Pakistan's Aussie stage fright

It is clear Australia is in Pakistan's head since that fateful day at Hobart when Langer and Gilchrist pulled out that heist.

Generation after generation of Pakistani cricketers just can't seem to bring themselves up mentally that we can beat the Aussies.

Cricketers like Saqlain and Mo Yo who are part of team think tank now have had years of mental scarring from the hands of Australian sides. In this series we are trying our best to make pitches to negate Australian pace advantage in the meantime neutralising are main threat Shaheen in the process we have gone in the series with the mindset we should be happy to escape with a drawn series and are preparing pitches and using tactics to achieve that.

The brand of cricket we are playing is extremely poor and making Pakistan cricket look really poor.

Aussies have knocked out Pakistan quite a few times (WC 2015, World T20 2016, and World T20 2021).

These pitches are honestly not conducive for anyone to watch. Good luck attracting people/having good teams tour Pakistan on such pitches.

Add Rizwan’s clownish antics into this as well. I don’t understand why only Babar is getting the blame!

Rizwan has been a poor keeper in this Test.
His non serious attitude doesn’t calm nerves instead it just creates an non intense atmosphere. Why is he always making the opposition batsmen feel comfortable at the crease with pointless jokes and banter??

Why is he so terrible at calling reviews if he is apparently this Einstein game reader the way Bazid Khan portrays him to be?!

Yes, Rizwan is equally to be blamed, I'm not enjoying the way Pakistan team is playing this test . One thing is certain , they going to lose this test. Australians are not scared of losing , this Pakistan team cannot beat them , Aussies will go for win.

Just watch for Lyon and Swepson's bowling in last two days , we will keep paying the price of Sajid Khan's performance against a very weak BD team.

Thats because India has no reason to fear the Aussies. Put the Aussies under pressure & you see them sledging, but then India also knows how to give back as good as it gets. I am not the one who brought up India in the picture - you did when you brought up the sledging comparisions.

And dont think India’s confidence just comes from the IPl, it comes from taking Australia head on on their home turf twice & winning. Going by your logic, Australia should never have sledged India in the last series owing to IPL clout - but they did & yet got owned.

And Australia not sledging Pakistan is not a badge of honor, it is a sign of meekness shown by the home team. The Aussies unleash their fangs when pushed to the wall & nothing of that sort has remotely happened so far!

Surely the number one test side in the world with such a celebrated bowling attack can be expected to pick up more than one wicket against a no 6 ranked side. Didn't some posters boast that this Aussie side will whitewash Pakistan 3-0 in Pakistan?

Pakistan definitely has a mental block against Australia, despite dominating them in UAE in 2014 and 2018. High profile Test defeats like Hobart 1999, Sharjah 2002, Sydney 2010, and several World Cup losses has scarred them.

It explains the negative tactics and placid pitches, the management seems to think we're still facing that all-conquering Australian team that Saqlain and Ramiz played against, and Babar grew up watching.

Heck, Ramiz appointed Matthew Hayden as consultant solely because he was Australian.

Such a timid mindset is baffling given before this series, Australia lost 13 of 17 Tests in Asia since their last series victory in Sri Lanka in 2011.

Agree. Pure cowardice preparing pitches like these that nullify not just Australia's quicks, but also your own that won your the last 3 home series.

In the South Africa series there was just one 300+ score and Pakistan still won both tests comfortably. And its not like South Africa's pace attack was not threatening.

Pakistan dug their own grave by being cowardly and timid and they deserve everything that they are getting.

Pakistan definitely have a mental block against Australia. And it has just gotten sad and pathetic at this point honestly.

Aus is not some great team on turning tracks. Pakistan should have produced a pitch to produce results.
