Fawad has a first class average which ranks him in the top 20 of all time. It's sad that he's forced to play at a level like this where he won't even be playing first class cricket. It would be like someone on the fringes of a major footballing international squad playing in the Vauxhall Conference (or what is now known as the National League).

Does Fawad play in these leagues every year or is a first?

And if he has played in one of these leagues before, what were his stats?

He played for Clitheroe last year as well.

I'd be surprised if he is allowed by the PCB to play in any form of cricket at the moment.

I checked on CricX and it said he has been placed.

I have a feeling he was signed by a very low division club for peanuts

Pakistani players dont get nearly as much perks as Australian/South Afircan/ New Zealnd overseas players do.

Being an overseas Australian Pro....What a life!

Should we be worried that Fawad isn't absolutely dominating at this level? I mean it seems as though he's been re-signed on the basis of his bowling. Fawad a FTB?

He's not in the squad. His form is therefore not a concern for the Pakistan team.

Very true that

It’s weird that Sadaf Hussain is playing for these local leagues every year.

If he was really as good as people say he is around here, wouldn’t he get spotted and selected by one of the county teams?

Getting a county deal doesn't mean you're a good bowler, look at Dinda.

Very difficult to get County gigs as they are looking for international players.

Saturday 28 April:

Saeed Bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) with the ball 5-0-23-0 and with the bat 5 off 14 balls. His team won.

Sunday 29 April:

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) with the ball 15-1-69-2 and with the bat 29 off 48 balls batting at number 3. His team lost.

Saturday 5 May:

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) scored 21 off 41 balls and had bowling figures of 8-1-23-2. His team won.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) with the ball 10-0-57-2 and 11 off 33 with the bat. His team lost badly

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) out for just 4 but his team won.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) with 10-2-16-3 helping set up an easy win for his team.

Sunday 6 May:

Asif Zakir with the ball had figures of 12-4-36-1 and with the bat 59* off 80, guiding his team home in a chase.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) with 5 off 20 and with the ball 8-1-56-1. His team lost.

I can understand how Fawad Alam might not get into Pakistan's team owing to politics etc. But I am surprised he cannot get into a county side in England at least?

Saturday 12 May:

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) had figures of 5-0-28-0 in an abandoned match, presumably due to rain.
Saeed Bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 45 runs in a draw.
Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) bowled 10 overs, took no wickets but gave away only 31 runs and scored 35 runs as his team won a thriller by 1 wicket.

Sunday 13 May:

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) with bowling figures of 13-1-49-1 and didn't bat as his team won easily.
Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) with bowling figures of 11-1-36-0 and scored 39 in a successful chase.
Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) scored 65 runs and with the ball 11.2-3-18-5 in a comfortable win for his team.
Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) had figures of 14-0-58-3 and was out for 4 as his team lost badly.

Always great to see top players give back to the game

Saturday 19 May:

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) scored 54 off 45 and bowled 10 overs for 44 runs, no wickets. His team lost.

Saeed Bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 54 runs in a successful chase. He also bowled 2 overs and gave away 14 runs without taking a wicket.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) was out for 1 but had figures of 7-2-29-1 as his team won.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) had figures of 10-0-40-2 and scored 38 off 32 runs but his team lost.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) had figures of 13-0-54-1 and scored 58 off 64 balls but his team lost.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) played against Asif Zakir's team and he had a stinker. 13-1-73-0 and out for 9 as his team lost badly.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) played against Kamran Ghulam's team and no doubt he had the better day. He scored 77 off 59 balls and had figures of 7-3-14-2

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) got smashed with the ball, had figures of 12-0-94-0 but, as you should know by now, scored a great 96*, albeit in a losing cause.

Sunday 20 May:

Faisal Iqbal did not have as much luck. He bowled 3 overs and gave away 26 runs - no wickets for him and he bagged a golden duck. However, his team won.

Muhammad Saad (Bradshaw CC) had figures of 7-1-28-2 and he scored 43 runs but his team lost.

