Asif Iqbal and Javed Miandad reacting to news related to Imran Khan's disclosures about earnings.

Asif Iqbal

"The 3 year agreement with Kerry Packer was not a confidential agreement; The World Series was played under a proper contract by not only Pakistani but players from other nations"

"Whilst payments may have been different for players from other nations, as far as I know, Pakistan players (Imran Khan, Majid Khan, Zaheer Abbas & Javed Miandad)were given USD$25,000 per series in the World Series"

"Only 2 series were actually played but the contract was for 3 series so everyone was paid accordingly"

Javed Miandad

"I didnt know much about such contracts (Packer) at that time but it was negotiated for us by Majid Khan, Zaheer Abbas and Asif Iqbal"

"We were given USD $25,000 per series for playing in the World Series"

"One thing about county cricket is that they will never disclose what they pay individuals"

"No one can claim that a certain player is paid so much by a county as they will only discuss that with the player involved; they have strict rules and regulations regarding such matters"

This would be peanuts in today's IPL fueled world, even taking into account time value etc

That's not bad money for the 70s and that too in a developing country like Pakistan.
