The series will be played from 13 to 26 November; Afghanistan will be the third side.

Lahore, 31 July 2024:

The Pakistan men’s U19 cricket team will take on Afghanistan and hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a 50-over tri-series from 13 to 26 November.

Pakistan will face the UAE in the event opener (venue to be confirmed in due course) with the tournament to be played on a double-league format and the top two sides qualifying for the final.

This series will be played in the build up to the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024 and will provide an excellent opportunity to the three sides to finalise their preparations for the competition, whose details will be announced by the ACC in due course.

With the PCB National U19 Cup (one-day) and Championship (three-day) due to commence in October, these events will be good platforms and opportunities to the emerging and talented cricketers to perform consistently so that they can impress the selectors and strengthen their claims for the tri-series and the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup selection.

PCB Director International, Usman Wahla:

“We are delighted that the Pakistan Men’s U19 team will be taking part in a highly competitive U19 tri-series in the UAE just before the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup. This will be a great opportunity for the young players to grow and nurture their skills.

“The PCB is thankful to the Emirates Cricket Board for arranging this tri-series which also shows strong bilateral ties between both the Boards and our shared commitment towards developing young players.”

Why not send the U19 to Australia or England for better preparation with respect to movement and bounce?

and what's the point of U19 when 80% of the players from the previous batch is not getting selected in even grade II tournaments?

I agree but the positive thing is PCB is arranging tours for the U19 team and for Shaheens as well. Something is better than nothing.

Why isn't Ali Raza in the team if he isn't playing the QeA trophy  Also that Shamyl kid.

I don't know how they picked the other new guys in the team as only Usman Khan and Farhan Yousuf has played U16 and U19 cricket , rest of the guys didn't play any U19 or U16 tournaments.

Usman averages over 100 with S/R of 98 in U16 OD competition and Farhan Yusuf even though played only 4 U19 games is averaging over 60 with S/R 77.

Haroon Arshad seems to have good connections, The guy looked out of sorts with the bat in the last U19 worldcup.

The guys who have already played in u19 shouldn't be picked. There is no logic to it. Saad baig was a good captain but one of the worst player along with his friend haroon arshad. They both are there.

Good luck to Faham Ul Haq. Glad to see Kaptaan's son is in the squad.

Heard he is an allrounder, so lets how he performs.

Interestingly, Faham bats left handed and bowls right handed, which means he is good with both hands, this plays a very big advantage in your batting.

Tayyab has real talent and if in a system that has an organised pathway, he would become a good international player. Let's hope he fulfils his potential.

Pakistan U19 gearing up for the upcoming matches with a determination to not repeat the mistakes made earlier.

Apparently one bowler from this squad bowled 140k at trials and then was asked to pay money in order to get selected for regional U19 team , the guy wrote a written letter to chairman and it resulted in whole domestic U19 tournament get postponed and the guy directly got in to the national U19 team , quiet a sensational news lol.
