The PCB’s latest advertisement for the Head Coach position signals a major shake-up for Pakistan cricket, raising questions about the future of the current coaching setup. With applications now open, speculation grows around whether Aaqib Javed’s tenure is coming to an abrupt end. Is this the dawn of a new era, or just another cycle of instability?

Lol they did this for Kirsten and Gillespie too.

Basically the 2-3 month contract advertisement :ROFLMAO:

Looking at the requirements, it looks like PCB has no one in the background who is ready.....

When PCB has made a deal with someone in the bg, they would never place any such requirements of x amount of experience etc.

I still find it abit stupid that for the NCA spot they want someone with 15 years experience.

there is no mention of how long the coach is required to stay in Pak ( which they claim to be the reason for GG ouster..)

Well after that firing , dont see any intl coach would look at this as an opportunity to coach Pakistan...

They advertised for High performanc coach but already granted that to Aaqib... Aaqib wants it and they said yes no interview and nothing...

After a successful tenure as home minister, record breaking stint as chairman of PCB, and forward thinking leadership as ACC chairman, Mohsin Naqvi has announced he will also accept the role of head coach of PCB to better serve the nation.

I honestly feel @Rana Should apply as a white ball coach and must be given full freedom to get players he wants.

Riz will retire from T20is.

I will clean up like Al Pacino did in Scarface first takeover.

Babar will be scared s in the corner wondering what I will do with him. Maybe I will give him a job.
Who will be your batting and bowling coach?

Waqar, Saqi, Azhar Mahmood, Razzaq, Inzi, Amir Sohail, Basit & Wahab.
They can all go to hell.

I’ll pick Zahoor Elahi as batting coach and Yasir Arafat as the bowling coach. That’s my Pakistan options over all of these guys.

Now give me international options, best that money and availability can offer.

To be honest I don’t think we need batting and bowling coaches for the Pakistan international team . We need career coaches and dieticians.

I think Hesson might have a go at this role but it is not gonna be an easy job for him.

He will have it easier. Naqvi won't be able to sack 3 foreign coaches in quick succession. Will really make his judgement look bad.

I hope so becuase atm, PCB needs stability and a guy who knows Pakistan cricket and Hesson has been working in PSL for long enough to know that this is gonna be a huge task.

So we are gearing up for 7th coach within two years. It is clear that Pakistan cricket has faced a difficult period over the past couple of years. Frequent changes in coaching staff and team leadership have made it hard for the players to find consistency and stability

With six head coaches and multiple captaincy switches, it is understandable that the team has struggled in major tournaments like the Asia Cup, the ODI World Cup, the T20 World Cup, and even the Champions Trophy held at home. The PCB has been trying different approaches under various chairmen, each attempting to bring in their preferred personnel. However, the rapid changes seem to have disrupted the team's development instead of improving it.

2 b grade journalists from Islamabad/Pindi who do have links in PCB confirming Hesson has been finalised. Those two have usually been right with their revelations.

Let’s see.

I do not see many top foreign coaches lining up to work with Pakistan right now. The way things have gone over the last few years, with coaches like Gillespie and Kirsten coming and leaving so quickly, it has sent the wrong message. Add to that the older history with guys like Geoff Lawson and Mickey Arthur, who were also let go in messy situations, and it is clear why foreign coaches might think twice. No one wants to walk into a setup where there is constant uncertainty and so much behind-the-scenes drama

Stick to a set of coaches for a 4 year term. Way too much chopping and changing.

They need to also invest in good analytics to understand what team combinations they are looking for.

Unfortunately, most Pakistani cricket analysts are very basic/mid , especially when you compare to Indian ones even on Twitter. There's a huge gulf.

So you might have to outsource that as well

Don't waste money on coaches, they will make no difference. Use the money to pay players better, set very standards at the Domestic level, improve wickets and most importantly find the biggest brain in PK cricket and appoint him Director of Cricket and let him hire what he needs.

Naqvi is such a deceiver!!! They will appoint either Saqlan or Misbah as coach. No foreign coach will last not even 4 months. PCB is a failed organization and I don't anything in few decades at least.

Misbah definitely must have applied

Absolutely waste of time. Whoever takes over will be sacked within 6 months.

Yes. PCB need to give the coach a lengthy run. Too much chopping and changing can cause chaos.

Success or failure, at least 2 years of uninterrupted tenure is needed.

I really hope that we move on from Misbahs and aaqibs and azhar mehmoods... But whoever is coming, he should be there for 2 years atleast.

Tbh you can have anyone as coach. If Naqvi and his bosses will continue to interfere in team matters, this team will continue to fail.

Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq is also under consideration for the role but Hesson is expected to be top's choice. No authentic reports of overseas applications so far.
Anyone applied yet?

If hesson takes over he should get 2 years with no full authority his main task will be to find a way to ensure young upcoming pacers are playing enough red ball cricket and not wasting time by going to crappy T 20 leagues

As per some sources, Assistant coach Azhar Mahmood and former New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson emerged as the most notable candidates shortlisted for the Pakistan men’s cricket team’s head coach role.

Doubt Hesson would've even gone for it after seeing what Kirsten and Gillespie went through within 6-8 months of taking up the role.

According to reports:

PCB has announced vacancies for various coaching positions, with applications due by June 6. Australian cricketer Ashley Noffke is reportedly a strong contender for the bowling coach role, having previously represented his country, Australia in one ODI and two T20Is.

Don't know what's his credentials are, after the masterstroke of Shahid Aslam Meet Hanif @Rana views are awaited

He’s clearly someone who Hesson trusts. I think it’s a fair call. Guys like Misbah as batting coach are going to pollute the minds of toxic players such as Babar and Rizwan.
