Should be used to test the bench strength, so something like this:

1. Shan Masood
2. Imam Ul Haq (rotate with Abid Ali)
3. Haris Sohail/Saad Ali
4. Umar Akmal
5. Shoaib Malik (unfortunately)
6. Rizwan (unfortunately)
7. Faheem Ashraf
8. Imad Wasim
9. Amir
10. Abbas
11. Hasnain

1.Shan Masood
2.Imam Ul Haq
3.Haris Sohail
4.Umar Akmal
5.Shoaib Malik
6.Mohammad Rizwan
7.Imad Wasim
8.Faheem Ashraf
9.Mohammad Hasnain
10.Mohammad Abbas
11.Yasir Shah (unfortunately no other spinner selected )

Full strength?

Imam ul-Haq
Shan Masood
Haris Sohail
Shoaib Malik
Umar Akmal
Imad Wasim
Mohammad Rizwan+
Faheem Ashraf
Mohammad Amir
Yasir Shah
Junaid Khan

Saad and Abbas should play at least the last two ODIs though. Regardless of who is winning.

So annoying how there's no proper spinner.

I see this series as a shootout between:
- Shan vs Abid for backup opener
- Haris vs Umar for middle order bat
- Amir vs Junaid as new ball pacer

Also I wanna see Rana jee given responsibility to deliver with the bat and ball.

And obviously, whether Hasnain is ready to take to the World Cup.

Give Abid Ali a chance at one drop, ahead of Haris Sohail who might not be fit enough to play the whole WC, so unfit and injury prone.

All gd except the Junaid amir one, think they will both be in the WC squad.

Whats the point playing Amir. He is SURE to be on the plane to the UK.

Instead of Amir should have selected a genuine spinner.

Shocking really..

Bro, abid ali is also a wicketkeeper. So if abid opens no need for rizwan. Play an extra batsman at number 6!!

Feel it's a mistake to rest so many players. Even if players perform will they actually make the team? Unlikely.

1. Imam Ul Haq
2. Umar Akmal
3. Masood
4. Haris Sohail
5. Malik
6. Rizwan
7. Imad
8. Yasir Shah
9. Amir
10. Junaid
11. Abbas

Shan
Imam
Haris
Malik (c)
U Akmal
Rizwan (wk)
Imad
Fahim
Hasnain
Abbas
Amir / Junaid / Yasir (rotate)

Do not see the point of playing Saad & Abid at this stage.

Should go full strength upfront looking at the recent form of Aussie team, giving chances to new players in the last 2 matches.

Don't know why Yasir Shah is selected? Given that we can not play 4 pacers against Australia in UAE, unfortunately he will play all matches.

Team will be:

Imam Ul Haq
Shan Masood
Haris Sohail
Umar Akmal
Shoaib Malik(C)
Mohammad Rizwan(Wk)
Imad Wasim
Faheem Ashraf
Mohammad Amir
Yasir Shah
Junaid Khan

Abid Ali
Shan Masood/Imam ul Haq
Umar Akmal
Shoaib Malik(c)
Saad Ali/Haris Sohail
Mohammad Rizwan(wk)
Imad Wasim
Yasir Shah
Junaid Khan/Faheem Ashraf
Mohammad Hasnain/Mohammad Amir
Mohammad Abbas/Usman Khan

One thing everyone should know by now that Pakistan will not play Hasnain until maybe the 4th or 5th game if the series is not on the line.

Along with Rizwan, I would have taken Umar Siddiq along too and try them both rotating them around. Rizwan off late has really regressed since he first came onto the scene as he looks completely out of depth in the batting department.

I do not see Abid getting in either unless one of the openers is terrible as I see Shan debuting and playing all the 5 games and same for Imam.

As for Abid's selection, I find it really bizzare as if there is one format he should be named in is maybe Tests where he can get a look in but for ODI's with a List A SR of 79 I am not so sure what they are looking at as always Pakistan pick players in the wrong formats.

i don't see australia winning the series cause they have a lot of hitters in the side. This strategy might have worked against india aon batting friendly pitches but this will not work for them on dead uae pitches.

