Pakistan cricket team will tour the West Indies for a two-match Test series in July-August 2026, Cricket West Indies (CWI) vice-president Azim Bassarath confirmed on Wednesday.

Bassarath, who is also the president of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB), made the announcement during the board’s executive luncheon at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain.

He revealed that the series will run from July 15 to August 7, 2026, and will form part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

According to Bassarath, Pakistan will play a four-day warm-up match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA) before the start of the Test series.

The first Test will be staged at the Queen’s Park Oval, while the second Test will be played at the BLCA.

“We will also host the Pakistan tour of the Caribbean from July 15 to August 7, 2026, comprising the four-day warm-up match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, the first Test match at the Queen’s Park Oval and the second Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy,” Bassarath said during his address.

He also confirmed that the BLCA has now achieved full international accreditation, enabling it to host matches across all formats of the game.

The upcoming red-ball tour aligns with Pakistan’s Future Tour Programme (FTP), although the detailed match schedule is yet to be released.

Pakistan and the West Indies have shared a competitive recent Test history.

The two sides last met in a Test series in January this year, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Pakistan had also toured the Caribbean for a Test series in 2021, with that contest also finishing level.

Earlier this year, Pakistan visited the West Indies for limited-overs cricket, featuring in three ODIs and three T20Is.

If Pakistan doesn't win them both, then certainly they will be out of WTC 2025-27 cycle's finalists run.

Playing in WI & then England Test series right after. I hope the team give themselves ample time to properly prepare for both Test series instead of showing up last minute with zero preparation and getting hammered.

Can't be losing to the current version of the West Indies team. They are seriously bad at Test cricket.

I think there's an away series in Bangladesh in between too

Should win this series. Windies still had a decent team when PAK last toured. Their batting is no better than minnows right now.

Beating windies at their own backyard is never easy...
Maybe previously but the current players are not even average, especially the batsmen where even maintaining a first class average just above 30 is seen as a huge achievement. If Pakistan can't win against this West Indies team, then they might as well just give up playing Test cricket.

I agree.

Either the series should be levelled or Pakistan should win against current WI minnows

With thatwe may start the Shan Massod farewell tour
No.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly decided to relieve Pakistan Test captain, Shan Masood, from his role as Consultant for International Cricket, so he can focus on his career.

not yet official though

Sooo… who has the honor to captain the team now, Agha?

Both matches scheduled in Trinidad.

Queens Park Oval historically has been a low bounce pitch so that should suit Pakistan. Brian Lara Cricket Academy has never hosted Test cricket so not sure how the pitch will behave.

they need roach to stay fit, if he out for both test then i have pakistan winning 1-0, if he plays both test then, we will draw 1-1

Windies might do a better job here at home... They always do fine against Pakistan at home

If true, a shame that both tests are being held in Trinidad. A tour is supposed to be that - a tour.

But inevitable given all cricket boards bar the “Big 3” are cash-strapped due to India (with England and Australia’s acquiescence in return for India making lucrative 5 test tours) taking half of the ICC revenues.

Playing both tests on one island cuts costs considerably as lower travel costs and expense of moving all the tv equipment. Same reason why Zimbabwe seem to play all their tests in Bulawayo, Sri Lanka in Galle and recently we’ve seen back to back tests in Multan or Pindi.

As to the likely outcome, the Windies have a slightly better pace attack and 1-1 is the most likely outcome.

And yes, according to the ICC FTP we are also supposed to tour Bangladesh in 2026. Was supposed to be in March but T20 World Cup will be followed by PSL so imagine it will be pushed to later in the year.

Not sure what the weather is like in Bangladesh then but maybe before the Windies tour which will hopefully get us in the groove for tests in Windies and England.

An equal battle it shall be. Losing will be humiliating for either of the teams.
