Has he been poor this tournament? Iv only dipped in and out
Yes, he has been poor apart from one innings. They were playing him as opener and makeshift keeper. Also, there was personal bias in that comment as well :p I don't rate Nafay, not impressed by his game and approach. Maaz on the other hand has impressed me not just with the bat but also the ball. He hasn't done a lot this tournament as they had been playing him lower down the order but he has done well with the ball. He definitely deserves a chance in the future, maybe not as an opener given the competition, but can surely do the job Khushdil is doing (or rather not doing).

Really poor finish with the bat for Pakistan

Any bloke who has a good day and scores a 35 ball 80 will make mince meat of this total

No Faisal Akram either. He would be too good for these batters.

This is going to be a test for the Pakistan captain and bowlers

Our boys are now happy with 200-210 only now. 250 should have been targeted against both Bangladesh A and this Adelaide Strikers team.
I think they clearly were trying to hit to that sort of total but the execution was poor.

The Strikers bowlers bowled well at the death tbf

Pakistan’s bowlers have dominated so far in the ongoing match against AS, reducing them to 64/7 after just 10 overs. Shahid Aziz made the first breakthrough, conceding only 10 runs in his two overs with one wicket. Mubasir Khan struck twice, giving away 14 runs in his spell and keeping the pressure on the middle order. Mehran Mumtaz chipped in with 2 crucial wickets for just 20 runs, maintaining tight control. Faisal Akram has been the most effective, claiming two wickets for only 9 runs in his two overs at a miserly economy of 4.50.

Pakistan Shaheens defeat Adelaide Strikers in match 23 of Top End T20 series

Maaz Sadaqat’s century powered Pakistan Shaheens to an emphatic 107-run win over Adelaide Strikers in the 23rd fixture of the Top End T20 Series at the DXC Arena in Darwin on Wednesday evening. This was Shaheens’ third victory in the event, taking their tally to six points from five matches.

After electing to bat first, the opening pair of Maaz Sadaqat and Yasir Khan provided a solid foundation with a 149-run partnership for the first wicket. Yasir was the first to return back to the pavilion after scoring 51 off 35 balls, hitting five fours and a six. This was his second half-century of the tournament.

Left-handed batter Maaz was then joined by Abdul Samad and the pair added 32 runs for the second wicket. 20-year-old Maaz went on to register his maiden century of the tournament, striking 11 fours and two sixes in his 59-ball knock of 104.

Shaheens’ total was further boosted by a quick-fire 25 off 18 balls from Abdul Samad, which included a four and a six as they scored 202 for six in 20 overs.

For Strikers, Harry Manenti claimed three wickets for 31 runs in three overs.

In reply, Strikers lost wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 49 for five in the eighth over. Opening batter Mackenzie Harvey top-scored with a 17-ball 27, laced with five boundaries.

For Shaheens, left-arm spinners Faisal Akram and Mehran Mumtaz bagged two wickets apiece, while right-arm off-spinner Mubasir Khan was the most successful bowler, taking three wickets for 19 runs in three overs.

Pakistan Shaheens will face Nepal on Friday, 22 August, at the same venue. The first ball of the match will be bowled at 7pm.

Scores in brief:

Pakistan Shaheens beat Adelaide Strikers by 107 runs

Pakistan Shaheens 202-6, 20 overs (Maaz Sadaqat 104, Yasir Khan 51, Abdul Samad 25; Harry Manenti 3-31)

Adelaide Strikers 95 all out, 16.1 overs (Mackenzie Harvey 27; Mubasir Khan 3-19, Faisal Akram 2-19, Mehran Mumtaz 2-20)

@shariqnoor what did you say about Sadaqat?
He's utter garbage as of now. You can fawn all you want but any half decent bowling side will walk all over him in his current state. There's a whole lot of difference in scoring against an Italian bowler versus scoring against Mitchell Starc. Needs to put on some muscle and improve his footwork. He can be a decent domestic performer but that's about it for now.

Acha…

Only Babar and Rizwan can score against Starc and cream Italian bowlers..

No. Only Salman Butt could've. The greatest maturing T20 opener with a career SR of 107 that Pakistan produced.
I said what I said responsibly for Salman Butt. Now you will have Maaz Sadaqat making life miserable for you here.

That’s the price you pay for being unrealistically harsh on youngsters.

Lol. Imagine having to put your fate in the hands of Maaz Sadaqat to prove someone wrong in a tournament played by club cricketers. Hahaha.

But I'm sure if he could get training from your ideal T20 opener Salman Butt, he could emulate his 107 SR.

Maaz Sadaqat is one of the brightest prospects in Pakistan.

You need to calm your horses. This unnecessary criticism will come back to haunt you.