Asif Zakir had a good Sunday as well, scored 105* off 61 balls with eight 4's and five 6's. He bowled well as he had figures of 7-1-26-1 as his team won.

Sadaf Hussain is due to arrive in the next week or so.

Saturday 26 May:

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) scored 64 runs and had bowling figures of 8-1-36-1 but his team lost.

Saeed Bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 59* off 68 balls in a winning cause.

Mohammad Saad (Bradshaw CC) scored 88 off 95 balls and had bowling figures of 17-5-50-2 but his team lost against...
Qaiser Abbas's team (Westhoughton CC), who scored 105* off 135 balls and had figures of 16-1-42-3.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) had bowling figures of 9-1-37-4 as his team won.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) had bowling figures of 4-0-12-1 but was out for 5 as his team won.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) scored 137 off 127 balls with 16 4's and 2 6's and also bowled well with figures of 8-0-35-0 as his team won.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) didn't have a huge role to play as he had figures of 10-1-36-0 and scored 15* in an easy win for his team.

Sunday 27 May:

Faisal Iqbal scored 0* and didn't bowl.

Qaiser Abbas played against Mohammad Saad's team again, this team Saad's team won. Qaiser Abbas scored 51 of 67 balls but was dismissed by Saad, who had figures of 10-2-43-4 and then he backed up his bowling performance with an unbeaten 129* of 128 balls with 14 4's and 4 6's. Qaiser Abbas had figures of 10-0-34-0.

Mansoor Amjad couldn't repeat Saturday's heroics as he was out for 22 and had figures of 4-0-19-0 as his team lost.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) had bowling figures of 15-2-44-3 and scored 107 off 83 balls with 15 4s and 1 6 in an easy win for his team.

Asif Zakir only managed 20 runs but still set up a win for Burnley with 10-1-33-5.

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) scored 52 off 51 balls and had excellent figures of 11-2-38-5 to set up an easy win for his team.

somehow I get the feeling these guys are so much happier playing cricket here than they are in Pakistan.

Village cricket feel, lush green grounds / parks, weather is decent most of the summer.

Friday 01 June:

Saeed Bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) was out for 2 and had bowling figures of 2-0-24-0 as his team lost. Not a good day for him.

Qaiser Abbas (Westhoughton CC) was out for 35 off 20 and had bowling figures of 3.4-0-38-1 as his team won a T20

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) had figures of 3-0-12-1 and was timed out as you probably know by now. His team won the T20.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) had bowling figures of 4-0-15-1 and scored 2* in a T20, it seems his team won although the scorecard seemed pretty dodgy.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) had bowling figures of 4-0-25-2 and scored 18* in a T20 match but seems his team lost, scorecard seemed dodgy here as well.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) scored 15 off 8 balls and had figures of 2-0-9-1 in a T20 match, seems his team won but scorecard also seemed dodgy here (spotting a theme - scorecards are fine for majority of games but have been weird for these T20s)

Saturday 02 June:

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) scored 75 off 76 balls and had bowling figures of 6.4-0-33-2 but his team lost a thriller.

Mohammad Saad (Bradshaw CC) had bowling figures of 9-2-27-1 and scored 37 as his team lost a close game.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) had bowling figures of 10-2-38-2 but his team lost badly, in the chase he was out for 9, his team losing by 137 runs.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) was out for 8 as his team won a low scoring thriller against Sandwich town (interesting name)

Saeed bin Nasir was out for 19 off 41 but his match was abandoned.

Qaiser Abbas was out for 8 off 34 balls but had bowling figures of 16-6-15-4 as his team won a low scoring match. Pitch must have been awful.

Sunday 03 June:

Kamran Ghulam had figures of 13-1-39-2 but bagged a 7 ball duck. His team won by 3 wickets.

Asif Zakir scored a 2 ball duck and had bowling figures of 7-1-21-1 as his team won a close game.