Yes Khawaja and Handscomb are really big power hitters.:))

Pak will unfortunately get smashed ee might win first game but 1-4 or at best 2-3 to Aussies

pakistan once again screwed up by not selecting proper spinners.

seems like they never learn from their mistakes

Excited to see Hasnain!

Also wanting to see how Umar Akmal will play in his comeback match...

Dead series to me. Good for Australia though. How you can give rest to your WC squad? Ridiculous.

Australian ODI team warned about 150km/h teenage bowling sensation Mohammad Hasnain

Former Aussie batsman Shane Watson has warned the ODI squad to prepare for some serious pace from Pakistan bowling sensation Mohammad Hasnain.

Pakistan will play Australia in a five-match series, starting on Friday and Hasnain is expected to make his ODI debut.

Hasnain was clocked deliveries exceeding the 150km/h mark in the Quetta Gladiators' Pakistan Super League final victory.

"I have never seen an 18-year-old bowl at such pace and I think even on the UAE pitches he will be a difficult proposition for the Australian team," Watson said after Hasnain played a starring role for the Gladiators.

"Hasnain’s control over his length and swing is very impressive and he varies his pace very well."

Hasnain took 3-30 in four overs in a man-of-the-match performance in the final against Peshawar Zalmi.

"I prefer getting my wickets via yorkers or bouncers," Hasnain said after the match.

"I have always been a fast bowler and I hope to bowl even faster.

"I want to do well in the ODIs against Australia, maybe get a spot in the World Cup squad as well."

Quetta captain Sarfraz Ahmed described Hasnain's pace as "very impressive".

"He has the ability to surprise the batsmen on any surface," Ahmed said.

Umar Akmal must play in top 5 or don’t bother. Ideally 4. Been saying this since his debut. Look how well he did in PSL then they moved him to 5 and he didn’t perform

Australia will hit us hard, need to hit back with best squad we have or will effect confidence ahead of World Cup

Umar akmal must stay away from the 11.Hes a mindless slogger nothing more and it gets worse under pressure
Yasir Shah ahead of umer khan/zafar is pathetic, dont they want to throw these guys to the top level and see what theyre made of. I mean this was a very good opportunity. In fact UAE gives u the chance to play 2 spinners😠

When will we ever get a decent selector? Heard about how Inzi was the saviour and we would finally see good selections and then we get Yasir as the only specialist spinner in an ODI squad when he hasn't performed that well with the white ball in hand for the past few months. Meanwhile an up and coming youngster in Umer Khan has delivered great performances in PSL which was just concluded a day or two ago and the selectors fail to see him. Appalling. On top of that series is in UAE not Aus so they should have emphasised two specialist spinners as well.

Why Inzi has so much faith on Yasir? Either Inzi doesn't have clue of Yasir's ODI performance or capabilities or he intend to help senior players by giving them so many chances.

We will win this series because its being played in UAE where Aussies will struggle.

I expect them to play a strong team or something like this:

1. Shan Masood
2. Imam-ul-Haq
3. Haris Sohail
4. Shoaib Malik
5. Umar Akmal
6. Mohammad Rizwan
7. Imad Wasim
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Mohammad Amir
10. Yasir Shah
11. Mohammad Hasnain

Personally would want to see Saad Ali, Mohammad Abbas play.

I was hardly positive before the India v Australia series, now I'm even less so :))

aussies have beat us before in the uae......twice...

3/3 in fact.

Aussies will win this series 5-0 or 4-1 at worse.

Hope the pitch is good for batting and Haris gets his 1st ODI hundred.

I know but this is a different Pakistan side. We have a solid top 4 in,

Fakhar/Imam
Shan
Babar
Harris

Australia struggled against us in T20s in UAE recently. Although we are a spinner short, but still we should win this series.

I think Pakistan are already trying out bench strength and it is definitely the right way forward. Have their best team set up for the England series and then...the WORLD CUP!

Cummins rested from training, XI unclear

Pat Cummins' workload and Nathan Lyon's illness form part of an intriguing selection puzzle confronting Australia in the UAE.

Cummins and Lyon were notable absentees from Australia's first training session after the squad's arrival in Dubai for a five-match ODI series against Pakistan.

Cummins was restricted to gym work on Tuesday and is fully expected to be rested at some point during the series, which starts on Friday and spans 10 days.

