Hmmm i wish they picked more of our youthful talent like Zeeshan Malik, Rohail Nazir etc.

I can see most of those names mentioned failing.

Hopefully Malik and Hafeez do well tomorrow so we don’t end up with Azam Khan and Haider Ali in our WT20 squad.

Naseem Shah the latest addition it seems [See post #1]

Imad Wasim is all set to join a CPL team soon.

Good to see many Pakistani players in cpl this season.

Cpl has always been entertaining.love watching it.

2nd best league after PSL.

Malik and Hafeez playing today:

Trinbago Knight Riders opt to bowl

Trinbago Knight Riders (Playing XI): Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard(c), Denesh Ramdin(w), Isuru Udana, Sunil Narine, Akeal Hosein, Ravi Rampaul, Jayden Seales

Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI): Chandrapaul Hemraj, Brandon King, Mohammad Hafeez, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran(w/c), Shoaib Malik, Romario Shepherd, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ashmead Nedd, Odean Smith, Imran Tahir

Shoaib Malik perishes after a pretty dismal 2 (12).

Hafeez replaces him at the crease.

Yasir Shah is a strange choice.

It will be interesting to see how he perfoms.

This is really poor that Hafeez is not even able to buy a run, CPL is a real test and not KPL which was a glorified domestic league.

Hafeez with one wicket so far off 2 overs, has given away 15 runs.

With Hafeez being out of form with the bat and Malik being sidelined because of ageism, we’ll probably see the return of Ifthikar Ali and Asif Ali for the WT20.

Hafeez with one wicket so far off 2 overs, has given away 15 runs.

Ended up with 1/19 in 3 overs - Malik did not bowl but their side, Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 9 runs

How does Azam Khan get picked for a non-Pakistan league? Do the PCB have some sort of deal going on with the organisers?

Despite there ages and past failures I would rather see Malik and Hafeez in T20 squad rather than Haider and Azam. It’s one last hurrah for the oldies anyway with Ramiz imminent announcement I can’t see Malik/ Ramiz being around for too long internationally

Is Hassan Ali not featuring this year?

Babar, Hassan, Rizwan and Shaheen have been playing non stop cricket in all formats. It would have been an extremely poor decision if anyone of them would have decided to play. They should rest and spend time with their families before NZ home series which is just couple or so weeks away.

Hassan and Shaheen as pacers should be extremely selective in what tournaments they play as they want to be ready for international commitments being key members of the Pak team.

Azam Khan 28(16), Amir 1/20 , 4 overs

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won by 21 runs

Saint Lucia Kings have won the toss and have opted to field

Pakistan players - Haider Ali, Wahab and Usman Qadir playing

Wahab Riaz ...44 runs so far in 2.4 overs

Haider Ali 45 (32) - excellent outing

Wahab smashed for 61 off his 3 overs today and Usman Qadir hit for 38 from his 3 overs.

wahab bhai ko guard of 6's dia ja raha hai.... i think if he is sane, he shouldnt desire intrnl cricket again... stick to such leagues if they want him...

Wahab 18 delivers plus no balls were on a length something you would ball in grade cricket.

No strategy no thinking poor bowler who should never represent PK again.

Good 45 (32) from Haider Ali today batting at #3:

Wahab riaz claims he is 36 but is probably now near the 40 mark .

Don't understand why our players just don't retire when they are clearly to old to be playing at a professional competitive level .

61 runs from 3 overs. Wahab is simply a poor brainless bowler who still bowls like he is new to cricket. Funny thing is that some people were calling for his return to the Pak T20 side during the recent England series. Lol what a joke.

Barbados lost to trinbago

However
Amir picked up 3 wickets and went for 21 runs in his 4 overs

Azam khan hit 30 runs of 21 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes

Excellent night out for Pakistanis (Except Wahab)

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (Playing XI):Asif Ali,

Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI): Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez

Playing now -

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and have opted to bat

Hafeez finishes with 38*(31) out of a team score of 146/8 (20) CRR: 7.3

Haider Ali playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs against the Barbados Royals, which features both Azam Khan and Mohammad Amir.

So Yasir Shah and Naseem Shah still to feature - whilst Imad Wasim is on his way from Pakistan

Azam fails to impress.

Azam Khan c Chris Green b Powell 13(17) [6s-1]

Why is someone like haider playing slogathon league cricket around the world?

If he is such a big talent Surely pcb shoud be investing in him and developing his technique and mentality for the longer game and keeping him away from this format

This sort of cricket is only going to ruin a young man and his technique and development for the future

He's extremely lucky to have been selected at all. I can only imagine that a Windies player who saw him in the PSL recommended him, and to his credit Haider has shown up and hit a good score. It might get him on the selector's radar again after his numerous failures in national colours previously.

Only way is up for Wahab in today's game - surely?

Usman Qadir can also improve himself - as I feel both may well be dropped for next few games if they dont perform

Saint Lucia Kings (Playing XI): Rahkeem Cornwall, Andre Fletcher(w), Faf du Plessis(c), Roston Chase, Mark Deyal, Tim David, Keemo Paul, Wahab Riaz, Alzarri Joseph, Usman Qadir, Jeavor Royal

Trinbago Knight Riders (Playing XI): Lendl Simmons, Sunil Narine, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, Denesh Ramdin(w), Kieron Pollard(c), Tion Webster, Isuru Udana, Akeal Hosein, Ravi Rampaul, Jayden Seales

Trinbago Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to field

Faf du Plessis has not seen fit to give a single over to Usman Qadir, slightly embarrassing for the leg-spinner.

