Rameez Raja has not been elected as chairman PCB as of yet. He is officially just a member of the Board of Governors.

Currently, the Chairman is Wasim Khan. He is acting as the caretaker chairman after Ehsan Mani left and the elections are to be held.

Thus, the authority and responsibility falls under Wasim Khan and not anyone else.

Yet, we see a BOG member making calls that the coaches should be rested for two series, than be called back for the World T20 and after that they should not be rehired.

This was Rameez Raja's decision and idea. Wasim Khan could have officially over ruled this decision. He could had said no because it was Wasim Khan who would had signed this off. Yet Wasim Khan goes to Misbah and forwards the proposal of Rameez Raja to him and lets both the coaches know that they would be fired by Rameez Raja who is the future Chairman. Thus, I will listen to what he says.

This shows that Wasim Khan is trying to save his job as the CEO and is running favors for Rameez Raja who is not even his official boss as of yet.

So that shows the unprofessional behavior of Wasim Khan.

Now we have another Wasim called Mohammad Wasim. He is the chief selector. No matter what squad is made, he gets to sign it off. The selection of squad does not come under the chairman, while the chairman has to make the final approval after the squad is made by the Chief Selector, the Chairman or BOG members cannot ask the selector to select certain players.

Now a squad gets discussed between Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim, Babar Azam and Misbah ul haq. Later on that squad which is to be signed off by the Chief Selector and the Chairman(Wasim Khan) has to approve it gets meddling by a BOG member called Rameez Raja.

Rameez Raja gets 4 players added and some of the players removed.

Chief Selector saab bows down to him, and makes the changes according to what the BOG member wants. Than Wasim Khan the chairman approves the squad which had clear meddling by the BOG member as Misbah had already complained to Wasim Khan about Azams selection.

Its sad and pathetic the way Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim and Acting chairman Wasim Khan bowed down to a guy who is not even your boss yet. Just to save their own jobs they followed what was requested even though they could have said no and not be challenged, the only thing that would had happened was they would had fell out of Rameez Raja's liking list.

The chairman election are to be held on September 13th. What's even more surprising is that no BOG member stood up and said that Rameez Raja was making decisions even before he was elected which is unlawful.

This sums up how unprofessional of an organization the Pakistan Cricket Board reallly is.

No big deal.

If Misbah and Waqar were still there, this thread wouldn't exist.

Great Post. The Constitution, The Law, and of course Professional Norms have no place in Pakistani society. Its dog eat dog and the rules of the jungle apply.

No big deal.

Its not even about Misbah and Waqar. Its more about the squad facing interference and the captain already complaining that look i am not getting the squad I wanted. The interference is coming from a BOG member.

Issue is that CEO and CS are trying to save their jobs by kissing up to a person who is not even their boss yet.

If this was a series it would had maybe not been that big of an issue for me. But the fact that this is how a WC squad is being announced does bother one.

Misbah is a part of this system. If Misbah is being screwed by the system today, he was a part of that system and happily screwed people out of selection and jobs when he had power.

As of today Rameez Raja is Chairman, CEO, Chief Selector, Chief Motivator, Head Coach....... Messiah complex in full flow.

No quality professional coach will work with PCB where chairman is selecting the squad.

Lol the OP had no issues with Misbah indulging in Conflict of Interest via being on the same committee that voted to fire Mickey Arthur and then deciding to replace him. I am sure the OP would have no issues if the same unelected BOG member chose to hire Misbah in a higher post before he was formally elected.

The only thing they did right in last few months by removing the Cancer called Misbah and Waqar Major : Dont be a paid specialist from Misbah; your posts show your $$$ got a spankig

Very poor quality thread. I feel the poster in OP is just venting out Misbah's cowardly resignation and blaming it all on board. I didn't see any statement in the OP regarding the unprofessionalism and conflict of interest that made Misbah the coach. It makes me wonder whether these points in OP would ever be raised if we still had Misbah in helm.

In regards to everyone accommodating the new Chief, let me share a bit about "corporate culture" which I have learned in the last 15 years. This happens in every corporation, where the candidate for the CEO is appeased even before his/her appointment. Board of Directors (BOG equivalent for PCB) do have a confidence motion there as well. Infact, one of my previous VPs sent his resume to the CEO to be before he even came in. So no matter how much we say "it happens in Pakistan" only, it happens all around the world.

My advice to OP is, to start supporting Pakistan cricket if you are a fan. That is the reason why Misbah was appointed, that is the reason why he was allegedly kicked out. Be a fan of the team instead of ranting needless in the OP.

