I did include Lyon, didn't I?

Shaun Marsh, Lyon and Starc. Those are the 3 players I mentioned.

Mitch Marsh is a good ODI player. But he's a very mediocre test player. Batting avg of 27 and bowling avg of 42 even after 28 tests.

Sorry didn't see Lyon in your post for some reason. I am actually surprised to see that Mitch Marsh has such poor stats, I just assumed he would be averaging at least 40 lol .Despite the poor stats, he did score 150+ in the warm up and I still think that he will be a threat. But yeah Pakistan does have the edge.

My Playing Eleven would be :

1. Azhar Ali
2. Imam ul Haq
3. Mohammad Hafeez
4. Babar Azam
5. Haris Sohail
6. Asad Shafique
7. Sarfraz Ahmed
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Bilal Asif
10. Yasir Shah
11. Mohammad Abass

Not a fan of Bilal. I believe Ashiq and Ahmed esp Ahmer Ejaz need to be groomed. But at present Bilal is experienced enough.

Wahab has terrible game for Pakistan A hence he would miss out for Me (unfortunately) otherwise his pace is handy. Junaid Khan should have played for Pakistan A if his knees have completely recovered. He has fine test record in subcontinent.

Hafeez ??? this mentality is the main reason behind Pakistan's failure in recent times.

Micky's playing 11 for 1st test.
Imam
Hafeez
Azhar
Babar
Asad
Haris
Sarfraz
Faheem
Yasir
Hasan/wahab
Abbas

According to reports, Shadab is unlikely to play due to injury.

Bilal Asif looks set to debut.

Whats wrong with this mentality? I have seen many players returning for other teams as well when they were required irrespective of their age. Jeetan Patel of NZ is one example, though Hafeez is 100 times a player he is. Jadeja recently made a comeback in Indian ODI setup as he was needed and there are numerous examples of horses for corses selections. Conditions require 2-3 spinners so whats the problem in using a resource who is in good form and available.

Afterall cricket matches are meant to be won and ego, personal likes and dislikes should be kept aside.

Considering the amout of lefties in aussies squad it might turn out to be pretty profitable.

If you look closely at your team, you only have one fast bowler. That will never work dude. And nobody opens their bowling with a harmless allrounder aka Faheem.

It's alright, I think we could afford that in UAE.. I would rather have 3 spinners than 3 pacers in my playing11. The only fast bowler who was successful in UAE conditions was Omar gul as he would inevitably gives a wicket or 2 in first hour of the play. Only Junaid Khan had more or less the same impact from our pacers rest have been there for reverse swing . Spin will win you games in UAE against all oppositions specially non Asian teams. I hope the team mgt. doesn't shoot themselves in the foot again and repeat the same mistake which Ied us to lose our first ever test series in UAE in almost a decade. Before the series loss against Sri Lanka we enjoyed the longest winning streak at home which was a
mainly du to our spinners.

Why was Shadab selected when he wasn't fit? Why not include a specialist spinner like Zafar or Asghar

Australian cricketers today visited one of Dubai’s largest labour camp facilities to experience how workers live, and hear stories of sacrifices they have made for their families.

Tim Paine, Mitch Marsh, Peter Siddle, Travis Head, Mitch Starc, Brendan Doggett, Ashton Agar, Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Neser, Jon Holland and Justin Langer took time out from the Qantas Tour of the UAE to hear from locals who live at the Al Naboodah Village in Aweer.

More than 7,500 workers currently reside in the complex hailing from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The visitors heard about the extreme challenges the workers have faced, and the crucial role cricket plays in providing an outlet in the camp. Around 70% of the residents at the camp are unskilled labourers.

A number of labour camps have been set up across the United Arab Emirates to service the thriving metropolis', with many workers opting to live in camps and going for years on end without seeing their family, whilst sending income back home to their loved ones.

The cricketers toured the facilities, played cricket with the residents, joined them for afternoon tea and signed a graffiti wall as a gift to the camp. The Australian Ambassador to the UAE, HE Arthur Spyrou also joined the team during the activities.

Australian fast bowler, Mitchell Starc spoke to media at the camp on his experience, thoughts on the first Test against Pakistan starting on Sunday and his selection in the T20 Qantas Tour of the UAE squad.

This requires more attention. Respect.

It is pretty much confirmed that Pak will play 6 batsmen including Haris and Hafeez and 4 bowlers namely Abbas, Mir Hamza, Yasir and Bilal Asif.

Best of wishes for Mir Hamza. Hopefully he performs and cements his place for SA. Pak desperately needs fast bowlers for test side and apart from Abbas, no other fast bowler makes the cut right now if I have to be fair.

Although I would have liked someone like Kashif Bhatti, M Irfan or Raza Hassan in place of Bilal Asif, I wish this works out for Pakistan and Bilal decimates the Aussies.

9. Yasir Shah
10. Junaid Khan/Mir Hamza
11. M Abbas

Say what you like about Australian cricketers on the field but off the field they are mostly very down to earth and humble people.

I remember Maxwell having some fun with the locals/expats a few years ago.

Indian and Pakistani cricketers should take a leaf out of their book.
