It was essentially one consecutive tour and 5 tests give a better picture of how the players fared. The batting averages of the batsmen on the whole don't make for pretty reading:

Azhar 15,31, 1,58, 5,71, 205*,43, 71,11 = 511@56.78
Sarfraz 7,2, 41,19, 59*,24, 10,43, 18,72*= 295@36.88
Younis 2,1, 2,11, 0,65, 21,24, 175*,13 = 314@34.89
Asad 16,17, 23,0, 2,137, 50,43, 4,30 = 322@32.20
Babar 7, 29, 90*,16, 19,14, 23,3, 0,9 = 210@23.34
Aslam 19,7, 5,91, 22,15, 9,2 -,- = 170@21.25
Misbah 31,13, -, -, 4,5, 11,0, 18,38 = 120@15.00

Only Azhar and Sarfraz to an extent can be said to have enhanced their reputation (and overall career average).

Biggest disappointment for me was Aslam. After Edgbaston, we all had high hopes for him but he was a flop. Hopefully he can redeem himself. As for Misbah, what was most telling was his mode of dismissals - often out slogging when defence was needed. It showed me he was mentally gone and I suspect he didn't really want to carry on after the England series but felt compelled to do so in case it was felt a new skipper had been given a poisoned chalice. Pakistan cricket will always be in his gratitude but I do hope he now retires.

As for the specialist bowlers averages they are even more horrific.

Rahat 2 tests 6 wickets@33.33
Imran 2 tests 8 wickets@35.25
Wahab 4 tests 13 wickets@39.23
Sohail 3 tests 10 wickets@39.80
Amir 5 tests 12 wickets@42.33
Yasir 4 tests 8 wickets@91.62

All were poor and Rahat and Imran's figures flatter them. They are not test standard and if Sohail cannot get himself fit despite being a professional sportsman he needs to find a new vocation.

Stats aren't everything. Only an idiot would think Imran and Rahat were our best bowlers.