This argument has been discussed before.

Arthur was never fired by the committee infact they were satisfied with him and recommended that he continue. Put the top management said otherwise.

Misbah was never being considered. It was after the job search started that Misbahs name was thrown in. Infact, if Misbah wanted to become coach he would had never had been ISB uniteds coach. Because when he became Pakistans coach he told the top management that he is already ISBs Coach thus he would not be leaving that position to which PCB said ok and still gave him the Pakistan job

Misbah kicked mickey out and now he’s gone nothing to see here other then 1 of his 2 fans here who need some tissues for their tears. This same individual prefers misbah over Pakistan. I mean how low is that.

Officially he hasn't taken any call or decision, everything else is unofficial news or report. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Meeting people, sharing ideas of how will would like to go about tenure or to observe the workings of the organization is allowed in many organizations as work shadowing and other forms before officially taking the role.

If he has forcefully made changes to squad or structure before taking over then that is obviously wrong. However, as said there is nothing official to prove that other than the reports floating around. Reports and different sources start floating something new every month and there is no accountability for any wrong information so one cant completely rely on these rumors and reports in my opinion. Yes they can be discussed but, shouldn't be considered 100% before any concrete facts.

you do have a point, but before Misbah came to Pakistan. There was already a report flouted that Misbah might be rested for the series as he might have issue coaching after Covid.

After he resigned it was proven with another report that Misbah was contacted by Wasim Khan who conveyed that rest for the series and come back for world t20.

Issue here is, even if Rameez becomes chairman, he cant be saying select so and so.

That is extremely low and shallow indeed, i agree with you.
As Pakistan cricket fans, we have been disappointed with some decisions here and there, but at no point we didn't support the team. We were never like, "if misbah is not the coach I won't support this team". This is immaturity at the highest level, and anything a poster who has such an attitude says, I won't take him/her seriously. Such fans lack creditability.

I don't see any negatives in Ramiz taking action before his official appointment. The T20 WC is very important for Pakistan and it is good to see him taking charge and action. Whether good or bad, lets be clear Misbah and Waqar were not going to lead Pakistan to success in that tournament, the new CEO is taking a wild card gamble with the squad, fingers crossed if it makes a difference or not.

Everyone blasting the squad selected for not being good enough. Let's wait and see, cricket is ultimately played on the ground and it is equally possible that the players selected could rise to the occassion and deliver on the big stage. We have already seen Malik's track record in all the ODI and T-20 WC's and he is not going to deliver at the age of 40.

100% agree with you Savak. The thing is, if I am a PM and I am about to receive a new project, I would obviously be proactive and take a lead on it even before it is official. Such work ethic is applauded.

In regards to Misbah and Pakistan's performance in world T20, you can give a world beating aussie 2000 team to Misbah and even they won't produce result. The reason being is the defensive (and to some extent loserish) mindset. Under Misbah, we use to go into a game to ensure we don't lose. When we had arthur, woolmer, etc, we went into the game ensuring we win. Both require different mindset, so irrespective of what team was chosen for T20, they wouldn't have done well. Now, I believe team will do better (irrespective of who is selected), since the mindset would for sure change.

What are you talking about? It has everything to do with Misbah. There would be no thread if he was still Head Coach.

Yep I can confirm the same individual made the admission yesterday after I had asked him who he supports more out of Misbah and Pakistan cricket.

Really sad and pathethic.

Case in Point, IK. Even before he was sworn in as PM, he was attending numerous briefings at the ministries and even the GHQ. Nothing wrong with it.

Ramiz Raja an average player selected average team and when Babar objected his test Captaincy is in danger because he can't stand Babar Azam's stature because of inferiority complex, make my words if Ramiz remains for a while Pakistan may needs to play qualifiers in future with associate teams

IK as Patron in chief of PCB is the worst thing to happen to Pakistan cricket. He appointed jokers like Mani amd Wasim who appointed jokers like Misbah and Waqar. Now Rameez Raja

If you think IK being the Patron Chief of the PCB is the worst thing to happen to Pakistan Cricket you're not old enough to remember what came before it.

Still remember the days of Tauqir Zia. This was when I first started watching Pakistan cricket as a youngster.

Yes and the budda general drafted in his son as a fast bowler and raja as the ceo.

I have been watching cricket for last 21 years

I have been watching cricket for last 21 years but nothing is worse than giving all powers to Misbah and even allow him to coach PSL team.
