It would be a bad idea to go tour Aus without having had played Test cricket in 10 months (January -> November).

They'll have rested players. What they need to do is show up far earlier and starting preparing like they do for England tour matches.

Don’t know where to start with this

This is also a good idea. Let them play QEA tournament till October, then play several tour games in AUS from Oct - Nov (3-4 weeks).

They have basically two choices.

Either they approach Cricket South Africa for a ground and they go there for a month with 25 players - where conditions are identical but hotels and food are dirt cheap - and they play against their own reserves.

Or they use Waqar Younis' connections - remember, he lives in Sydney - and they do the same thing in country Australia, preferably in a location like Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast where there is definitely a proper complex which will be guaranteed to be unused except on weekends.

Pakistani team has been on the road since September 2018 Asia Cup. The players needed to rest and recuperate

The preparation for the last tour 3 years ago was a disaster: three tests on slow, meandering tracks in the UAE followed up with a couple on greentops in New Zealand. This shoddy scheduling resulted in the bowlers having no clue on which length to bowl in Australia.

The test team should travel to Australia in mid-October and play a minimum of 3 four-day matches against the state sides. Although, that would be difficult with the sheffield shield going on at the same time. In that case, it would be prudent to take a larger group of players (25-30) and schedule four-day matches amongst themselves.

I remember reading that the batsman were being sent to Perth 2 weeks early or so- that is adequate preparation IMO.

I’m more worried about the pacers we’re going to take on tour. There are at least 3 spots if we consider Shaheen and Abbas as givens.

The Test players should play the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and fly out to Australia a couple weeks early.
