Mahela tempting Younis to hit big and get his 150 ... but he takes a single.
 
Best way to get revenge from the Lankans is to make them field for 200-300 overs. Literally drain them, suck their blood.

Hopefully Younis can get a double or Triple ton tomorrow.

Rameez talking to Shoaib Malik ... frustrated by the runout ... I was suicidal, Test cricket not affordable a run out. I always play for my team and not about captaincy! I was getting a lot of confidence and looking forward to the following matches.

Brilliant application shown today from the boys in the middle! Considering we have not played test cricket for a long time I was pleased to see that switching into Test mode was not a problem for Younis Malik and Misbah! I was worried before the match that may be we could struggle to spend time at the crease but good to see that it was not a problem :)

Looking at tomorrow, well Younis and Misbah need to try and play out the first session, get us close to the follow on score and then hopefully the likes of Akmal and Faisal Iqbal can ensure that we draw this match!

Pakistan need to start a fresh tomorrow and graft hard and wait for bad balls to put away!

Very well played. Younis and Malik did a great job of getting us out of deep trouble. Misbah and Younis have to finish the job.

How are we supposed to win after sri lanka stacked up 650?

Its been a really good effort from the boys and skip in particular led from the front.

Inshallah the current duo can play out the morn session themselves and bat most of the day.

Hopefully though we will have a better wicket for the next game and a positive result

idk why guys but i still belive Pakistan can win this match if 2 of our players make a double century on this wicket. We need Misbah to play hard and play sensibly in the next session. Younis Khan and Misbah are our only hope to make us reach at least 400. Then from there on we need two great knocks by F I and Kamran Akmal. Both atleast making a half century. we Got allot of batting ahead of us if We can bat this out we could win. Inshallah Pakistan can do it. And I hope we all pray for our victory for this one. OUr Players really need it :)
 
no they are not gonna win i know that but doesnt mean you have to play so slow. it is just terrible. if you are happy with this you are dumber then you look. sri lanka were on about 470+ at this stage. but pakistan have taken the test match to a whole different stage. this is like a super test.
 
GREAT to see these guys play well.. great innings by younis.. Malik batted exceptioally well too. Good to hear some pleasant words for younis from shoaib Malik.. Looks at ease now after captaincy being taken away, can focus a lot more on his game.. Well played pakistan.. Hope you do the same tomorrow..

yes we can win. by the end of day 5 we will take the lead. we declare at lunch on day 6 and see where we go from there.

THEY ARE PLAYING TO SLOW FOR A RESULT!!!!

pakistan set out fr a draw from day 2 (after ass whooping in day 1)
 
Very well plaed Pakistan!!! Younis batting superbly, Misbah giving a helping hand on the other side and there still three more batsman to come!!!

After Sri Lanka scored 650 runs, there was a zero probability of Pakistan being able to win the test match. Therefore we rightfully went for the second best alternative which was to draw it and we still need to carry on the good work to be out of danger.

I KNOW. BUT TO DRAW YOU DONT HAVE TO PLAY SLOW. I KNOW THAT WE COULDNT WIN BUT STILL YOU CAN PLAY SOME SAFE CRICKET AND MAKE IT ATTACKING. 4 run rate is not too mcuh to ask. i understand pakistan couldnt have won it but they can show some positives aswell.

Test cricket aint about how fast you score the runs although it helps. If you wanna watch quick runs watch 20-20


Pak are playing according to the situation-taking time out of the game.

Scoring at 4-5 an over means playing more shots and increases risk. When we cant win the game their is no need to take risks.

Learn the game b4 making silly comments

I think we went about it pretty well. We could've lost some wickets attacking Murali and Mendis. The team can't always play to please the spectators. They are working towards a draw , and we should just watch them do that. It's a good effort anyway.

Attacking bowlers like Murali and Mendis is not easy. If we lost just 2 more wickets, our lower order would be exposed. The strategy we adopted today was the right one.
 
Good day for Pak test cricket. YKs form is important and he has recieved good support from the others.

Pitch is placid but SL have a long time to attack - I expect Pakistan to hold on until tea time tomorrow to make this game safe.

Savak no need to argue with that kinda person. He thinks test cricket is easy to play and hit sixes. I wonder how long he'd last out there on the pitch :)))

And he thinks it's really easy to face Mendis and Murali. Wow I haven't heard of a single professional cricketer saying that but he has already..

no you dont have to take risks. it can be done with one's and twos.
i know the game very well. i agree that they are trying to save the test but you dont have to go so slow. maybe you are the one who needs to learn the game.

just because i said we need to score at a faster rate doesnt mean we will lose wickets. these are professionals surely they know how to make an extra 1-2 runs an over.

It was the perfect strategy. It is a slow pitch, but not THAT easy to bat on. There was no chance of pak wining this one. Even now, we are not completely out of trouble. MisBah and YK must play out the first session at least.

it's probably the most positive and direct comment (or the closest thing to mental disintegration as steve waugh would say) i've heard from a pakistani captain this decade.

Great day For Pakistan and they did what I said yesterday, not lose more than 2 wickets!

Captains Knock from Younis and a great Contribution From Malik has evened the game out a little bit! Pakistan need to do the same tomorrow if they are to save this match as currently Sri Lanka are still on top!
If Pakistan Can avoid The Follow on without losing more than 1 wicket the match will be set out wonderfully!!
We are in a for a interesting day tomorrow as it could decide who wins or Who draws the match!!

If Sri Lanka get a few wickets early on tomorrow Pakistan will be in a very tricky situation BUT if Pakistans best two batsmen there at the Crease can carry on and Misbah gets a big un It would make it a little difficult for Sri Lanka to win the game!

We are set for a cracking day tomorrow and it could decide which way the Match goes! Either or a Draw or a Win for Sri Lanka!
 
Great batting performance by YK!! Captain on a roll here... n good contribution from Malik as well..
