10 years down the line, Which team was superior?

I personally feel like we’ve come a long way fast bowling wise. 2012-2015 (save for a period in 2013) was the dark era of our fast bowling, and now Alhamdullilah we’ve turned a corner since CT 2017.

What about batting wise? Babar Azam Vs Umar Akmal? Hafeez Vs Shadab in terms of allrounders? Where does Saeed Ajmal fit into all this?

Has our batting progressed since or is it the same?

2012 team is superior for Sub continent wickets. That team would have been found wanting in MCG and Perth and that team fast bowling attack is inferior to the 2022 bowling attack we have.

If you ask me the 2022 side has far superior bowling but the batting is inferior.

Rizwan and Babar on most days will give you a stable start but seldom put pressure on the opposition particularly when batting first.

Overall 2022 team is better but IMO the 2009-10 sides were probably better with Gul in peak form

2012 team was overall better. Even in bowling you had better spinners back then with Ajmal, Afridi and Hafeez troubling all teams.

It will be really exciting to see how current bowling line does in Tests against Australia in these conditions. They surely will do well but will they be able to do it for a three match series? When is the next Aus tour by the way?

I'd take the 2012 team in Asia and the 2022 team elsewhere.

The current spin attack has nothing on the 2012 one and the 2012 pace attack has nothing on the 2022 one.

This team is obviously better. 2012 team had 2 world class chuckers and still lost comfortably to India and SL .

This team is superior and it isnt even a comparison tbh. Pre-Babar era batting was horrendous. All that team had were quality spinners..thats it. Thats the advantage they have over this team. And even then you have a quality leggie in Shadab today. Fast bowling should not even be mentioned.

This team is a bloody joke, we couldn't chase 139 in the semi final in Sri Lanka. Imagine them in Australia )
