No better match to watch for the current group of players :)

Inspiration comes in many ways - let's see if this works.

Our Problem against Ind is that we freeze and look like rabbits in the headlights. We needed a Navy guy to come in and play without fear. My biggest gripe with our performances against Ind in big games isnt the losing, there is no shame in losing to a good Ind team, its the pathetic, fear driven performances. Despite what was claimed later, Safaraz did the right thing in the WC by putting Ind into bat( and i am a bat 1st guy in 9/10 games guy) because of the good bowling conditions and uncertainty of D/L, but the level of our bowlers was truly shocking, they totally froze- Hasan in particular was dreadful.

That raises a question, can Shaheen do an Amir?

Rohit, Rahul and Kohli - three right handers at top for India.

Hope Indian squad too watched highlights of that final to note down how not to play.

Do any other one-off wins compare to how much we hype this one?

It's getting embarassing that we are still stuck onto glory from years ago. Let's move forward.

Our batting was shell-shocked that day after what happened in the first innings.

It was like the 2003 World Cup final, when Fakhar Zaman (=Ricky Ponting) polished off the game in the first 50 overs.

He can. He has the ability in him. Question is would he be able to bring in his A game?

Amir was on fire that day. If Shaheen can do anything of the sort, Pakistan will win.

There is no Amir this time, so Indians need not to worry. Shaheen is good but not even close to Amir of 2017.

This would make a brilliant movie plot. If only these guys lived in the real world and stopped embarrassing themselves. Spend less time reminiscing on old victories and more time practising not getting smashed around the park at the death.

You realise Fakhar Zaman was in the navy.

I don't think it's a bad idea. I have been re-watching recent India-Pakistan matches except the CT final to get pumped up :)

I remember before a big exam or performance, some of my friends used to listen to rock music, some prayed, some spoke with their families, some went for a quiet walk. At the end, whatever helps you perform with a calm mind is welcome. Looks like Pak squad is trying the same. Perhaps the team psychologist/mental health coach suggested that.

After months of anticipation, the big day is finally upon us as India and Pakistan take the field in the T20 World Cup. The arch-rivals are set to clash for the first time in more than two years having last faced each other in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

With the high voltage match just hours away, there is excitement on both sides of the border for the marquee encounter. With India's dominant record against Pakistan in both the 50-over and 20-over World Cup, the fans of the Men in Blue are unsurprisingly very confident of their team's chances of coming out victorious.

Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has issued a word of warning to the India fans asking them to not get overconfident of the result and remember what had happened in the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Talking on Sports Tak, Akram said, "I suppose I am all for India to celebrate a day before the match. They haven't even won the match yet but the celebrations have begun. I saw a package where I heard Pakistan getting hammered. Remember, that in 2017, India lost the final of the Champions Trophy. So please celebrate, but not before. If you win the match, definitely celebrate. No problem whatsoever. And the same goes for Pakistan. If they win the match, then watch out for my dance."

The legendary pacer reckons that veteran players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be the biggest threat to the Men in Green going into the big game.

"They have terrific strength; both are experienced players. They've been playing the IPL since ages and for India. They are scoring, and not just in India but all over the world. So yes, it goes without saying how dangerous these two players are. If they don't get out, they will score big," said Akram.

The 2017 Champions Trophy final had seen Pakistan register a comprehensive 180-run victory against India to upset the odds and win the competition for the first time.

In T20 World Cups, the two sides have faced five times and India have won all have five encounters including the final of the inaugural edition in 2007.

I'll take a world cup match where this team doesn't provide us with the cringiest of material, then we can target breaking the streak.

Shouldnt they be watching videos of the oppisition where they are weak instead of watching past glory highlights.

Looks like we are letting this game get in to our heads now.

I'm pretty sure they'll have watched videos of the opposition with the analysts too.

The Champions Trophy 2017 final was probably more of a group bonding and motivational thing.

Ofcourse he would be proud of his achievement. It was stuff of dreams for a captain.

I meant that he must feel awkward to not be part of the current team (in the playing XI) which is watching his (along with that of others) heroics.

He is a trophy winning captain. I don't think he will ever feel awkward. Not many who can say that.
