against top teams by individual performance in batting and bowling departments

Nothing comes in my memory where Pak won a match with their smartness

Pakistan were really poor with their matchups today.
Sending Khushdil yo rotate strike when he clearly cant.
Yousaf has no place in the coaching set up with his gentle lob throw downs as practice for the batsmen.

I am not so sure, Pakistan has had elite coaches and the results were not any better. In fact, I would argue that they were worse. In the past, Pakistan in similar situations would have straight up folded.

can’t really blame the coaches. We are a one-man team when it comes to the batting. Coaches can’t do anything when Our Batsman can’t score runs

Someone who is more than a caregiver for players.

Now days you get to see enough in behind the scenes stuff, player interviews etc to know the kind of coaching and thinking that is happening.

We went from Misbah to Saqi, both who are not trained coaches or had any real coaching experience. It is a joke.

Anyone who has seen Hardik bowl in the last year knows he just pitches it short, yet we were not ready.

Any coach worth his salt will tell you a left hander cannot be in second slip to a right hand batsman. It is when you notice these things you realize the lack of thinking

Our guys are still stuck coaching the 90s way

Bring Mickey Arthur back. Deserves an apology because of how he was ousted by Misbah and also deserves a pay rise.

Are any of the top elite international coaches willing to apply to the Head coach role in Pakistan especially with the IPL and various T20 leagues?

People need to get real, the PCB don't have a lot of options regarding quality applicants. Can we afford to pay the best $500,000 plus? The Indian head coach makes $1.17 million a year

Comments by Mickey Arthur - wonder if Saqi and Co think in this way?

"I think they should [separate Babar and Rizwan]. Fakhar hits the ball in different areas, it frustrates the bowlers a little bit,"

"It is the different angles, you've got a left-hand and a right-hand. So, spread Babar and Rizwan and you put Fakhar Zaman back at the top."

"In terms of blueprint, when I was with Pakistan, and we had a more successful time in T20 cricket, we used to set ourselves to get 160 batting first and then rely on our bowlers to squeeze,"

"We used to build as best we can, and that was quite a good recipe for us. The difference between that team and the team now is that in the middle, we had Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik."

"In the middle now, they are a very young outfit, they don't have much experience, and when you get them three wickets down early, I think they are going to struggle."

I honestly don't think there were glaring tactical mistakes yesterday.

We simply need to pick proper batsmen in middle order and then don't mess up their positions.

Haider Ali, Ifti, Agha are a better bet than Khushdil.

Don't send in Shadab over any of these.

That's it.

3- Fakhar
4- Haider
5- Ifti
6- Khushdil/Asif/Agha

They need to get someone better , not necessarily the elite coaches. Try to get some Domestic coaches from England , Australia etc.

Pakistan needs people a coach and captain to be more flexible and think outside the box at times to maximise the potential the team has as it’s clearly not close to being a number 1 for a long time yet.

Winning a World Cup should be the aim but not being flexible does not help.

Bring back Mickey Arther immediately, he already has a rapport with the players

What can coach do if players are not stepping up to intl level?

If you give Rahul Dravid talent pool of Shan, Khusdil, Asif, Haider, Agha etc. most likely he will also play similiar squad and XI.

None of these guys stand out from rest and none grab their chances with performances that make them undroppable. Any decent coach will give the guys long enough rope and eventually cycle them out if not working which is exactly what Saqlain is doing

Well Mickey was the one always pushing for Hafeez and Malik out of the side and now he is saying like it was his move. Hafeez was frequently dropped from LOI side during his tenure.

I read his interview and he said that I would have had spinners bowl earlier and more. While the case is Mickey was an extremely poor coach of spin. He was the one always relying on 4 pacers and 1 or 2 spinners in the team at max. The guy wouldn't even play 2 spinners in UAE tests.

Everything looks easy in hindsight. But this is Mickey just trying to get cheap scores.

Saqlain didn't want this job. He wanted to go back to his NCA role. Ramiz persuaded him to continue. Some blame has to go to the chairman as well.

If a person isn't interested in a job and you somehow convince him to continue, it's very likely his heart won't be in the job.

Saqlain is an honest and hardworking guy. Suitable as a spin coach. Head coach is simply not his forte.

Pak should get a trained guy as a head coach who can prepare the team and players to do their best at the highest level. By preparing, I don't mean simply compiling an eleven but devise training sessions and routine to train his players to become the best they can. Such kind of coaches are not present in Pakistan and have to be brought from abroad. England, SA, Aus and NZ have well trained people in such positions because they have a system where they train coaches as well.

South Africa or England is the best place to find a suitable coach IMO. Someone like Flower, Law, Ford etc

SL also have such a person in Thilana Kandamby who could make a fantastic coach (currently working as assistant coach of SL A)

Look busy our boys....

Saqi seems like a good motivational speaker and a potentially good spin-bowling coach. Not sure if he possesses any vision or tactical or strategic acumen that comes with the head-coach role.

I do not understand the strategy of not trying out reserves even in a game against HK. Hasnain MUST have played today. Rather we risk injuring Naseem and give useless Rauf/Dahani another chance.

Nice pose for camera!!! He can work from home and save PCB plane fair and hotel expenses. Many people can give motivational speech for $40,000/year +food and travel allowance.

That is the issue with Pakistan long time , no long term plans.

Saqi is good enough. Relax. You just want fancy white names as your coaches. Colonial hangover.
