Pakistan selectors must make fielding an important criterion for the World Cup squad selection

Do you think Pak selectors will consider fielding as one of the reasons for selections in the WC? Often, it is a crucial catch in the knockout phase that gets a team out. I wonder if they assume that all players are equally good or will actually rank them and discussed. This needs to be done in WC at least.

I’m sure it’s a factor they take into consideration.

We did field very well in the Sri Lanka tests so it seems the coaching staff is doing something right.

Most of them are decent fielders properly only one who doesn't look as good is Naseen Shah.

There's never ever been such criteria anywhere in Pakistan even before so won't be happening now either that too with just over a month to the WC.

That is what makes pakistan team more stable and organized before going into Asia Cup and World Cup.

Indeed, it would be a question if Ihsanullah or Asif Ali were anywhere near selection but neither will be making the cut. The XI is more or less set and fielding isn't really an issue.

Pakistan's fielding has been excellent. Their out-cricket was better than NZ's recently. Not sure what OP is talking about?

Ever since Babar has been given the captaincy, our fielding standards have improved. If we can win the WC, that would be due to our fielding.

Haven't been too impressed with Pakistan in the field today.
Shaheen and Naseem both fumbled in the boundary.
Rizwan's also fumbled a few today.

Must have given away 15 plus runs with bad fielding + wides.