Mansoor Amjad's team came up against Fawad Alam's team. Fawad Alam scored 84* off 90 balls and Amjad had figures of 15-3-59-1. Mansoor Amjad done very with the bat, scoring 111* but his team fell just short. Fawad Alam had figures of 15-2-50-3 as he won against his fellow Pakistani. They both played the game where Mansoor Amjad played his only T20I against Bangladesh, and here they are 10 years later playing against each other in UK club cricket.

Tuesday 05 June:

Qaiser Abbas (Westhoughton CC) had figures of 4-0-14-1 and scored 38 off 22 balls playing a key part as his team won a T20.

Friday 08 June:

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) scored 47 off 25 and had bowling figures of 4-0-15-2 as his team won a T20 against Mansoor Amjad's team (Rishton CC). Amjad had figures of 4-0-31-0 and was out for 36 off 25.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) scored 19 and had figures of 4-0-33-0. Not the best day for him but his team won the T20.

Saeed bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 60 off 52 balls as his team won a T20.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) had figures of 4-0-20-0 and scored 51 off 42 but his team lost the T20 by 3 runs despite losing only 1 wicket. Bizarre scorecard.

Saturday 09 June:

Fawad Alam had figures of 13-2-41-1 and was out for 36 but his team lost.

Kamran Ghulam was out for 16 and had bowling figures of 10.1-3-17-1 but his team lost again.

Asif Zakir scored 46 runs and had bowling figures of 4-0-25-0 but his team lost.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) scored 98 off 103 balls and was run out! That must be heart breaking. He bowled 8 overs, and picked up 1 wicket while giving away 37 runs. His team won easily.

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) bowled 1 over and gave away 5 runs and was out for 12. His team lost.

Bilawal Bhatti (Hem Heath CC) had bowling figures of 12.4-2-51-2 but was out for 6 in the chase as his team lost.

Mansoor Amjad had great bowling figures of 15-1-50-4 and in the successful chase he smashed 79* off 44 balls.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) had bowling figures of 6-2-25-1 and scored a fighting 29 in the chase but his team lost by 10 runs.

Muhammad Irfan Jr (Hornchurch CC) was out for 5 and had bowling figures of 19-2-58-3. BTW Monty Panesar is also playing for his team as well. This isn't the very tall Mohammad Irfan, it is the one who has played for LQ and KK.

Saeed Bin Nasir scored 53* in a successful chase.

Sunday 10 June:

Asif Zakir had figures of 9-0-56-1 and scored 26* but seems his team lost on DL.

Friday 15 June:

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) was playing a T20 match against Fawad Alam's team (Clitheroe CC). Asif Zakir scored 101 from just 60 balls, Fawad Alam had respectable figures of 4-0-24-0 however he was out for just 5 in the chase. Zakir had good bowling figures of 2-1-3-2 in what was a very easy win for Burnley.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) was out for 1 and had bowling figures of 2-0-18-1 as his team got thrashed in a T20.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) had figures of 4-1-18-1 and scored 15 as his team won a T20.

Saturday June 16:

Complete opposite performance from Asif Zakir against Mansoor Amjad's team (Rishton CC). A day after that century against Alam's team, he was out for a golden duck. However, he wasn't too bad with the ball as he had figures of 7-0-30-2 including the wicket of Mansoor Amjad, who scored 38. Amjad had bowling figures of 4-0-24-1. Burnley won this match.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) was out for 5 but had great bowling figures of 7.5-0-25-5.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) was out for 26 off 41 balls and had bowling figures of 10-0-37-1

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) had bowling figures of 10-0-35-2 but was out for 18 in the chase as his team lost a very close game.

Not a great day for Bilawal Bhatti (Hem Heath CC) with the ball as he had expensive figures of 9-0-60-1 and scored 10* off 55 balls as his team had a losing draw (as his team didn't lose all of their wickets).

