Pakistan's Test opening partnership struggles since their last 100-run opening stand

Among many things that are wrong with Pakistan's cricket team, their recent opening partnership performance is one of them.

Since December 8, 2022 (after our last 100 opening stand), our openers average the worst. Only three 50-runs opening partnerships.

Abdullah needs to go. He's been given plenty of chances and there is no improvement.

Over time I’m seeing little difference between Imam and Abdullah. While Imam’s stroke play is more limited than Abdullah, Abdullah doesn’t have the mental strength to play long innings.

Yep. That is how PCB operate. If you are hyped enough, and you are stylish and can play blind shots, you are good.

That too... but my perspective is that ... PCB/selectors always had different inclusion/exclusion rules for different players....

One thing that doesn't help is the lack of test cricket Pakistan plays, but also certain players need a long rope to build consistency.

However sometimes, some Pakistan players are just not good enough to get that rope. Faheem Ashraf anyone?

Saim Ayub has given his wicket either on the stroke of minutes from a session ending. That's unacceptable especially combined with poor judgement in general
