We drew with Zimbabwe 1-1 in 2013
We lost to South Africa 3-0 in 2013
We drew with England 2-2 in 2016
We lost to NZ 2-0 in 2016
We lost to Australia 3-0 in 2016/17
We beat WI 2-1 in 2017
We lost badly to NZ in ODI's in 2018
We drew 1-1 in England in 2018
We are now 1-0 against a weak SA team in 2018 and the way things are going, it looks like History is repeating itself.
India in contrast has put a much better showing in NZ, Australia and South Africa and have even managed to win test matches in Australia, South Africa and even draw a few games there.
Bottomline is Pakistan's trajectory in test matches is simply unacceptable and a large part of the blame has to go to the senior batsmen in the squad i.e Younis, Misbah and now Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq because they went missing at crucial moments when the team needed them to step up and score big. The bowling has also flattered to deceive and the bowlers too have gone missing when the team needed quick wickets.
Selectors can also be blamed for not selecting the right players for these overseas conditions but they could argue that they selected the best available players at the time.
But the PCB is also to blame for not sending the team atleast a month in advance to these countries and trying hard to get 2-3 practice games atleast before the start of the series. They did it for the England series, why not for New Zealand, Australia and South Africa?
Bottomline, India has been the much better side outside India in comparison to Pakistan who can't even dominate in the UAE.