Hammad Azam (Royal High Corstorphine CC) had bowling figures of 8-0-39-0 and in the chase, scored 97 off 93 balls helping his team chase successfully.

Saeed bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 45 off 84 balls but the match didn't finish as rain had the final say.

Muhammad Irfan Jr (Hornchurch CC) scored 48 off 21 balls but with the ball had figures of 10-1-43-0. His team won.

Sunday June 17:

Faisal Iqbal was out for 6 and had bowling figures of 6-0-26-0. His team lost again.

Fawad Alam scored 69* but the match was abandoned.
Bilawal Bhatti played a couple of T20 games. Had bowling figures of 4-0-31-1 and was out for a 2 ball 6 as his team lost badly. His team won the other match though, with figures of 2-1-4-1 in an easy victory, he wasn't required to bat.

Muhammad Irfan Jr was promoted to 3 and scored 36 off 27 balls and had bowling figures of 9-4-13-2 as his team won again.

Asif Zakir was lbw for 12. Seems this match didn't finish.

Kamran Ghulam scored 91 off 112 balls, it seems this match didn't finish either. Not sure why so many matches didn't finish, perhaps an error on the scorecard.

Mansoor Amjad was out for 2 and had figures of 5-0-27-1 as his team lost badly.

Matches probably didn't finish on Sunday because of the terrible weather. It was raining pretty much all over the northern part of the U.K.

Most probably, I live closer to London and the weather was fine here though, must have been bad up north.

Are there any non-Pakistani international players that play in these leagues?

Are there any non-Pakistani international players that play in these leagues?

In this level of cricket, I think so. For example Jon Jon Smuts played for Radlett CC, which is in the Hertfordshire league which I play in too. He has played some T20's for South Africa.

Friday 22nd June:

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) had bowling figures of 4-0-19-2 and scored 49 off 32 balls as his team won a T20.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) scored 51 and had figures of 4-0-9-1 as his team won a T20.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) scored 25 and had bowling figures of 4-0-23-0 as his team won a T20.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) had bowling figures of 4-0-42-0 and scored 40 off 32 as his team won a T20.

Saturday 23 June:

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) scored 34 off 37 balls and had bowling figures of 10-1-53-0 as his team lost badly.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) had bowling figures of 10-0-49-0 and scored 15 as his team won a thriller.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) scored 11 and had bowling figures of 3-0-22-0 as his team got smashed.

Muhammad Irfan Jr (Hornchurch CC) was out for 15 and had bowling figures of 10-0-49-0 as his team lost.

Yasir Ali (Elworth CC) had figures of 10-2-30-3 as his team won

Umaid Asif (Knypersley CC) had figures of 14-3-40-4 and scored 25 but his team lost.

Bilawal Bhatti (Hem Heath CC) scored 26 off 34 balls and had figures of 16-1-62-2 as his team lost.

Sunday 24 June:

Fawad Alam had figures of 15-1-66-5 but with the bat could only manage 2 runs.

Asif Zakir had figures of 14-1-46-3 and scored 25 as his team won.

Kamran Ghulam had figures of 15-3-70-3 and scored 59 in the chase but his team lost badly.

Mansoor Amjad had figures of 7-0-39-0 and scored 68 in the chase but his team lost.

Faisal Iqbal scored 130 off 89 balls with 16 4's and 4 6's. Took 3 catches as well as his team won. GOAT.

Hammad Azam (Royal High Corstorphine CC) scored 106 and had figures of 6-2-13-2 as his team won easily.

Tuesday 26 June:

Hammad Azam (Royal High Corstorphine CC) scored 27 as his team won very easily.

Friday 29 June:

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) was up against Mansoor Amjad's team (Rishton CC) in a T20 and he was out for 5. Mansoor Amjad had figures of 4-0-38-2 and in the chase he scored 52 off 38 balls. Asif Zakir had figures of 4-0-27-0 but despite Amjad having the better match - it was a win for Burnley.

