Pakistan's demise hasn't been because of batting but rather the bowling.

Amir, Wahab, Rahat, JK, Irfan, Gul have all been mediocre in the last 2 years and Ajmal + Hafeez got banned. Pakistan's strength is now its weakness. 3 years back scoring 70 runs against Pakistan in the death was a big deal, this day teams do it often.

Its hard for teams to recover when two of your key offies gets banned and your bowlers lose their form. Look at how BD are struggling against Afghanistan right now. Our batsman are off-form and our two key bowlers had to remodel their actions. And this was the same side that made Pak, India, SA sweat.

I think this was quite clear during the Lord's Test and also the Oval test where Yasir and Wahab bowled with attacking mindset. Even your country mate MMHS wrote a long post on difference in Yasir when attacking and defending

Pitches are also a factor. You can't score like that in UAE/WI/SL. The pitches are not conducive for fast scoring.

We are not going to produce stroke makers on these wickets. Bazid was very right earlier in the day, when he talked about why we are so far behind in ODI, these wickets does not allow batsmen to play stokes, avg score is 250/260, where as rest of the world its 330... We are shooting on our foot with these pitches...These pitches is one of the main reason we are so bad at playing seamers and left behind in LOIs
