Not sure how good of an idea this is. Some would argue you don't want U-19 players having such a big focus on the shortest format of the game. Test quality bowlers and batsmen with temperament wont really be promoted in this and will probably be left behind in the pecking order from which First Class sides will select players from.

Excellent idea but make it compulsory for the PSL teams to select the Under-19 players in the playing 11.

Apart from India and England, there is no country which has domestic 4 day(test match) tournaments.... India has a lot of 4 day domestic tournaments like cooch behar, Syed mushtaq ali (u-19) and right now India U-19 and Eng U-19 are playing a test series.... ua point is valid but this is really a great step taken by PCB... they need to have an ODI tournament for U-19 players as well but i highly doubt that there will be a 4 day domestic tournament for U-19 players in near future...

We may see that during PSL 2018... Also it has been made necessary for FC teams to hav one U-19 player in the team from this season.

Way too go in destroying young talent

Let's be honest here nobody will pay a dime to come and watch a bunch of U-19 kids at the ground which makes this entire charade as pointless as owning a refrigerator in the North Pole. The entire reason why PSL helped us win the CT was due to the simple reason that emerging players got to experience the pressures of a near international match due to the decent crowds, almost every game, in the UAE. That only happened because star power and big international names were directly representing regions that sort of created a city base loyal fandom which had an easy way to associate themselves with the brand.

With U-19 how will PCB 1) Manage to give that same full house atmosphere 2) Create that star persona which attracts people 3) Get the regions which can easily identify this as low profit venture to sponsor these lads. Furthermore, by having so much T20 all of a sudden we're essentially putting forth the point to upcoming generations that 4 day and FC cricket is the back seat in cricket and T20 Micky Mouse stuff is the real deal

There is a reason why I said Sethi is a clueless administrator and clearly cosmetic surgical policies such as these make it all the more damning. I bet, he's actually doing this to intentionally harm our cricket for the long run since we all know on who's payroll Sethi really is working for.

Is Arsal still under 19..... disaster, wonder how many years it will take him to become 19+

Well they say Afridi is still 16, yeh to phir bhi chand saal badha hai us sey.

U hav mentioned a good point here...
but i believe the guys will get better by only one way i.e. by playing more and more cricket... the charm of this league might not be even 1/10 of PSL but it is necessary to hold such tournaments for U19, U17 and U14...
Ind, Eng and Aus hav four day tournaments for U19 players while as till now there wasn't even a concept of 20-20 tournament or league for U19 players in pakistan...
This league will definitely help players grow.... maybe not at the level of PSL but this league will definitely help these youngsters and make them mature towards the game.

what will be the salaries and match fee of domestic player's now and other remunerations..?
will the players associated with departments also get salary from pcb or not?