Any sort of setback for him would represent a doomsday scenario for Australia, especially with Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood both recovering from injuries ahead of this year's World Cup and Ashes.

Cummins, arguably the most important player in Australia's World Cup defence, is yet to enjoy a break of substance since being rested from the home ODI series against India in January.

The returns of Kane Richardson and Nathan Coulter-Nile, both absent from the side's past three ODIs against India, has given Australia more flexibility when it comes to resting Cummins.

Lyon, recovering from gastro, was also told not to train on Tuesday.

Shaun Marsh's return, which coach Justin Langer flagged will come at some point in the UAE, is another potential change that could be made to the XI that defeated India in last week's series decider.

Winning the series against Pakistan is the short-term goal for selectors but settling on the 15-man World Cup squad is also at the forefront of their minds.

"It's a great place to be, everyone's playing well," Marsh said.

"A lot of competition for spots. The most important thing is the team is playing well and we're winning games of cricket again."

Langer's message to the squad in recent months has been to not focus on World Cup selection but that'll become harder as the April 23 deadline edges closer.

Selectors are expected to meet in early April to settle on the 15-man World Cup squad plus the national contract list, which is set to be headed by Cummins.

"It [the World Cup] is really close," leg-spinner Adam Zampa said.

"Throughout my short career I've found it can change really quickly. I started my career really well but I've had some ups and downs.

"I know what it's like to be in and out of the team and be dropped from the squad altogether, so just trying to make the most of my position."

Zampa felt his and Australia's best performance in India was the Delhi decider, a positive sign given it was the most pressure-laden game on that tour.

I think Rizwan is not going to do THAT bad in this series. Don't forget that his "a" tours have been in the uae and he's performed really well.

Glenn Maxwell illness complicates Australia’s first one-day international plans

Illness is complicating Australia’s plans for their ODI series opener against Pakistan, with Glenn Maxwell unable to train on Wednesday.

Maxwell was a notable absentee from Australia’s main session in Sharjah prior to Friday’s five-match series opener at the same venue.

It came a day after Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon were both told to skip training. Lyon had been floored by the same bug that Maxwell is now struggling with, while Cummins was managed because of workload concerns.

The outstanding form of Khawaja, who outscored Virat Kohli during a recent record-breaking series in India, and Warner’s looming return have complicated the situation.

The most likely outcome is Khawaja will bat at first drop but Finch, having batted twice at No.5 during last year’s ODI series in England, has vowed to do whatever is best for the team.

“If that means me batting at six, I’ll comfortably do that. If it’s at the top, three or four - it doesn’t matter,” Finch said.

“Personal results aren’t what this side is about. I think that’s what has made our improvement as dramatic and quick as it has been.

“If you go in just solely focused on scoring a hundred or thinking ‘if I bat five I’m not got to get a hundred, I don’t get enough opportunity’, that’s not what is best.”

Aaron Finch insists he won't be losing sleep over a potential rematch with Australia's tormentor from last year’s Test series in the UAE, record-breaking quick Mohammad Abbas.

The paceman of modest build and pace who preyed on Australian batsmen with relentless accuracy and subtle movement during Pakistan's 1-0 Test series victory in October is in the frame to make his one-day international debut in the upcoming five-match series.

Abbas took 17 wickets in two Tests as he peaked with an historically-great bowling average of 15.64 after 10 Tests at the conclusion of that campaign.

The right-armer could get his chance against Australia after Pakistan picked him in a depleted 16-man squad, though he faces stiff competition from the Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, Usman Shinwari and teen prodigy Mohammad Hasnain.

If extending Finch's lean trot with the bat, which admittedly showed signs of ending when the opener pumped 93 against India in Ranchi two weeks ago, is a priority for Pakistan, they may well be tempted to blood Abbas.

Finch fell three times to the metronomic quick in his debut Test series, while fellow ODI squad members Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh (twice) both fell victim to Abbas.

But Finch pointed out the change in format would provide a fresh challenge for the 29-year-old former welder.

"He had some great success with the red ball in the Test matches against us," said Finch. "He bowled very consistently, just moved the ball enough each way.

"But I think it'll be totally different conditions, different format. Your mindset is definitely a bit different as a batter in one-day cricket.

