People who leave religion but become obsessed with it

KingKhanWC so u have to be a scholar now to commit a religiously motivated hate crime. how many hate preachers actually get their own hands dirty be it religious or irreligious its them who rabble rouse their followers or supporters who then go out n commit the acts.

their own neighbours couldnt accept someone openly saying they left the faith and the issues they face so tried to shut them up and carried out a campaign of hate against this guy until him and his family left the area. parents told their kids to stop playing with his kids because their parents had become christians.

it was religiously motivated behaviour.

So nobody was charged for any religous hate crime towards this man? All I see is allegations from a man who loves attention.

Plenty of people stop believing and move on with their lives without no problem.

KingKhanWC i know this guy personally and what happened and didnt happen. His daughter was in my school class and i seen how people turned on them. But then u would say this is all attention seeking and has no truth to it because it paints a picture u dont like.

people can not believe and maybe tell a parent or confide in few close friends and they wont face any repercussions but if it becomes widely known amongst their neighbours relatives family friends it leads to these people being socially ostracised and shunned and at times facing threats of physical violence and vandalism.

its the open apostates who get the problems. if it isnt widely known and u keep it a secret and just go through life pretending to be an irreligious or "bad" muslim then yeah in most cases no one cares outside maybe your immediate family. openly declaring disbelief is a different kettle of fish.

With respect you know him but I dont know you. The police stated they were dissapointed he was leaving Bradford but I cant find a report which shows people were charged and found guilty for what is a religious hate crime? It seems you cant show me either, so unless someone is convinced, his attack could be related to anything. Remember this guy went on a t.v show, so loves the attention.

You left the same religion, how many times have you been attacked?

Sidilicious wouldnt say thats entirely true
as atheism doesnt indicate a political or philosophical belief system.

atheists come in many shades.

what u are describing is liberal humanistic values.

because u can become a militant anti theist like the Communists of the early 20th century who think that religion has to be destroyed with force ofc they were influenced by communism but hatred of religion consumed them too.

There are a lot of atheists who support far right movements.

ive spoken with many ex muslims from the muslim world who support trump or favour full state crackdown on islam in the west which i totally disagree with although i get theit resentment for the faith. b

atheism and liberalism secular humanism arent the same although majority of atheists do subscribe to some form of liberal or secular humanistic thoughts.

Fair point. yes there have been communist regimes that have used violence.

But even for those regimes, getting rid of religion was not the goal of using violence. It was to propagate their political and economic ideals. Atheism was just one of their beliefs. But I agree that my point is not always true, though I would still argue that it holds true more often than not.

Even now, there is a greater chance of a person dying at the hands of some religious ideology than an atheist ideology.

There are many...but i"ll start with Genesis Verse#11
And now ...you are on your own....

I thought Genesis was in the Bible?

You wrote "t atleast some part of Quran is the word of that rabbi."

Youre right im on my own here. :inti

People that become religious also start preaching and try to get people to change to their own way of thinking. Its human thing and happens with all topics not just religion. This forum is run on this with all of us having different opinions on players teams etc trying to convert others to our way of thinking.

Fair point James. I've read Robert saying he's found something else which gives him meaning and reason for existance, so I guess if you can replace on belief with another, it can also make it easir to move on. Robert is a great example, it's took him so long to fully move on yet you never see him ranting and raving about religion being bad, false etc.. I wish others were like him.

Oh, I did my share of that too! But eventually I realised that religious people who do harm do so because they are angry and scared, not because they are religious.

Now I do not care if a person has any religion or none, as long as they are kind.
