Pakistan is set to witness its third supermoon of the year this evening, offering a stunning celestial display after sunset.
The supermoon will be visible starting at 4:26pm, providing a spectacular view for those eager to gaze at the night sky.
This will be the third of four consecutive supermoons and the brightest by a tiny margin.
At this time, the Moon will be at its closest distance to Earth, approximately 226,000 kilometers away, making it appear larger and brighter than usual.

Astronomers explain that a supermoon occurs when the Moon's orbit brings it closer to Earth, causing it to shine about 14% more brightly and appear 7% larger.

For regions west of the International Date Line, this occured late Wednesday night, while those in New Zealand and further east will see it early Friday morning.
The Moon is expected to appear full for approximately three days, spanning from Tuesday evening to Friday morning.
Additionally, astronomers note that there are occasions when two full moons occur within a single lunar month. When this phenomenon happens, the second moon is referred to as a "Blue Moon," adding another layer of intrigue to the lunar calendar.