"That'll be a good challenge again though, there are a few guys in our side who he did have some success against. So it's about coming up with a plan for him."

Finch is quietly confident a return to the kind of one-day form fans have come to expect from him aren't far off, noting that he also made an important contribution to an 83-run opening partnership with Khawaja in the second ODI in Nagpur.

The right-hander has copped his share of good deliveries across both Test and ODI formats, most notably a handful of balls that have shaped into him and threatened his stumps from the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Japsrit Bumrah.

The type of ball Abbas has used to trouble some of the world's best.

"I think if you see some replays, you'd suggest so," Finch said when asked about if he feels vulnerable against bowlers like Abbas.

"But I've been working hard on that. I feel like I've made some really good progress in the last couple of weeks, just tinkering with a few things.

"You're going to face a lot of guys moving the ball both ways, so it's just going to be important to stick to my game plan."

Despite missing the likes of Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan, Finch is also wary of Pakistan's other bowling threats.

Leggie Yasir Shah has had success against Australia in Test cricket, Shinwari impressed in his maiden KFC BBL stint with champions Melbourne Renegades this summer while Hasnain was this week flagged by former Australia allrounder Shane Watson as the quickest teenager he's ever seen.

"They've still got a lot of quality players and you can't just afford to focus on one player," said Finch.

"It's a bit like India - if you put too much focus on Virat Kohli you then forget about Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and these guys.

"So it's important you put as much time and effort into every player and make sure your plans are as solid as they can be."

Rejuvenated Australia seek to build on recent gains

With Pakistan having rested several senior players, Australia should be well-placed to continue the good work started in India when they clash in the first one-day international on Friday, 22 March.

Just a month ago, Australia were a dwindling force, with serious questions to answer ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019. Defeat to India at home came after a string of disappointments in a format they are the reigning world champions in.

Then, they came to India when nobody gave them a chance and went 0-2 down. But they bounced back remarkably to win the next three games and clinch the series – their first series win in ODIs since January 2017. Now, they are once again a team to be wary of, having sent out a timely reminder of why they are five-time World Cup winners.

So much changed for Australia in that India series. Aaron Finch ended a run drought with his first fifty-plus score in ten innings. Usman Khawaja has laid serious claim to the opening slot for the first time since being recalled to the ODI side with two centuries and a 90 against India. With their return to form, Australia now suddenly seem to possess a potent top-order.

Glenn Maxwell, who has been in outstanding form lately, is now the lynchpin of the middle order. Peter Handscomb is starting to peak at the right juncture. Ashton Turner created huge impact in very short time, and played the innings of the series against India.

Usman Khawaja's good form has bolstered Australia's top-order might Usman Khawaja's good form has bolstered Australia's top-order might

This is an era when wrist-spinners have a direct say in teams winning, and Australia have found theirs in Adam Zampa. There’s also Nathan Lyon, who has evolved into one of the world’s leading spinners, and Pat Cummins, who has become a workhorse, winning matches with bat and ball.

The only thing ailing Australia is a stomach bug that has hit the team since arriving in the UAE. It has already cast doubt over Maxwell’s participation in the first ODI. Lyon also missed training on Tuesday, although he may be good to go now and partner Zampa to form a two-pronged spin attack. Australia will also welcome the return of Nathan Coulter-Nile, who had missed the last three ODIs against India for the birth of his second child.

Pakistan might be No. 6 in the MRF Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings, but don’t let that fool you. They haven’t lost a series in the UAE since 2015, blanking West Indies and Sri Lanka, and holding a powerful New Zealand side to a 1-1 draw.

However, they are missing several key players for this series. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, top-order batsmen Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam, leg-spinner Shadab Khan, and fast bowlers Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi have all been rested. Mohammad Hafeez has also not been considered as he continues to recover from thumb surgery. Shoaib Malik will assume captaincy duties in Ahmed’s absence.

Umar Akmal will don Pakistan colours for the first time in over two years Umar Akmal will don Pakistan colours for the first time in over two years

With so many big names out, it puts Umar Akmal in line for his first international for Pakistan since January 2017. Akmal, who was sent back from the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 after failing a fitness test, was recalled for this series. Pakistan have also included Test regulars Yasir Shah and Mohammad Abbas, uncapped 31-year-old Abid Ali, and Mohammad Hasnain, the 18-year-old right-arm medium-pacer, all of whom lend freshness to the squad.

