Why was Pakistan's test record at home extremely poor from 1995 to 2000? Yet the perception is that the team was very talented back then. We were only able to win a test series against West indies and Zimbabwe and a tied series vs NZ. We even managed to lose a test series to zimbabwe 1998.

Take a look at the test series results at home from 1995-2000.

1995
Lost to Sri Lanka 2-1

1996
Beat Zimbabwe 1-0
Tied New Zealand 1-1

1997
Lost to South Africa 1-0
Beat West Indies 3-0

1998
Lost to Australia 1-0
Lost to Zimbabwe 1-0

1999
Asian Test Championship (one home match vs Sri Lanka) Result Draw

2000
Lost to Sri Lanka 2-1
Lost to England 1-0

the late 90's was the weirdest time period in our cricketing history. the more we sweep this era under the carpet, the better. justice qayyum report should be part of course books in pakistan tbh but it has been collectively forgotten and ignored and even that report was flawed in more than one ways.

Indeed -- as part of nostalgia, people think our team was world beaters and we're quick to degrade our victories at the adopted home.

We were never good enough at home, even with our best cricket teams.

Plenty of things at play that contribute to that performance. Some of the issues are being discussed in the popular threads of the last few days