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) had bowling figures of 4-0-33-0 and in the chase scored 63 off 42 balls as his team won.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) was out for 7 off 10 but had fantastic figures of 4-1-12-4 but that couldn't stop his team from losing the T20.

Saturday 30 June:

Fawad Alam had bowling figures of 12-3-48-5 and in the chase scored 21* as his team won easily!

Asif Zakir's team played Mansoor Amjad's team again but this team it was Rishton who won a thriller. Asif Zakir was out for 1 whereas Amjad had figures of 15-1-48-3. In the chase, Mansoor Amjad scored 113 as his team won by 2 wickets in the 50th over. Asif Zakir had figures of 10-0-46-1.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) came up against Shahzaib Hasan's team (Blackheath CC) and it was Shahzaib Hasan's team who won despite Asad Ali having the better match. Shahzaib Hasan bowled 2 overs and conceded 15 runs whereas Asad Ali scored a fighting 62 off 64 balls. Shahzaib Hasan scored 27 off 17 balls in the chase and was out to Asad Ali, who had figures of 6-0-32-1 but it was a very easy chase for Blackheath.

Muhammad Irfan Jr (Hornchurch CC) had bowling figures of 10-3-29-4 but was out for 1 in the chase. Was a low scoring game and his team got a scrappy win.

Saeed Bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 36 off 47 balls as his team won.

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) scored 71* off 66 balls and had bowling figures of 10-3-28-1 but his team still lost.

Bilawal Bhatti (Hem Heath CC) was out for 6 and had bowling figures of 15-2-42-2 but his team lost badly.

Yasir Ali (Elworth CC) had figures of 17-2-55-2 and was out for 6 in a loss.

Umaid Asif (Knypersley CC) had figures of 16-1-54-3 and was out for 19 in a bad loss for his team.

Thursday July 19:

Hammad Azam (Royal High Corstorphine CC) scored 36 off 18 in a T20 that his team won.

Saturday July 21:

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) was out for 1 off 6 balls and had bowling figures of 6-2-11-2 as his team lost a low scoring thriller.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) didn't have a great day, he was out for 13 off 19 balls and had bowling figures of 8-1-35-0 as his team lost badly.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) was out for 7 off 18 balls and had figures of 4-0-28-0. Not a great day for him either.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) scored 75 off 89 but got out to Chris Schofield - the one who played for England briefly. Amjad wasn't as great with the ball and had figures of 5.3-2-27-0 as his team lost.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) was out for 14 off 13 balls and had bowling figures of 5-0-40-3 as his team won a thriller.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) was out for 1 as his team were all out for 18. Yes, you read that right. This was the lowest-ever score in Kent League history and also in Beckenham Cricket Club's existence. Their innings lasted 49 minutes and their opposition chased it down in 12 minutes without losing a wicket and Asad Ali had bowling figures of 1.3-0-12-0. I play cricket myself and I've been on the winning side once this season and only once last season but even I can say that is absolutely terrible.

Muhammad Irfan (Hornchurch CC) scored 57 off just 33 balls and had bowling figures of 10-2-30-3 as his team won comfortably.

Sadaf Hussain (Berkswell CC) had figures of 11-5-23-1 to set up an easy victory for his team.

Saeed bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 40* of 33 balls in an easy chase.

Yasir Ali (Elworth CC) scored 26 off 23 balls and had figures of 6-0-46-2 as his team won.

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) had bowling figures of 10-1-45-0 and scored 52 off 53 in the chase before being run out, his team lost.

Bilawal Bhatti (Hem Heath CC) had figures of 15.4-4-34-3 and was stumped for 25 off 20 balls as his team lost a low scoring game.

Hammad Azam scored 26 off 27 as his team won.

Sunday July 22:

Muhammad Irfan had bowling figures of 7-0-30-4. He was promoted to open the batting and scored 10 off 4 balls, his team won the match in the end. A pretty good weekend for him.

