Quick turnover from the Australia series. Will be interesting to see the team composition, Fakhar should/might return to the playing XI which should see Farhan benched but I'm sure many would like for Asif to be benched instead, though I don't think that's the right thing to do.

This will be the real test for Pakistan and Sarfraz. NZ is a vastly superior team to Australia and have batsmen who play spin really win, like Williamson and Taylor. They will not disintegrate or get choked by spin as the Australians did. Also their bowling is head and shoulders above Australia's and probably even better than Pakistan's at the moment. Expecting a good competitive series. NZ start as favorites for me though.

Pakistan beat NZ in NZ earlier in the year, quite comprehensively in the last two games infact. They are on an unbelievable run of ten T20I series wins in a row. They are the number one ranked T20I team by a fair margin. Furthermore, NZ are without their most destructive batsman in Martin Guptill. How in the world does NZ start off as favourites in this series?

We beat them in their own home, but sure NZ start favs on slow low pitches that favour our spinners and NZ's lack of spin playing ability. #experts

Pak are strong favourites for this but it's important to field well so NZ realise Pak will be as good or better than them in all aspects of the game.

There have been few drop catches but overall they've been good. I'm concerned about our batting.

The batting is always a worry for Pakistan but having Fakhar and Babar opening in the UAE against the new ball when batting is easiest is a big plus for Pakistan. One out of the two is likely to make runs in every game but yes if both fail it will need others to step up.

Yes I perfectly know that Pakistan beat them in their own home which was a great achievement. But I'm basing my opinion on what I've seen in the past 3 matches. We struggled to put on 170 after being in a commanding position against a lollypop attack. This happened not once, but thrice. We got away with murder I would say. Australians were very inept against our spinners. I don't think NZ are that inept. They beat India in India in a couple of games as well. Also were well on their way to an ODI series triumph until Bumrah rescued India. Williamson and Taylor are far far better players of spin than all of Australian batters combined. Guptill is indeed a big loss but they have a like for like replacement in Glenn Phillips. He's been smashing in the A tour and knows the conditions now. If Pakistan again ends up giving NZ these middling 140-150 totals, NZ won't hand over the game that easily to Pakistan by crumbling in the middle overs. They have far too much experience in the middle order to let that happen.

Australia were too one dimensional with their batting New Zealand will do better Williamson is key a steady accumulator to holds the innings together makes it easier for the big hitters.
The biggest test for a while with most of their big players playing should be a hard fought series.

The world's no.1 T20 team are obviously outright favourites for the T20 leg of the tour . Only in ODIs are NZ probably favourites. Tests would depend on the toss a lot.

Williamson are under a new coach and their best T20 batter arguably(Guptill). I hope Pak don't show any complacency and win the series.

What I fear though is Colin Munro might neutralize Imad Wasim. Munro is a very strong hitter square of the wicket which is where Imad can be hit.

1. Fakhar
2. Babar
3. Malik/Hafeez (as Malik might be away, and if it comes down to a dead rubber, no need for both to play)
4. Talat
5. Sarfraz
6. Asif Ali
7. Imad Wasim
8. Fahim
9. Shadab
10. Hasan
11. Shaheen

Fakhar is not available.

Babar, Farhan, Hafeez, Malik, Asif, Sarfaraz, Faheem, Imad, Shadab, Hasan, Shaheen, Shinwari is the 12 for tomorrow. Only potential change is that SSA might replace one of the pacers.

I guess Same XI then, just replace Shinwari with Shaheen. And Hasan should play.

I'd rather have Talat in the side than Farhan. Feel it's better to try out someone who might make it into our ODI line up at 7/6 as Asif's struggling and Talat bowls. While Farhan's just going to be dropped as soon as Fakhar comes back most likely. Still no harm trying out Farhan, while he looked a bit strange last T20, I think he's probably better than that given his domestic record, just nerves.

Drop Hafeez

Bring malik to 4

Asif at three give him a chance to build an innings not have to swing from ball one. Also maybe try fix the dry runs in the middle overs.

Babar and Fakhar opening

Sarfraz at 5 to negate the spin or if it’s late send faheem.

Without Malik and Fakhar i'm not too confident in our batting lineup.
