Pakistan were a strong side but they were unprepared for the ferocious assault unleashed on them by Philo Wallace. Although eventually Wasim and co. clawed back, they were simply unable to chase 288 with Keith Arthurton bowling very well.

2000

After beating Lanka, Pakistan put on a formidable 250+ score against NZ thanks to Saeed Anwar but NZ pulled of a surprising chase and sent them packing.

2002

After struggling against Vaas and Murali, PAK posted around 200 before being demolished by a Jayasuriya ton.

2004

Despite beating arch rivals India in the tournament and then demolishing Kenya thanks to an Afridi fifer, Pakistan were then knocked out by Windies after Inzi chose to bat first and were shot out for a paltry total. The highlight of the match however was Akhtar dropping Lara with a thunderous bouncer. However, Windies won the match comfortably in the end.

2006

This was a bad tournament for all SC sides despite being played in India as the pitches suited fast bowlers. Pakistan started off with a win against Lanka but Scott Styris led NZ to around 270 odd and then the bowling attack led by Bond ensured that NZ beat PAK. Then on a seaming pitch , despite losing early wickets, SAF led by Bouchrr and Kemp put on 213 for SA before Polly and Ntini destroyed the Pakistani lineup for a paltry 89.

2009

Once again PAK beat archrivals India after a Malik ton but they lost to OZ and surprisingly NZ thanks to a fighting half century by Grant Elliott.

2013

The worst performance by PAK in a CT ever. Demolished by SAF by over a 100 runs and an 8 wicket loss to India as well. They even lost to a lowly West Indies after being bowled out for 170

How do you think PAK will fare in this CT keeping history in mind?

Well if you go by our squad selection we would be happy if we do better than 2013.

Thank you Inzi

:salute

Will probably win against SL and loose against India and SA.

2009 Pakistan should never have lost that match to NZ if it wasn't for some awful fielding. drop catch and a missed run out of Elliot made things easier for Kiwis.

We will destroy India :malik everything else is irrelevant as far as tournament prospects are concerned :yk

Inzamam made a bad mistake in 2004 semi-final vs WI by winning the toss and batting first in overcast conditions at the Rose Bowl.

Yes that was indeed a terrible mistake. But I think just like Wasim chose to bat first in the 99 final, Inzi too did not hsve much faith in that lineup to chase in those conditions

We should had won the 2009 tournament. Pakistan were so good and for the first time they had everything in their hands in an occasional tournament.
Karma had its way on Pakistan.

When Pakistan lost to Australia on purpose just so that India couldn't qualify, that was very cheap stuff by Pakistan.
It was really poor sportsmanship and no country should ever do this.

I still remember younis Khan dropping a dolly at slip. That was Elliot who edged it and took away the match

If I remember correctly, inzamam always made bad decisions at toss. He was not very good at assessing conditions

Nobody in cricket cares about Champions Trophy.... There have been proposals to scrap it for 20 years.... Indians only started caring after they won it last time :))

Champions Trophy=China made world cup.

Pakistan has a great world cup record.... Best team after Australia, then West Indies then India. Big 4 of world cups.....
