It's a shame we wont be able to play in Sharjah but im guessing that is due to clashes with some of the T20 leagues going on at the time.

Any reason why the tests weren't played first? If they were, our test squad could've gone to SA a bit earlier, and also get a little rest.

Afghanistan Premier League will also be played in October.

If I remember correctly,the PCB had a meeting with ECB in which they agreed there would not be a clash of venues.The T20 Leagues would be played in Sharjah and the international series in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Pakistan has 4 or 5 ODIs in the Asia Cup, 3 vs New Zealand, 5 vs South Africa, 5 vs Australia, and then 5 vs England.

Are the squads that different? The Australia tour ends with T20Is so it looks like they just continued those so they wouldn't be having to fly the T20I squad back and forth.

1st T20I on Halloween! I remember Abdul Razzaq playing that innings against SA on the same day in 2010.

They do share some players, but also don't share some very important players. Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas are very important to our test team, wouldn't mind them getting there 7/10 days earlier.

More competitive, especially now that Warner and Smith are gone. In 2014, even with Smith and Warner, we won 2-0. whereas only drew 1-1 with NZ.

Kiwis should be well acclimatized by time test series comes around and should fancy their changes of winning the test series and it wouldn't be a shock.
