It appears as if people have hopes that things will be magically fixed now that Imran Khan is the PM. And Ehsan Mani the PCB chairman.
Election campaign promises and getting things done on the ground are completely different things.
Our national team is already doing great. What matters is the governance at the PCB level, and most importantly reforming domestic cricket. Will the condition of the grounds, pitches change? Will player compensation change? How players are selected and brought to national team change?
For starters, Mani is equivalent of what you may call tried and tested. And many say he doesn't have the initiative, out of the box thinking to bring a change.
Setting aside blind optimism, status quo at the PCB and domestic cricket will remain.
