The only war that Pakistan can claim some sort of victory was the first Kashmir war right after partition. Pakistan gained Kashmiri land and It was India who went to UN for a cease fire. 1965, even though not an out and out victory for India had India reaching Lahore. India accrued more land compared to pakistan. India celebrates this a victory, Pakistan too. But it was largely a stalemate. According to historians, it would have been a decisive victory for India if the war continued for a few more weeks. 1971 is a victory for India and Bangladesh. Kargil war was a major embarrassment for Pakistan. It was Pak's revenge for losing the Siachen Glacier earlier

Pakistani media on the other hand, for the most part, is acting in a far more mature way, and any discussion on war is about Pakistan's defensive capability. It's also good to see our old army people and defense analysts avoiding the war mongering, and clearly stating that A.) War is unlikely to happen, and B.) Pakistan will only respond, not initiate.

Before the ceasefire in 1965, pakistan had more casualties and had lost more territory than India.
