Malik is the only one who failed in this match. Absolutely correct. Everyone else played their best.

Come on now... Misbah smashed a superb 21 & 33 in this match, Farhat aka Bradman scored a 1/4 century in both innings, Butt did what Butt does.

Overall I think Malik was the only one at fault because he just didn't contribue with that 1/4 century we needed in both innings.

Yup it is a batting paradise.

Probably will be good for the first 3 days and then will start wearing away slowly but surely.

It won't crumble like a typical subcontinent pitch but I think it will crumble. Although looking at the last match played there it might just stay flat throughout the match.

Hopefully that doesn't happen cause that will mean it's going to end in a draw.

Pak has to play a lot of tests in the next few months. So Inshallah we will be ready for the challenge.

no..go out side, find a tennis ball and throw catches for good 1 hr..and for each catch they drop, keep adding 15 mins to practice..and trust me, if they do that, they wont drop a single catch next time.

Congratulations ..Pakistan win their first test match since 2006 ( Vs Windies We Won 2-0). Won here at basin reserve, wellington against new zealand by 141 runs. Series is now nicely levelled at 1-1...should be fun to watch the 3rd and final test at napier.

Well done to the following; Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Aamer, Umar Gul, Kaneria, Umar Akmal, skipper Mohammed yousaf and Kamran Akmal.

Misbah and malik really need to go but realistically and sadly only one of them will be dropped not both. Anyways that would be malik and he should really make way for hasan raza or asim kamal but both these players are not in the squad. Which leaves us with fiasal iqbal but i will take him atleast he has better technique than malik at test level even though fiasal is inconsistent in test format.

Actually, we win the 2nd test in SA a month or two after that series. That win was our last.

I think Moyo should play Aamer, Asif and Gul nonetheless (maybe Tanvir instead of Gul if he's in squad)

Malik, Misbah, Butt and Farhat should be replaced by specialist openers if there are any or specialist batsmen atleast...we will really need batsmen there and we don't want Malik (or other useless players) to perform on a dead pitch and retain position for the next series

by the way, I think Moyo giving the ball to malik for an over was a signal for malik to "give me a wicket as this is your last hope to stay for the next match otherwise I will be forced to replace you as you are worthless"

It was good to see this match without weather interruptions. That was one fear really.
NZ batting is really weak I think. Plus Pak has gained genuine talent in Aamir and Asif is also back. I don't see NZ winning the next test. At best they will be able to draw, but that also might be a stretch.
