Pakistani players performance watch at the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) - 2021

I’d say 90% of the batsmen in the CPL have been failures. Whether it’s due to the pitch or the quality of the bowlers idk but everyone seems to be struggling, and if they ain’t struggling then they’re very inconsistent.

Haider Ali has scored less than Hafeez, do we put him out of his misery too?

Hafeez has a history of failing at world cups . 5 t20 world cups to be precise with an average of 20 and a SR of 103. He should have been put out of his misery ages ago . Total bottler.

Haider may not do any better but deserves a chance 10/10 over Hafeez.

Naseem Shah no wickets for 31 in 4 overs

Azam Khan 8 runs in 4 balls.

No Mohammad Amir, presumed injured.

Asif Ali benched.

Not a great night for Pakistani players.

Mohammad Amir has a slight groin strain - expected to be fit for the next match.

Naseem Shah 4 overs, 45 runs and 0 wickets for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Saint Lucia Kings

Decent effort by Wahab so far - 1/16 in 3 overs and will end up on the winning side.

Guyana Amazon Warriors : Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik

Barbados Royals (Playing XI): Azam Khan(w)

Barbados Royals have won the toss and have opted to bat

Overall a poor effort from the Pakistani players so far.

Nothing really that impressive to date.

Azam Khan coming through with a 6 per match is the only good thing so far.

Overall 2 better 2nd half is needed by all players.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have won the toss and have opted to bat

Teams:

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (Playing XI): Asif Ali, Naseem Shah

Saint Lucia Kings (Playing XI): Wahab Riaz

Hafeez's bowling has been consistently impressive. And the good thing is he has bowled in all the matches so far.

Was expecting Shoaib Malik to be in a good nick considering the conditions in WI.

Faf toyed with Naseem yesterday. Took something like 21 runs off the last over.

Wahab Riaz 1/17 in 4 overs - decent again.

Asif Ali 18 off 14.

First wicket for Naseem Shah. Produced 3 opportunities in one over, two were dropped catches and one of them was pretty straight forward.

Has the standard of CPL gone up or something?

Neither batsmen nor bowlers are firing so you can't blame the conditions.

Imad Wasim put in a good performance today:

42 (38) with the bat
2/19 (4) with the ball

https://arysports.tv/pcb-calls-back-players-cpl-2021/

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called back four players, who were named in Pakistan’s T20I squad against New Zealand, from Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

According to the details, Mohammad Hafeez, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, and Asif Ali have been asked to come back to Pakistan by September 12. NOC was given to the players for the whole league.

With this decision, players’ contracts are in danger with CPL franchises which can cost them financially. Moreover, the franchises are concerned to replace these players amid COVID-19 protocols.

There is a possibility to transfer these players from the bio-secure bubble in West Indies to the one here in Lahore before September 20. CPL’s final is scheduled for September 15.

The camp for T20I players will start on September 18 here at Gaddafi Stadium. Players will assemble here on September 16.

New Zealand is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on September 11. Both teams will play three ODIs from September 17 to 21 in Rawalpindi whereas five T20Is will be played from 5 to October 3 at Gaddafi Stadium.

Hafeez 30(25) and 1/20 in 4 overs

M Amir 1/20 in 3 overs

Azam Khan 4(8)

Yasir Shah is a strange choice.

It will be interesting to see how he perfoms.

Performances at international level linger far longer in memory than domestic. Even if those performances happened in a different format like Yasir Shah in tests.

Imad Wasim batted at 9 for the Jamaica Tallawahs against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and scored 1 from 4 deliveries.

Bowled 2 overs thus far and has conceded 16 runs.

Another failure for Haider Ali today for Jamaica, demoted down the order to number seven and scored 3 from 4 balls.

2-4 for Wahab in his opening spell taking wickets of Malik and Hetmyer

Pakistan players at CPL in the Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Saint Lucia Kings game last night:

Wahab Riaz 2/16 in 4 overs
Shoaib Malik 1(4) & 1 over for 8 runs
Mohammad Hafeez 12(14) - did not bowl

Not seen much of the CPL but Hafeez action looks a bit suspect in that video

Decent figures for Mohammad Amir

3-19-2 today but his team lost heavily to TKR by 6 wickets.

