Interesting day today, and a few bowlers got exposed under pressure. There has been a few supposed up and comers like Sameen Gul and Mudasser who have looked a bit suspect, and have proven that they aren't quite good enough at this level.

On the other hand the tournament so far has seen an interesting comparison of Pakistan's established pace bowlers has seen some rise to the occasion and others crumble. Peshawar bowling has been a major strength, teams have found Hasan Ali and Wahab really difficult to handle. In contrast, when Junaid and Irfan's turn came to defend the total they got battered to all corners of the stadium. Are these pointers that Wahab is still one of Pakistan's best options in the pace department in 20 over cricket? Especially bearing in mind Amir got collared bowling for Karachi today as well?

this season, from what ive seen of it has been the poorest in terms of local young talent. harris rauf has looked good, but its more because everyone else has been pretty abject. pak dont need young bowlers, the need young batsmen, and on that front the psl has been terrible.

mudassar is an uber trundler with pretty poor domestic stats, how he is ahead of other bowlers is beyond me. sameen has most likely taken truck loads of wickets on underprepared wickets but his list A and t20 stats show he is less effective on more batting friendly surfaces.

think there needs to be a rethink of foreign players, at the moment local bowling is so strong that each team is stuffing its line up full of foreign batsmen. whilst its understandable it will not help any local talent develop in the long run.

i think there needs to be a rejig whereby only players in their first psl season are considered emerging.

Wahab Riaz was going at 11 runs per over til the 20th over and was only saved by Hasan Ali, who made sure he had to bowl to tail enders and still ended up with an economy of almost 9. Also, Mohammad Amir won Karachi 1 of the 2 matches they have won by bowling a sensational 19th over against Multan, where he gave 3 runs and took 2 wickets after Sohail was dispatched for 20 in the previous over.

Anyway these performances don't matter much as Wahab Riaz has bottled many times at international level and has also conceded 100+ runs in an ODI game. He is only good for these T20 leagues. Usman Shinwari seems to be a bottler at any sort of level and shouldn't be persisted with.

Amir, Hasan, Shaheen and Junaid have delivered when it mattered and will hopefully continue to do so, young bowlers will only learn from their mistakes and gain experience from these kind of situations.

Sohail Tanvir should be in the national team for T20s. He is a gun bowler, there is a reason he's always featuring in T20 leagues.

Please no Tanvir. I am sure we have better options than him.
