Seeing the start of the Eng vs NZ game, it seems to me NZ will look to preserve net run rate and England will get by and into the semi finals
All in all, I don't think Pakistan should be too disheartened by the world cup performance:
- A couple of shoddy performances against WI and India, but otherwise have been pretty good, even against Aus we played well in moments, but couldn't string it together to win
- I feel the best 4 teams in the WC are England, India, Australia and one of Pak / Bang (whoever wins on Friday). New Zealand, were very fortunate to play SL and Afghanistan on wet / green wickets which enabled them to push their net run rate very far, they may have beaten those two later in the tournament but not by the margins they did
Additionally, South Africa and West Indies both had their beating but could not get over the line.
If you add to this, the difference 1 washout would have made (NZ losing to India or us beating SL) - all in point, really Friday should be in our hands.
I guess we have to brush ourselves down, and build for the next one.
