Honestly, with all these aged 35+ players, I feel that younger players will leave the game. If you are not getting a chance then why would you wait for a spot, life has other responsibilities? It is up to the PCB now to act and make sure that youngsters get a chance to prove how good they are. A televised u-25 tournament with 6-8 teams starting in Pakistan and no players who represented the national team will be a good start for the youngsters. I would honesty be more excited. To watch this than the PSL. This will also give much needed spotlight to our youngsters and show the fans whether the players are of substance. Also if they look like 'the real deal' then we can fully back them if they are mistreated (prime case zeeshan Malik for now).

No foreign players and Pakistani players in their mid to late 20s would bring about a dire standard of cricket in such tournament.

Standard doesn't matter.. the whole purpose is to go some sort of spotlight to youngsters since they barely get chances in the regular domestic scenes and psl as Pakistan has became uncle cultured.

I think there is nothing wrong with actually having a tournament as such. Could be a good way for the PSL talent pool draft to also be drawn up. So a tournament in Pakistan (same rules mentioned as the OP) that takes place before the PSL player draft is announced.

It should improve the quality of players available for sure.

No. Younger players need more first class cricket to improve. We need to improve domestic pitches and first class cricket if we want to improve Pakistan cricket.

Playing more T20 cricket will not improve our cricket.

Maybe like a PSL development league or reserve league like they have in football competitions.

The first T20 tournament played in Pakistan back in 2004 regularly attracted 20000+ crowds.

Can someone explain what happened to domestic attendence, specifically domestic t20?

How about no?

It doesn't work like that.

You need to bring your first class and list A standard to match Aus, Eng.

There's Pakistan Cup and QeA trophy, premier list A and FC tournaments already. Its quality should be ensured, with high quality pitches, balls, and proper player scouting.

Not just connections.

And they are televised already.
