Pakistani pitches are an absolute disgrace

Pakistan is likely going to get some kind of penalty for this pitch. It's beyond pathetic
 
Pitch maybe flat but this is result of England's aggressive approach and Pakistani bowlers have no clue or answers to it.
 
England have a realistic chance of scoring 1000 in the first innings. No joking.

They chased around 400 in 4th innings vs India at a high rr. That was the 4th innings, series on the line and much better bowling conditions relatively speaking. This is far worse pitch with no scoreboard pressure.
Rameez the clown is too stupid to understand that flat conditions 200% play into England's strengths.

Good. I hope ICC keep handing out demerit points. Despite our emotional dramabaaz about being a "cricket starved nation", we don't deserve to host cricket if these dull pitches are prepared.
 
Shave of all the grass from the only pitch in the country that naturally supports pacers and proceed to play just 1 spinner. Qudrat men need to be sacked.
 
Interesting. Freddie Wilde of Cricviz suggesting that this is more because of 1 . England's ultra aggressive intent 2. Pakistan's underpar bowling

He says data suggests that pitch is not as big a factor.

This what happens when you watch/remember only a couple of series. The stats clearly show that india, in the recent decade or so, produces one of the most balanced pitches in the world. They assist pace and spin. and you can score centuries as well. just check these stats to know how wrong you are.

I hope they do it. This England side is doing incredible things at the moment and cricket is benefitting as a result.

On a road vs a weak, inexperienced bowling attack means this might be the best opportunity they can get for 4 figures.
 
The saddest part is that besides Anderson there is no real big name in the english nowling lineup either. Most of their spinners are part timers.
Who are they trying to nullify? Just the batters wanting to statpad?
 
No pitch is bad enough to concede 500 runs in 75 overs.

Stokes can easily hit a 55 ball 100 here. Livingstone with a similar output.

I remember 3 years ago I said on this forum that Pakistan hosting Test cricket will be more damaging to them than playing in the UAE and that England, NZ and Australia would spank them in Pakistan conditions. I was laughed at then. Safe to say, I was right.
 
They make flat pitches in order to increase the likelihood of 5 days. Thus maximising revenue. If it ends in 3 or 4 days they lose out on money. Also in the modern world you can’t make minefields, it’s considered unsafe. The flatter the pitch the less home advantage given which is a big problem when convincing sides to tour. Lastly our test cricket bowlers like many other countries are simply our 2nd team bowlers or our bowlers just trying to adjust to test cricket as an afterthought.

The test cricket format should be abolished or needs to be drastically changed. You can’t just expect countries to produce good pitches sacrificing revenue by ending before the 5th day and play their best players in the name of good nature.

england will bat one session tomorrow and declare at 700. this team doesn't care abt records, they play only to win.
 
Winning or losing a test match or even killing the test cricket is not important , the more important matter is to give our "legend" every chance to score some runs so he could join the true legends of the game in 100 test club.
 
ICC needs to ban us from hosting cricket. After watching 10 overs, I went to bed. This is a complete disgrace.
 
This is T20 batting in Test cricket. Pitch is a road or not, this is some tremendous batting by England.

Even in the past Pakistan pitches were always flatter in comparison. This looks worse because England used it to the fullest extent possible.
 
Weren't PCB paying out for foreign curators to come to Pakistan and work with the local curators?

According to a few sports reporters, it is Babar who requested Ramiz to instruct the groundsman to prepare a flat batting wicket. The domestic wickets at Rawalpindi stadium have all aided seamers. Don't understand why does Ramiz have to concede to Babar on every request.

Very realistic. They will start 30 mins early tomorrow, England have still got Stokes at the crease and Livingstone to come, and I've seen this England team doesn't necessarily declares early, going by this pitch they would want to keep on playing until it starts to break a bit.

1000 is possible.

England never plays for records. Light situation is really bad in Rawalpindi at this time of the year & they will never get 90 overs of play.

England will take that into consideration & I expect them to bat for 30-35 overs & declare around the 700 mark.
 
It’s fine man. The wicket isn’t that bad. We’ll get bundled out within a subpar 300 total. On a wicket like that, you need discipline and experience of having that discipline. Don’t blame the wicket. England have been threatening to do this in test cricket ever since Baz took charge.
 
No one would be complaining if Babar batted first and scored a triple on day one.
 
I hope England score another 500 runs tomorrow. Pakistan should get banned from hosting test cricket in Pakistan or ICC should force them to make a wicket which is not against the cricket.

I hope Pakistan lose this game by something like an innings & 500 runs.
 
England players were not feeling well and scored 500 plus runs, imagine if they were fully fit .
 
Another low,slow wicket to nullify our main strength. The stupidity is mind boggling and today we paid the price. Its time for RR and Saqi to take a hard look and think about resigning.

What is our main strength? This bowling attack is a mish mash of inexperience and toothlessness. There isn't a spearhead in sight.
 
Pakistan should be banned from hosting test cricket. Worst pitches in world cricket. Glad I didn't tune into this earlier today.

I don't agree. They have enough fire power to bowl teams out. We have this stupid idea producing dreadful,slow wickets helps us. It never has and never will

Aligned. SA arguably brought a super fast bowling unit and still lost the test series vs Pak 2/0. I really enjoyed that test series and must confess watched the highlights 2-3 times after.
Why they would deviate from that template is mind boggling.
 
Well, you'll be cursing the batting then! You need to decide which one is worse - batting or bowling?

Not only the pitches, just look at the state of the grounds. We have shaadi chairs in place of actual seating :))
 
Had an off day next day , planned to watch Pindi test starting at midnight till late , watched 4-5 overs and I had enough , what a disgraced wicket and bowling .