Key players

Shoaib Malik (Pakistan): The onus is on Pakistan’s stand-in captain to shepherd the squad in the absence of so many senior players. At 37, Malik continues to be of immense utility to the Pakistan side. This series will also be an opportunity for him to rectify a middling record against Australia – 567 runs in 23 innings at 27 and a strike-rate of 60.

Pat Cummins has become Australia's MVP with his back-breaking spells Pat Cummins has become Australia's MVP with his back-breaking spells

Pat Cummins (Australia): The fast bowler is undoubtedly Australia’s most valuable player at the moment. From an injury-prone rookie with immense talent, Cummins has evolved into an untiring bowling machine, holding up for long periods of time as he bends his back and generates pace. Cummins can also hold fort with the bat and finish off games, as he demonstrated in the first T20I against India, when he walked in with seven balls remaining and finished off a tough chase, with Australia requiring 14 off the last over.

Conditions

The Sharjah Cricket Stadium has for long been Pakistan’s bastion in one-day cricket. Their 83 wins at this ground are by far their highest at any venue, with Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium coming in second with 31 victories. Temperatures are expected to hover around 27°C on Friday.

Squads

Australia: Aaron Finch (c), Jason Behrendorff, Alex Carey (wk), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Peter Handscomb, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Turner, Adam Zampa

Any team with malik as cuptaan hasnt got a chance..heres hoping a few of our new players get together and get us some wins..

I cant believe we have no proper spin choices to rely on.
That too against Australian in UAE

What are the selectors smoking?

For the sake of Pakistan cricket and for our World Cup chances, Harris needs to perform, he's our second best batsman after Babar, no way he should miss out on the World Cup just because he has a poor series, but it could probably happen.

This is a very important series. We will have to endure Malik and Hafeez in WC if Harry and Umar do not perform in this series.

Malik hopes conditions favour new-look Pakistan in Australia ODIs

· “Every series is a tough series so this is another tough series for us,” says Malik

· “Still there are a few places no doubt that are up for grabs,” says Finch

Sharjah, 21 March 2019:

Pakistan’s stand-in captain Shoaib Malik hopes his new-look side will be up for a challenge against a resurgent Australia side as they meet in the first of five one-day internationals in Sharjah on Friday.

Pakistan have rested their six key players – captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi – in order to give them well-deserved rest and allow bench players a chance to grab a spot in the World Cup squad.

Malik hoped the new players - Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Saad Ali, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Hasnain - and recalled Umar Akmal, Yasir Shah and Mohammad Rizwan will take this opportunity.

“Look, every series is a tough series so this is another tough series for us,” said Malik at the trophy unveiling ceremony.

“Australia have come at the back of a series win in India, so their morale will be high, but we have taken a good initiative to check our bench strength and I am sure the conditions in UAE will favour us.”

In the absence of Fakhar, Shan is likely to make his ODI debut after piling runs in domestic one-day matches, against New Zealand ‘A’, England Lions and on the Test tour of South Africa.

There will be a tie between Test specialist Mohammad Abbas and 18-year-old rookie fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain for the one available spot in the pace attack.

Malik admitted Australia were a strong side, who have done well in UAE.

“They play the game in an aggressive style, so we have to match that aggression,” said Malik, who also led Pakistan between 2007 and 2009. “They are a strong team and have everything from fast bowling to spin, so we have to be at our best.”

Paceman Pat Cummins took 13 wickets while leg-spinner Adam Zampa 11 in the series against India. Off-spinner Nathan Lyon is also in the squad.

Pakistan will also look to give ODI cap to one from Mohammad Abbas, a good performer at Test level, and Mohammad Hasnain who has recently impressed with his pace in the recently concluded HBL PSL 2019.

“This is a good opportunity for the youngsters to not only make their name but also vie for the available World Cup spots,” said Malik. “The decision to rest the players, who deserved the rest after playing continuous cricket, was unanimous and a wise one.”

Australia, at the back of a 3-2 series win in India two weeks ago, are not going to take a new-look Pakistan lightly, their captain Aaron Finch said.

