Pakistan on Friday summoned India’s Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and condemned the “unprovoked ceasefire violations” along the Line of Control that killed three Pakistani civilians. Mohammad Faisal, DG (South Asia & SAARC), said the ceasefire violations are a threat to regional peace.

He alleged that India committed “unprovoked ceasefire violations in Shahkot and Khuiratta sectors on October 24 and due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian Army, three innocent civilians were killed and one was injured“.

Faisal further alleged that the Indian security forces along the LoC and Working Boundary have “continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars, and automatic weapons which still continues“.

Tension between India and Pakistan has spiked after New Delhi withdrew Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and bifurcated it into union territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

This happened after two indians a truck driver and his assistant were killed by militants in kashmir, previous cease fire violation took place after three Indians became victims of target killings in kashmir hope this is not a pattern

If it wasn’t so tragic (the loss of life on both sides) it would be hilarious. Both sides have fired across the LoC 1000s of times yet not once, not even once, has either side admitted that they fired first. They always say it was unprovoked and then they utter the most overused and cringeworthy phrase in Indo-Pak relations - “we gave a befitting reply to.....”.

I am sure the Pak envoy is on his way to Delhi too accused of the same.