Wahab has bowled one over, which went for 3 runs. He'll probably be given another over at the death.

Wahab Riaz successfully defends 14 runs off the last over, gave away only 8 runs. Good recovery from the last match.

If I remember correctly, Wahab was dropped from PCT after getting smashed around by Seifart. So he's had his revenge in a way and deserves a recall. It looks like his terrible performances have more to do with lack of motivation. If he plays in the WT20, you can expect him to peform very well.

Wahab Riaz was awesome in this game.

He defended 14 runs successfully. He was bowling to seifert who was striking at 300.

He still has some Cricket left in him.

Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI): Brandon King, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shoaib Malik, Shimron Hetmyer, Anthony Bramble, Mohammad Hafeez, Nicholas Pooran(w/c), Odean Smith, Naveen-ul-Haq, Imran Tahir, Nial Smith

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (Playing XI): Devon Thomas, Evin Lewis, Joshua Da Silva(w), Asif Ali, Sherfane Rutherford, Dwayne Bravo(c), Fabian Allen, Dominic Drakes, Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Paul van Meekeren, Fawad Ahmed

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and have opted to bat

A good 70 (59) from Hafeez for Guyana Amazon Warriors today.

1.jpg

Pakistani players in the Patriots vs Warriors match:

Hafeez - 70(59) & 0/25 (4.0)
Malik - 0/12 (2.0)
Asif Ali - 2(4)

Saint Lucia Kings have won the toss and have opted to field

Saint Lucia Kings (Playing XI): Rahkeem Cornwall, Andre Fletcher(w), Faf du Plessis(c), Roston Chase, Mark Deyal, Tim David, Keemo Paul, Samit Patel, Wahab Riaz, Kesrick Williams, Alzarri Joseph

Wahab finishes 1/40 from 4 overs, his last over went for 21. Fairly atrocious bowling at the death.

Wahab needs to get his yorkers going in the tournament. He is coming from a back injury so might not be easy but, he will have to do it as short balls an one odd slower ball might not be enough in every situation.

Mixed bag for Paks in last night's game : Barbados Royals vs Jamaica Tallawahs

Amir injured after 2.2 overs:

"Amir pulls up and is now stretching his hamstring. The physio is out having a look. A delay here as Amir seeks medical attention. The Pakistani pacer does a mock run and isn't happy, grimaces and goes off the field"

50 (30) for Azam Khan

Haider Ali 1 run

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and have opted to field

Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI): Mohammad Hafeez, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran(w/c), Brandon King, Shoaib Malik, Odean Smith, Naveen-ul-Haq, Imran Tahir, Romario Shepherd, Ashmead Nedd

Trinbago Knight Riders (Playing XI): Lendl Simmons, Sunil Narine, Colin Munro, Tion Webster, Kieron Pollard(c), Tim Seifert, Denesh Ramdin(w), Khary Pierre, Isuru Udana, Ravi Rampaul, Akeal Hosein

Hafeez scratches around for 16 off 30 balls before being dismissed.

Malik now at the crease, struggling at 4 off 9 balls.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have won the toss and have opted to field

Jamaica Tallawahs (Playing XI): Chadwick Walton(w), Kennar Lewis, Haider Ali, Rovman Powell(c), Shamarh Brooks, Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Migael Pretorius, Chris Green, Fidel Edwards, Joshua James

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (Playing XI): Devon Thomas(w), Evin Lewis, Asif Ali, Sherfane Rutherford, Ravi Bopara, Dwayne Bravo(c), Fabian Allen, Dominic Drakes, Sheldon Cottrell, Paul van Meekeren, Fawad Ahmed

Hafeez so far:

8 (10)
38* (31)
70 (59)
16 (30) - not a typo

Malik so far:

2 (12)
5 (12)
DNB
14 (17)

I won;t select Asif for my club team . Such a horrible player . Scored an other very ugly single digit ( 4 ) score .

How did Asif Ali get selected? He is useless.

And it’s funny how Hafeez started bowling again. When he was having his purple patch with the bat, he didn’t bowl. But now that he is struggling with the bat, he started to bowl again, in order to secure his place in the side. But the likelihood is that he will be reported for chucking again.

Haider Ali 8 and Asif Ali 4 - failures in last night's game...

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and have opted to field

Saint Lucia Kings (Playing XI): Andre Fletcher(w), Faf du Plessis(c), Roston Chase, Mark Deyal, Tim David, Samit Patel, Keron Cottoy, Alzarri Joseph, Jeavor Royal, Obed McCoy, Kesrick Williams

Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI): Chandrapaul Hemraj, Mohammad Hafeez, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran(w/c), Brandon King, Shoaib Malik, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Naveen-ul-Haq, Imran Tahir, Gudakesh Motie

==

No Wahab or Usman Qadir.

More failures for Hafeez and Malik at the CPL.

Both caught at the wicket off Obed McCoy: Hafeez 5, Malik 4.

Both should really be put out of their misery.

I’d say 90% of the batsmen in the CPL have been failures. Whether it’s due to the pitch or the quality of the bowlers idk but everyone seems to be struggling, and if they ain’t struggling then they’re very inconsistent.

Haider Ali has scored less than Hafeez, do we put him out of his misery too?

Yes to better his career the less T20s he plays currently the better more first class cricket to develop his game.

Azam Khan in action for the Barbados Royals against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots today.
