It may sound hurtful but issue is much larger here, tbh none of your batsmen really have the talent or what you say 'cricketing smarts' to become a successful odi team.
Your bowling is alright and death bowling is superb but when it comes to batting the cupboard is bare.

You have to learn to bat in odis , the art of rotating strike isnt all about talent. Babar azam is a good find but every once in a while he likes to take unnecessary risks and some never want to rotate strike and hit big.

That requires batting intelligence and a culture has to be built around for your batsmen to acquire that intelligence. Most of these guys have played tape ball cricket before fc cricket
And everyone knows that tape ball cricket is a massive slog-fest as far as batting is concerned. These batsmen only learn to slog the ball in their formative years instead of looking for deft singles. Same continues in fc cricket which spills over to international cricket as well.