Imad Wasim starred with 3/34 and 27 (10) for Jamaica Tallawahs in their 55 runs win against Saint Lucia Kings

Haider Ali another failure - 7 (7)

Mohammad Amir 2 wickets so far - Azam Khan benched.

Wahab Riaz also playing

2/31 in 4 overs for Mohammad Amir in the Saint Lucia Kings vs Barbados Royals game

Wahab goes for 7 off his first over for the Kings today, generally bowled a tight line apart from a predictably odd wide a few metres down the leg-side.

Wahab has figures of 1/22 from 3 overs as rain has interrupted play after 15.3 overs of the Barbados innings. St Lucia are comfortably ahead on duckworth lewis.

Another failure for Haider Ali 16(18)

Haider Ali, asif Ali, Malik, Azam khan, Hafeez have been colossal failures with the bat against some very mediocre bowling

Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors

Shoaib Malik 23 (29) and 0/10 in 1 over
Imad Wasim 0/25 in 3 overs and 7 (6)
Haider Ali 16 (18)

Trinbago Knight Riders vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Naseem Shah 0/5 in 2 overs so far

Yasir Shah also playing

With the outrage that you see on Twitter and in Pak media regarding the exclusion of malik and Haider, you'd think they're setting the CPL on fire...

Over all, Asif Ali, Haider Ali and Shoiab Malik have been the big failures, Azam also did not do anything special. Nothing special from Haeez also, just an OK job for a bits and pieces player.

Imad Wasim and Amir have bowled well . Amir has been the best bowler for his team. Imad has been handy with the bat too, has scored more runs for his team than Haider Ali.

Trinbago Knight Riders vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Naseem Shah 0/5 in 2 overs so far

Yasir Shah also playing

Final figures

Naseem Shah 0/27 in 4 overs
Yasir Shah 0/18 in 2 overs

Seems Imad Wasim not asked to return to Pakistan whilst Mohammad Hafeez told to come back for ODIs practice.

Although that could be because Imad is not in the ODI squad for series vs NZ?

Hafeez might not come back. Might do a press conference. He has made a statement that he will for pakistan if he is given respect otherwise he wil not play

Saint Lucia Kings (Playing XI): Wahab Riaz,

No Amir today

Mohammad Amir: We all wanted to win the tournament. If you look, we lost some very close games. It happens in cricket, as a player you have to give your 100%. I am pretty satisfied as I was doing my job as a strike bowler. I was given proper plans. As a bowler, we would love to see these kind of tracks. It's getting better (for the batsmen) now. The wickets are good, as a player you need to adapt. You have to play for your pride, we want to finish on a high note.

Wahab with a middling performance today against Barbados, returns 0/36 from 4 overs as his team failed to defend 190.

Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs

Haider Ali dropped

Imad Wasim 3/15 in 4 overs

Decent from Naseem Shah

1/18 in 3 overs in the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders game

Wahab Riaz playing in Trinbago Knight Riders vs Saint Lucia Kings, 1st Semi final (1st v 4th)

Very poor performance by some Pakistani players who looked totally out of place at this level. Only Amir, Imad and Hafeez made any impact. Wahab was costly on occasion being hit for over 60 runs in one game but on occasion he was impressive. Doubt if Yasir Shah and Malik will be invited again. Possibly Asif Ali and Haider Ali may also not be seen as good investments. By comparison West Indian batsmen looked quite formidable.

Overall a pretty poor tournament for the Pakistani players barring one or two consistent performers like Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir.

Haider and Malik have had tournaments to forget whilst quite a few of the others have been pretty average.

Shoaib Malik's nightmare at the Caribbean Premier League continues:

2, 5, 14, 4, 8*, 4, 1, 23, 0, 6

Innings 10
Total runs 67
Balls faced 112
Average 7.44
Strike rate 59.82
Fours 3
Sixes 1

In the final:

Nasim Shah 4-1-26-2

Wahab Riaz 4-0-36-2

Nasim Shah's Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots are crowned champions.

Shoaib Malik's nightmare at the Caribbean Premier League continues:

2, 5, 14, 4, 8*, 4, 1, 23, 0, 6

Innings 10
Total runs 67
Balls faced 112
Average 7.44
Strike rate 59.82
Fours 3
Sixes 1

And there goes the last chance of
Shoaib Malik's international comeback.