Just because Pakistan is struggling at test cricket even during their golden era doesn’t mean we should abolish the format all together. The big 3 + NZ + SA can continue playing tests. Pakistan and other teams that don’t have the skill for longer formats can become T20 specialists.
 
It will only be a bad pitch if Pak can bat like England did. Lets wait for our boys to put on the pads before judging the wicket.

You actually think Babar would score 300 in a day? Wishful thinking that. Pakistan at max would have scored 300-330 for 3-4 wickets lost.
 
More than anyone else , Ramiz Raza needs to go. Just big mouth empty threats and nothing to show as improvement. Another failed appointment by Imran Khan.
 
Fans have branded Pakistan chiefs as being a "disgrace" after England hit a record-breaking 506-4 on the opening day of their first Test.

Pakistan supporters have waited 17 years for England to visit their home country and were left shocked with the lifeless Rawalpindi pitch which made life difficult for their bowlers.

Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Harry Brook all hit centuries as England smashed the Pakistan bowling attack. England posted the highest score ever on the opening day of a Test and quickest to reach 500. While the England attack were delighted with their performance, which included 73 boundaries, the home fans blamed the Pakistan chiefs who had prepared the Rawalpindi pitch.

"This pitch is an absolute disgrace to test cricket," one fan wrote on Twitter. "We waited so long for this series and this is what we got."

Another fan felt sorry for the Pakistan bowling attack with Zahid Mahmood taking the most opening day wickets with 2-160. They added: "Watching Test cricket in Pakistan is nothing short than torture. Such kind of pitches are truly a disgrace to our bowling unit, I feel sorry for them."

Other fans pointed the blame at former player and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja. This was the second time the PCB has come under fire after supporters had the same criticism when Australia edged a 1-0 victory during their tour in March.

The opening two matches of that series were drawn as flat pitches resulted in high scores and Australia declared on 556-9 during their first innings in the second match.

One fan wrote: 'Shame on you Ramiz Raja. Cricket is for entertainment if you continue making pitches like this people will stop watching Test cricket in Pakistan.'

Another fan went even further adding: "Pakistan is currently the worst country in the world for hosting a Test match. PCB should be ashamed of their pitch. Disappointing their fans time and time again."

Bad lights saved Pakistan from even utter humiliation. It broke the momentum of England's innings. Otherwise England would've scored around 620 yesterday itself and they had great chance to score total 800 runs in 1st innings.
 
These pitches are an affront to test cricket. I've watched alot of test cricket in my life. Never have I dreaded the prospect of a 3 match home series at home like this before. Ramiz and his cohorts have made us a laughing stock as a touring country and need to be sent packing. I hope we get multiple demerit points and these pitches get banned. I would rather watch matches staged in the UAE than this garbage.

Seems like RR didn't learn from Australia series.

Unacceptable wicket - did Pakistan forget the wickets they prepared against Australia ?

More concerning is our lack of spin options so a crumbling wicket isn’t going to work until we have decent bowlers to exploit such conditions.

It’s better to produce seaming wickets because that is Pakistans strength at the moment.

There have been five Test innings at Rawalpindi this year.

The LOWEST opening partnership in any of them was 105.
 
Ramiz condemned the quality of wickets , all talk , no action , no accountability of the culprits for killing a long awaited test match.
 
PCB better get a hefty fine and banning Pindi from hosting any form of international cricket for a few games ll be a great lesson as well. Torturous and shameful. If the next two pitches are disgusting as well, ban them also and we should be forced to play in Dubai and Abu Dhabi if we are not left with any stadiums.

This is humiliating to cricket and to Pakistani fans. Props to our fans for calling this out all across.
 
There should a one-inning test match on this sort of wicket.

Real test cricket was born in Melbourne Australia, died at Pindi, RIP.

Someone needs to show him highlights of domestic concluded games, where pitch was pretty good. He knows it well and is just doing drama for balancing the heat and blaming others. I am at times supportive of him but this display of jeopardizing Pakistan cricket should be punishable for PCB Chairman.

Likely, this is the worst time of year for it. I’m in Lahore currently and the air quality rated here is hazardous.

I think its worst in world right now even more so than Delhi.

Though RP air will be less polluted as its closer to the mountainous region.

RR making out as if its rocket science to produce a decent wicket. Andy Atkinson did against SA and we won
 
Absolutely garbage pitch. Nothing more annoying than test cricket being played on a flat road. England batting the way they did was probably a respite from the boredom for a neutral fan but we still have Azhar Ali to bat on this highway.

We need to win four matches to get to the WTC final and this is not the way to win games. I don't understand why they are incapable of making turners in Pakistan. Surely all you need is a pickaxe and some other gardening tools to give some much-needed help to the spinners.

Pakistan should take this opportunity to make England cry though. Bat all of the next two days and then give it a go with Rauf, Naseem and the spinners on day 5.
 
Not only is the pitch a flat pancake, the umpires really need to use some common sense to make a match of it. There have been overturned decisions and near misses due to umpires call. The umpires in these type of matches should give the benefit of doubt to the bowler so the umpire call goes the bowlers way for marginal decisions.

Bring some semblance of balance back

Nothing will ever be more embarrassing than opposition scoring 952 runs in one inning against India so let's not turn this thread into another Indo-Pak quarrels. We understand padosis are getting a chance to have go at Pakistan but we will always find more embarrassing stats when it comes to our arch rivals :inzi

We don't support our board blindly and do usually criticise them for legit reasons unlike.....

RR is like the MQM- they are always in govt but like to play the opposition. Take responsibility for this nonsense, your in charge, either resign or do something rather than just talk

Yeah its definitely killing any enjoyment of test cricket, this team over last 2 years has been dull, boring and uninspiring.

Its not humanely possible to even feel anything but disgust

Its a 2nd series in a row where ive been throughly disgusted

In comparison to these uae pitches were bowlers paradises