How much do they get paid if anything playing this form of Cricket? Asif is finished and a nobody now. His supposed Bollywood movie has not got anywhere either. Being mostly illiterate he has very few options in life.

Pakistani players really struggling this season apart from Mansoor Amjad.

Probably a bit disrespectful, but if you're not playing for a top county side, what's the point?

Financial reasons, the opportunity to get ECB coaching badges, the chance to play some cricket when there is no cricket going on in Pakistan.

Definitely agree on this for fringe players. I found Haris Sohail going to these once baffling, he has a career at the top level potentially, he should have aimed higher than a club side in the lower leagues.

Monday July 23:

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) opened the batting and scored 21 off 13 balls and had bowling figures of 7.1-2-23-2 as his team won. What confuses me is that this wasn't a T20 game but a proper one day match. How would that happen on a working day, it wasn't a bank holiday here in UK, which is pretty bizarre. You can't play a 50 over match after work, no time, no idea how this would have worked but hey ho.

Saturday July 28:

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) scored a 5 ball duck but had good bowling figures of 10-1-20-4 as his team won a close game.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) had bowling figures of 13-3-24-3 but didn't bat as the game was abandoned, due to rain.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) got a 2 ball duck, didn't bowl as the match was abandoned, weather affected cricket up and down the country this week.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) didn't have a great game, pretty average bowling figures of 13-0-88-0 was out for 22 off 23 balls as his team lost badly.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) had bowling figures of 8-0-53-3 and was out for 20 off 25 balls, his team lost.

Muhammad Irfan (Hornchurch CC) had bowling figures of 10-2-31-1 and didn't bat in an easy win for his team.

Saeed bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) had bowling figures of 3-0-16-1 and scored 14* off 13 balls in the chase but the match was eventually abandoned due to rain.

Bilawal Bhatti (Hem Heath CC) scored 21* off 18 balls and had bowling figures of 14-5-39-4 to set up a winning draw (as the opposition didn't lose all of their wickets)

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) had a TFC as his team won easily. For those unaware, what a TFC is, it means "Thanks for Coming" so when a player doesn't bat or bowl in the match.

Yasir Ali (Elworth CC) was out for 6 off 23 but had good bowling figures of 13.5-4-33-4 but his team lost a close game by 3 wickets.

Asad Ali had bowling figures of 9.2-0-36-1 and was out for 4 off 3 balls in the chase as his team won a game in the league!

Savage :)))

I've just realized Jaahid Ali is playing for West Herts CC, who are in the same league as I play in, the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League! He's been having a good season, on 14th July he scored 193* off 151 balls and that is his highest score of the season. Keep an eye on this thread over the next few weeks for his, and the rest of the Pakistani player's perfomances as the season comes to an end!

I found this out in a weird way actually. This Saturday, my team is playing Radlett III away, Radlett are one of the top teams in Hertfordshire - they host Middlesex first XI games occasionally. Radlett's first team, are in the Premier Division and I saw that their first team is at home this week too. In the Premier Division, there are a few professional cricketers, for example, I know Owais Shah plays for Welwyn Garden City, and I saw that Radlett's first team will be playing against West Herts. So I checked West Herts to see if they have any notable players, and then I saw Jaahid Ali's name there! What a coincidence. The third team's pitch is adjacent to 1st team ground so there's a very strong chance I'll be seeing him this Saturday :)

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) had figures of 12.2-6-19-2 and seems he didn't bat in the successful chase.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) played Mansoor Amjad's team (Rishton CC) and Ghulam scored 69 off 77 and had bowling figures of 3-1-9-1 in an easy win for Haslingden. Mansoor Amjad had figures of 14-0-61-2 and was out for 2 off 10 balls.

Shahzaib Hasan (Blackheath CC) scored 176 off just 135 balls and, understandably, didn't bowl in an easy win for his team.

Asad Ali (Beckenham CC) scored 2 off 4 balls, was run out late in the innings, and had bowling figures of 8.3-1-38-3 as his team won.