“I think Pakistan have obviously played in these conditions for a long time, but coming off the tour of India it is very crucial that we managed to play some really good cricket there,” said Finch.

“Well, they have got a lot of experience in their side and have lot of experience playing in these conditions here in Sharjah. They still a world-class team. We have seen it when we were in Dubai for the T20 series,” said Finch of the 0-3 whitewash in the Twenty20 series in October last year.

“We cannot take them lightly in any form of the game at any time. They are such a highly skilled and talented team, and so we are definitely giving them as much respect as what we gave India and what we give every other country.”

Australia hope all-rounder Glenn Maxwell recovers in time from the flu and take the field on Friday.

Finch, whose team is playing their last series before the defense of their World Cup title begins in England and Wales from 30 May, hopes players compete for the available spots.

“It is about trying to maintain our momentum that we got in India. I think we are starting to get a real strategy in a real game plan and how we want to play one-day cricket and it is just about making sure that we continue in that way.

“Obviously we want to win, that is important but leading into the World Cup and things like that is important to just keep improving the whole time.

“I think when you look through our lists probably I presume 20 players could make that 15. So, still there are a few places no doubt that are up for grabs. It is an important tour for as they are up for grabs and it is an important tour for a lot of us.”

The remaining matches of the series will be played in Sharjah (March 24), Abu Dhabi (March 27) and Dubai (March 29 and 31).

Hasnain should get game time towards the latter half of the series, ditto with Saad Ali.

I simply do not understand why Pakistan not using better spinners ? :13:

Good spinners in middle overs can win games

Why can't Abid Ali keep wickets? He has done it for Pak A in the past in limited overs cricket. It would strengthen Pak's batting line up. Looks very thin at the moment.

Finch says "we can't take pak lightly." Is pct THAT bad that he had to say he's not gonna take them lightly?
I swear these words are reserved for teams that are very, very weak.

It has been problem since Ajmal's exit. Idk why they don't select new performing spinners in LOs

Hope Shan and Abid get big runs this series. Will really shut the door on shehzad for the near future.

What is Yasir Shah?
A spaceman?

Abid Ali is a wicket keeper batsman that should open. Let Imam get some rest. We already know he has booked his spot at the top for the World Cup.

1. Abid Ali (WK)
2. Shan Masood
3. Haris Sohail
4. Umar Akmal
5. Saad Ali
6. Shoaib Malik (C)
7. Imad Wasim
8. Yasir Shah (since there is no other spinner)
9 -11: Three pacers

This way Rizwan doesn't have to play, and all four of Shan, Haris, Akmal, and Saad Ali can play instead of choosing between them. Imam and Rizwan should not play.

This is ideal, but I know this won't happen knowing Mickey and Malik. Malik spoke so highly of Hasnain in the presser but he probably won't even play him at all.

The result of this series is irrelevant - more important is for one or two players to emerge and challenge the regular starters.

I want Haris to perform to shut the door on one of Hafeez or Malik. Carrying them both to the World Cup in our middle order will cost us SF qualification.

Maxwell feeling OK, Cummins may be rested

Glenn Maxwell has recovered from the flu but questions remain as to whether Pat Cummins will be rested from Australia's ODI series opener against Pakistan.

Maxwell was too sick to train on Wednesday, when he was told to skip the tourists' main session for the week.

The allrounder was in better spirits on Thursday, when he had a fluent hit in the Sharjah nets on match eve.

Nathan Lyon, who failed to train on Tuesday because of the same bug, is also in doubt for Friday's clash that starts at 7pm AEDT on Friday.

Cummins has been on restricted duties in recent days.

The paceman is fully expected to be rested at some point in the five-match series against Pakistan, which spans just 10 days.

"Greg (Chappell) has just got here, I haven't spoken to him yet," captain Aaron Finch said, when asked if Cummins would be rested.

"He (Cummins) has shown over the last couple of years how durable he's become.

yasir shah isn't cut out for the shorter format.

on top of that you only have imad wasim as an all rounder and isn't known for spinning the ball

Abbas could really make a claim here if he bowls well with the new ball. He played well vs Aus in a different format but it shows he has the ability.
