(Web Desk) – The undisputed king of Bollywood Salman Khan seems to be entangled in yet another controversy and that too involving Pakistani flag.

As per details emerging on Indian media, the crew of Salman Khan-starring Bharat was barred from shooting at the Wagah Border citing security issues and Punjab was picked as preferred location for border scene.
With the help of the local panchayat, a village was taken over.

Local farmers and traders were paid a substantial amount to cover their losses because of the set that would be created there. But a Wagah border scene required Pakistan’s flag to be put up on Indian soil. Well, that’s how the controversy began.

“A lot of local bodies were upset about how someone could hoist Pakistan’s flag on Indian soil. We have had such issues earlier in Kashmir and in places like Mumbai as well, when Pakistan flags have been put up during Ind-Pak cricket matches. Even though this is for a film shoot, local organisations are upset and have not just filed a police complaint against Salman, but also surrounded the sets of the film and the hotel where Salman was staying to express their indignation over the hoisting of the flag. After all it is a film shoot, but the locals refused to understand,” says a source.

The filmmakers quickly wrapped up the shoot and Salman has returned to Mumbai, but with one more court case to his name.

Terrible betrayal.

his father is Pashtun, which explains his looks, so he probably feels more connection to Afghanistan (15 millions Pashtuns)/Pakistan (30 millions Pashtuns) because of his genetic heritage than the towering majority of Indians (only few 1000s of Pashtuns) just for that.

your guess is wrong. He probably feels more connection to pakistan because of his religion. Although he probably identifies more with money, otherwise he wouldnt join Ganesh pooja with hindus.

As you said the religious angle doesn't seem that essential to him, but he's proud of his paternal "Pathan" roots on the other hand.

It's same with all Khan's, even when Saif Ali Khan he has to play the jingoistic card in his movies in order to finally get some box-office hits deep inside doesn't has this hatred (not only he has relatives in Pak, but some influential one, incl. a PCB chairman and someone who nearly ended up DG-ISI, but the role went to a relative of ShahRukh Khan instead).

It's time in Modi-fied India to replace these Khan's with the genuine sons of the land, who would represent the pure Hindu male aesthetics and charm. Apart from Pashtun, even the Punjabi-Khatri's (the Kapoors, Dhawans, Kohlis, Khannas, etc), despite being Hindus in majority, are somehow still too connected to ancient Pakistan. Ideally Bollywood star list should be dominated with Brahmins from UP, Bengal, etc.

Problem is not Salman Khan, but the Hindu extremist mentality which BJP fed in the minds of normal Hindus, and similarly Pakistani extremists fed in the normal Pakistan mind.

If Salman Khan want good relations with Pakistan, then nothing is wrong with it. Hindus in Europe and US also love Hindustan little more than any other country while it is a Hindu country. And you will be total OK with it, but when it comes to Salman Khan, then this thing becomes a crime for the extremist Hindus.

Extremist Hindus and extremist Muslims are the two sides of the same coin. There is hardly any difference in them. And then both of them go after the peace and human loving Secular people. Both of them declare the liberals as traitors to their countries. Both of them become Thekaydars of patriotism too.

These extremists are a shame towards humanity.

Hoisting a Pakistan flag on Indian territory is somewhat insensitive, but when you are making films about Pakistan it is difficult to avoid it.I suggest Bollywood producers should focus their film plots around Britain instead, we have a long and rich history which could provide many plots and story lines. Raising a Union Jack on Indian territory would not raise any objections from locals so problem solved.

problem are the khooni liberals who label innocent patriotic people as extremists. such people are a shame towards humanity.

there is no more important piece of cloth than a flag. a pakistani flag on the holy indian soil is a dagger into the hearts of all patriotic innocent indians. those who love pakistan can just go to that country, we don't need such traitors.

Here we go again.
A piece of cloth has no value that you start killing people in it's name.
An animal has no value when you start killing people in name of respect of an animal.
A piece of land has no value when you start killing people by naming it Holy and other humans as unholy to be present on this land.
A human life is much precious than any blasphemy laws.

That is why Hindu extremists and Muslims extremists are brothers with each other and two sides of the same coin.... a united enemy of the humanity.

These are only the Secularists on both side who value the human life above all these stupid things for which humans have been killed for thousands of years.

Strongly, forcefully and strenuously disagree. There are a few things more precious than human lives which are worth living and dying for. The Flag and Everything Holy Ordained by The Almighty.

If the film scene involved the Pakistan flag being put up 'on the holy Indian soil', hoisted, celebrated, and then burnt, would it still be 'a dagger into the hearts of patriotic Indians'?

Just asking.

We don't endorse such acts. Parcham-e-sitara-o-hilal deserves respect as it is the flag of a sovereign nation. Just that hoisting it on our soil is an act of disrespect towards our on Tricolor. It should only be allowed if there is a diplomatic or sports meet. these bollywood stars should know their limits.

As I said earlier, Bollywood should centre their storylines around Britain instead of obsessing over Pakistan, they'll all be eating chicken chow mein and wan tons before long anyway. These Indian farmers show their appreciation and nostalgia for the British Raj. Give the Indian people what they want for a change.

The question was about film scenes ie involving pretense and acting. Without make-believe, pretense and acting, there would be no theatre, no tv soaps, no films.

When you make a film scene, say an Indian film involving battles between Indian & Pakistani forces, the Pakistani soldiers (ie Indian actors) and military equipment (ie theatrical props) will have Pakistani flags on them, on their uniforms, on their equipment (eg theatrical props in the shape of tanks and planes - and planes do land!). So what's the difference between these smaller flags, and a larger flag (ie a larger prop) in a film scene?

It's a film so it's rather silly for anyone to be upset. Films are not real for their information.

But to say only secularits value human life is even a larger removal from reality.