Jaahid Ali (West Herts CC) was out for 13 off 19 balls and had bowling figures of 6-1-28-1 as his team beat Radlett by 37 runs. I was also at Radlett, playing their 3rd XI, when I went to the main clubhouse to get the drinks for the drinks break, that's when I saw Jaahid Ali. Funny story, I said to him "I'm a big fan of yours" and his reply was something along the lines of "I only got 13 runs, so you won't be a fan of me today" was a lovely guy.

Sunday 05 August:

Asif Zakir scored 42 off 89 balls and had bowling figures of 4-0-18-0 as his team lost by 3 wickets.

I play in the same league as him and he had equally good season last year. In my experience playing for 10 years in Devon no pro has dominated the league as much as he has.

Fawad Alam (Clitheroe CC) had figures of 15-5-23-2 and scored 19* off 15 balls in the successful chase.

Asif Zakir (Burnley CC) scored 28 off 83 balls but the scorecard still says match in progress where the opposition were 16-3 off 9 overs, Asif Zakir hadn't bowled yet so what happened in that match and why the scorecard still says match in progress is anyone's guess.

Kamran Ghulam (Haslingden CC) scored 57 off 86 balls and had figures of 6.1-1-9-3 in a comfortable victory for his team.

Mansoor Amjad (Rishton CC) bagged a 7 ball duck and bowled 1 over, giving away 6 runs as his team got absolutely slaughtered.

Muhammad Irfan (Hornchurch CC) had figures of 8.4-1-34-3 and scored 18 off 10 in the chase as his team won.

Sadaf Hussain (Berkswell CC) had figures of 10-0-19-4 and wasn't needed to bat in the successful chase.

Saeed bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) came up against Samiullah Khan's team (Burnmoor CC) and it was Castle Eden who came out on top in a low scoring thriller. Khan got a 2 ball duck but had figures of 14.2-4-46-4 and also got out Saeed, who got a 4 ball duck.

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) had figures of 7.5-1-20-2 and scored 81* off 84 balls in the successful chase.

Yasir Ali (Elworth CC) had figures of 11.3-2-32-4 and scored 44* off 42 balls in the successful chase, quite a good day for him.

Qaiser Ashraf (Wakefield Thornes CC) scored 28 off 18 balls and had bowling figures of 12-0-64-2

Awais Zia was out for 1 off 9 balls and had bowling figures of 12.5-0-35-2 but his team lost a thriller by 1 wicket.

There weren't that many Pakistani players in action this week, it seems quite a lot of players have gone back to Pakistan, and even the Pakistanis that are still involved, their games would have been affected by rain on Saturday.

Getting to the tail end of the UK club cricket season now.

Looking at the scores, most of the Pakistani players have returned to Pakistan to prepare for the domestic season. For those that stayed behind the UK weather ruined the fixtures.

As Saj bhai was saying, not many players had a game, but for those who did play, here are Saturday's performances:

Awais Zia (Aston Hall CC) had a good day, scoring 100 of 89 balls and having good figures of 13-0-52-3 as his team won against a team who had Vusi Sibanda, who played International Cricket for Zimbabwe.

Faisal Iqbal (Sandford CC) came up against Faizan Riaz (Plymouth CC) and it was Plymouth who won by 6 runs. Riaz smashed 151* off just 131 balls, Faisal Iqbal had figures of 4-0-32-1. Iqbal scored 51 off 66 in the chase, Riaz had bowling figures of 10-1-45-2. What a game of cricket that must have been.

Saeed bin Nasir (Castle Eden CC) scored 76* off 89 balls, and wasn't even needed to bowl as his team won so comfortably, he did take 1 catch though.

Watched that game a bit as my game finished a bit earlier so went to Sandford for this match. People and players from both side were full of praise for Riaz. We are of a opinion in Devon that he must be the best ever player to play for any Devon side. I dont know much about his performances in Domestic back home but surely should get atleast a PSL contract soon.
