It appears as if people have hopes that things will be magically fixed now that Imran Khan is the PM. And Ehsan Mani the PCB chairman.

Election campaign promises and getting things done on the ground are completely different things.

Our national team is already doing great. What matters is the governance at the PCB level, and most importantly reforming domestic cricket. Will the condition of the grounds, pitches change? Will player compensation change? How players are selected and brought to national team change?

For starters, Mani is equivalent of what you may call tried and tested. And many say he doesn't have the initiative, out of the box thinking to bring a change.

Setting aside blind optimism, status quo at the PCB and domestic cricket will remain.

Sethi did try to improve domestic cricket in his last year. I will not pre-judge Mani and would like to give him a chance now that he is here.

People who suffer from Sethiphobia - and there are many of them on this forum - were crying themselves to sleep every night over the fact that Sethi did nothing to improve the balls and the pitches in domestic cricket.

I am patiently waiting and eager to see how long it will take for Mani to introduce new balls and lay down new pitches.

This man is a dinosaur and he will dish out jobs to old friends.

I'm not too sure about that, but I do feel as if things will remain like they are.

Jobs will continue to be held by useless ex cricketers, expenses will remain high, salaries of domestic players will see absolutely no significant change.

Player compensation is important to attract and retain top talent.

They're the worst in the whole cricketing world.

Of course, happy to be proven wrong, but don't see it happening.

While Sethi worked on PSL, he failed to address the grassroots issues.

Domestic cricket was ignored, salaries are still peanuts, no one from middle or upper class wants to play domestic cricket. Expenses and useless jobs in the PCB still exist.

Facilities are as bad as they were 10 years back.

Did you see Misbah's recent video expressing the dissatisfaction of those changing rooms? Call it "Sethiphobia" but that my friend sums up Sethi's reign as PCB Chairman in my view, all eggs in PSL and bringing cricket to Pakistan without a dime put in for the core requirements needed at grassroots level.

You need lots of money to pump into Domestic Cricket in order to fix it. Due to the absence of international cricket in Pakistan, the PCB coffers were dry. The PSL has given the PCB a source of independent revenue and that is being pumped into domestic cricket, but everything does not happen immediately in one day
