PCB present detailed evidence against Shahzaib Hasan in front of AC Tribunal [Update Post #82]

What's the exact situation with Shahzaib ? I thought he was cleared and was only a whistleblower. Does he actually stand accused of any wrongdoing ?

Given our lack of powerhitters we really could do with an option like him especially if Sharjeel and Latif are finished.

Lahore May 4, 2017: The Anti-Corruption Tribunal held its preliminary hearing today at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore and the following were in attendance:

1. Jus. ® Asghar Haider (Chairman)
2. Lt. Gen. ® Tauqir Zia (Member)
3. Mr. Wasim Bari (Member)
4. Advocates of Shahzaib Hasan
5. Mr. Taffazul Rizvi, Haider Ali Khan, Advocates for PCB and Salman Naseer GM Legal PCB
6. Col. ® Mohammad Azam Khan, Head of PCB’s Vigilance and Security Department

PCB submitted its Opening Brief to the Anti-Corruption Tribunal which details its claims along with all the supporting evidence. This includes, amongst other material, witness statements, recorded interviews, and copies of certain WhatsApp voice messages.

The Anti-Corruption Tribunal directed that the parties would not make any comments regarding the proceedings of this Tribunal, the contents of the evidence presented to this Tribunal, or on the merits of the present proceedings.

A copy of the opening brief along with all the material was also provided to Mr. Shahzaib Khan and his counsel who shall respond by filing an Answering Brief before the Tribunal on 18th May 2017.

Lahore: The hearing of the spot-fixing case against Shahzaib Hasan has once again been adjourned until tomorrow.

Talking to the media, PCB legal advisor Taffazul Rizvi said that Shahzaib didn’t answer any of the questions.

During hearing Shahzaib’s interviews were also played.

On the other hand, Shahzaib’s lawyer Kashif Rajwana said that Shahzaib answered every question satisfactorily.

“I hope Shahzaib’s hearing will complete till tomorrow”, he said.

The case will enter into its final stages after tomorrow.

Earlier, the court was adjourned due to unavailability of fast bowler Mohammad Irfan.

The spot-fixing case was surfaced during the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to media reports, the verdict for this case is expected sometime today.
