What's new

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka | 5th ODI | Sharjah | Oct 23, 2017 | Pakistan Innings

Great job Shinny!

Also Hasan Ali's celebration is losing its sign, use it only for crucial wickets, not no 10 and no 11 cricketes :))

Blessing in disguise that Amir was injured during this ODI series. We wouldn't have blooded in Shinwari or Fahim if he was there. About time Amir earns back his place in the team. He's been getting the red carpet treatment for far too long.

Hopefully, that will motivate him to perform at ALL times. Not just when he feels like it.

Rameez on Tisara's dismissal: caught by .... (verbal pause) fielder running from the boundary. Obviously he forgot Fahim's name, so had to make up for it in a more conventional way.

Fakhar and Imam should be looking for nice 50 not out each here and win the game by 10 wickets.

Pakistan missing Shehzad today. I would have opened with Shehzad and Babar. This way Babar could have easily scored a century. SL making it hard for him to get to his 2000 ODI runs.

Oh bai Please. Shaz is not ODI or T20 player.

Hopefully Fakhar will redeem himself for failures in series so far and regain his form.

That 5for is because of Shinwari's bowling or SRL's batting?

He scored 40 odd in the first game. Hardly a failure.

Failure by his standards against a poor side, he should've converted it to a big one, besides it wasn't a fluent innings either, he was struggling in most of it as apparent from the percentage of dot balls.

Oh Bahi, please try to understand.

Some players are made for big moments, big stages and big opportunities. Today could have been that big moment for Shehzad to help out his team mates by showing his natural talent.

1 off 11... following in the foot steps of his predecessor

Fakhar takes a single and then waits forever to get the strike back.. prime example of why his batting has no rythm. His opening partners need to rotate strike better.

BCCI should put a clause that in coming series, if SRL wins the toss, they have to bowl first, or no payment .....

4 overs bowled and Fakhar has only played 6 balls.

8 off 18 by bhanja

6 off 15.... block block block four

Just be grateful Shehzad is out of the team. :P

More seriously, Imam needs to rotate the strike better. He did it okay in the first game but too many dots already today.

I like the look of Fernando. Good pace, good line and with that action can swing/seam the ball both ways in helpful conditions. Shinwari needs to work on his inswing to the right handers otherwise he's going to be dispatched quite easily in conditions like Australia. I don't know if he actually can bring that ball back in to the right handers considering his head position and how he falls a little bit towards his right side.

Amir has been your best bowler in TWO Finals, he is a worldclass limited over cricket bowler.

Don't confuse his test form with ODI/T20 form

There is no score board pressure. These 2 can take their time. Imam will truely be tested when there is score board pressure and the need to score runs quickly. Fakhar really needs to score big today.

Meanwhile bhanja's opening partner is going run a ball.

Imam not letting us feel the absence of Shehzad. Need to replace him with Farhan or Saad Ali. Poor rotater of strike makes our top 6 too slow.

Shehzad is head & shoulders, arms & legs above Fahim in every respect, he'd murder these toothless bowlers instead of getting bogged down. No denying his strike rotation issues but he has the power game to get off the blocks unlike the one picked by nepotism.

Two finals? One was the CT one, which is the other?

Also world class limited over cricketer bowler? Let's see the ODI and T20 stats of the world class bowler since his return

ODIs
Matches: 21
Wickets: 30
Average: 30.26
BBI: 3/16

T20s
Matches: 13
Wickets: 11
Average: 32.00
BBI: 3/18

If this is world class, Hasan Ali is then extra-terrestrial class.

I mentioned this earlier, there is no score board pressure so Imam doesn't really need to go for big slogs. He is more of runs accumulator type batsman.

Well not a lot of accumulation is going on at the moment

Shehzad is that you?

:)))

T20 WC final (2009).

13 off 25... finally managing to start rotating the strike frequently

Bai, he is only 21 years of age and trying his best to score runs. One needs to be patient and be critical when he fails to score runs in long term. Lets give this kid a chance before applying the 'nepotism' tag.

T20 WC final (2009).

Amir was the best bowler in the T20 WC final? Really. How about Abdul Razzaq was our best bowler. Amir's figures in that final were 4 overs for 30 runs and 1 wicket. Amir is severely overrated. He was incredible in 2009. He is just a good bowler now.

Syed1 zherique type of hoick ,and many to come, guy looks limited.

Imam continue to play more balls than Fakhar; this is not good; the aggressive batsman should face more balls than the accumulator

Shehzad is that you?

:)))

Stating the irrefutable, undeniable and crystal clear truth doesn't make me him. Anyone will come to the same conclusion after dissecting the game-play of both batsmen. Imam should head back to domestics to work on technical aspects of his game and his uncle should be patient enough to let him iron out his flaws before drafting him in the side.

Retweeted Mazher Arshad (@MazherArshad):

First time ever that Pakistan have played a 5-match ODI series without bowling a no-ball. Very disciplined effort by the bowlers. #PakvSL

Thank You Wahab Riaz!!!!

16 off 30.... but if this was Shehzad people would already be bumping threads.

But Imam scored a century and Shehzad hasn't scored a fifty in the past 2 years.

I understand what you're saying but this is a case of ignoring context.

Dilshan was red-hot at the time. SL's entire batting lineup was leaning on him throughout the tournament. Amir took him out and bowled a wicket-maiden.

Best bowler? Maybe. Maybe not.

Did he turn up? Hell yes.

Amir is a big game player, he delivers in big matches like the CT final :) May be he is not motivated enough :/
