As the title suggests we are playing very less odi cricket till world cup 2023 which is very disappointing considering that we expect babar to break records. 41 odis in four years while there was a time we played 30-40 odis in a calender year. I hope PCB pushes for more odis in the next ftp otherwise if we keep getting this kind of ftp , i doubt babar would be able to play even 250 odis.

Even in this round of FTP, PAK can increase meaningful games - no one will block PCB to convert 2 Test series into 3/4 and 1-3 games ODI series into 5 games.

It’s a trade off between T20I/PSL and other two formats for PCB, .....

All countries are only playing 24 ODIs between May 2020 and March 2022 as part of the ODI league. 3 game ODI series vs 8 different teams. 5 match ODI series are firmly a thing of the past unless we are building up to the WC e.g. 6-8 months to go. There has been none since the WC.

All games in the ODI league are 3 ODIs only.
Number of Tests in each WTC series was decided before it all started and can't be changed.

No surprises, it's a case with every team. Bumrah will also not be able to play many ODI matches. With these T20 events being played so much, ODIs will no longer produce cricketers who have 10,000 runs or 400 wickets.

Yes it seems now u cant get to 10k runs with 37 to 40 average
One needs to maintain an average of 52+

You can always arrange bilaterals - it doesn’t need to be part of any tournament. Do you think IND-AUS playing every year twice under some tournament? Last ENG-NZ Test series wasn’t part of WTC.

Unless we accept that PCB gives (ok, gave - present regime still is too young to be judged) a damn for the other two formats, things won’t improve - there is absolutely no reason PAK should play less Test/ODI compared to SRL or BD. Last AUS trip in UAE had three rubbish T20s and 2 Tests - none would have blocked PCB to convert that a 3 Test series instead of those useless T20s. Not even now, in 2010, PAK hosted AUS in UK and played two Tests, two T20s.

FTP is like that because PCB was happy, they didn’t ask for more - ICC doesn’t have any animosity with PCB that they’ll block them playing more Tests/ODIs. Last BD tour of NZ was converted to three Tests, last one in exchange of 3 T20s as BCB requested - NZCB agreed. FTP is no bible or law that that you need to pass it through parliament. Every year, for 10 weeks, PAK players suck fingers during IPL ..... and PCB arranges Faisal Bank & PAK Cup .....

Why T20 runs roost in PAK cricket & sponsored by PCB - there is a reason for that definitely. Some people are suddenly opening mouth - we might see some lights, wait for it.

Source?

We need that bro

These schedules are usually a template and not reality. I am sure they may end up playing more. Where did you guys get the info from anyway? And how many ODIs are being played by other sides?

It's from the ICC FTP. Yes, it's not set in stone as such and there can be small changes here and there but it is fairly accurate in terms of the available windows for tours, etc. Though we can expect some more drastic changes this time around in light of the coronavirus situation.
